^i'm flying from nagoya, japan.  i'm still confused when to travel. but i'm sure the plane ticket would be more than $1,000. anong season kaya makamura ng ticket?

^ mura ang spring and autumn sa US. from experience, cheapest ang may. but since you're flying from japan and if you're not flying direct, should be cheaper actually. abangers mode ka na lang sa twitter ng announcements ng say, delta or always check kayak.

^^yeah im not familiar rin for international flights kung cheaper. check airline sites mismo to see in advance minsan cheaper parin sila by $10. noon we went around september the flights were cheap pero from lax.

^uy minsan mahal ang kayak or rather limited minsan ang available flights.

iba iba rin ang offerings kasi nung mga yan and availability try rin airgorilla, cheaptickets or *airfarewatchdog and if you find a good price check after taxes and compare it sa airline website mismo para sure na nakadeal ka.

^ mahal ang kayak minsan but since nabili nila ang sidestep parang kadalasan mura naman. and when you go directly to the airlines, they give you the same prices din. the thing talaga is to compare-direct with airlines, travel sites such as kayak, priceline, etc. and with travel agencies. and really, follow those companies on twitter. as of their latest tweet on value fares, PAL is offering $498 rt to honolulu, $598 to la/las vegas/sfo

hi mga sis! nakakatuwa naman tong forum na to...i learned a lot! im going to move in CA sa evergreen, San jose..meron ba tayong mga sisses dito?  kapag ok na visa ko, God's will  this year na rin... im anxious and nervous kasi lahat ata ng adjustments mararanasan ko...sabi naman ni H2B, kuha daw kami ng apartment na malapit sa mga Filipino Restaurants /malls para daw hindi ako ma homesick at baka iwanan ko siya! hahaha! Though, I just learned na yung isang cousin ko sa Santa Clara nagwowork and andun rin yung hubby nya, but still, nakakapanibago  any tips kung anung pwedeng gawin on the first weeks kapag anjan na sa CA? Thank you!

You'll be fine, sis! Buti nga ikaw may cousin sa Santa Clara. I don't have any family member in the US, period - but I turned out fine naman (I moved here in 2007).

I suggest you let your body get acclimated muna on your first weeks. Medyo nakakawindang din kasi yung time difference between 'Pinas and US. Pag nasa kundisyon ka na, saka ka mag-start maglakad ng papers mo (SSN, Other IDs, etc.).

^^ malamig-lamig na. perfect weather. hmmm walang masyadong sale pa. from november-december yung mga sale

^^^ malapit-lapit ako sa rowland heights. mga 15-20 minutes siguro by car. 48 years by bus loljk.

You may want to check hostels on agoda.com and, for a more personalized stay and something that will allow you to live like a local, try airbnb.com -- i tried it during from recent trip to Manila from the US. Instead of booking a hotel, I booked a room at a foreigner's house in Dasma Village in Makati. I sooo love the hospitality that he extended to me.

Hotels in San Francisco are not cheap so airbnb is a great alternative.
