^^hi sis fourever, kung ang course mo is within the medical field, best kung aralin mo yun mga basics ng chem, physics, bio and social sciences, yung pang college level ha, not highschool kasi what was taught in highschool is just a gist of those concentrations of science. kung sa april ka pa mag t take ng nmat, better enroll yourself in a review center or, kung may conflict sa sched mo, you can buy an NMAT reviewer sa national bookstore, 600+ ata yun, tsaka sagutan mo din un reviewer provided by CEM- yung nag aadminister ng NMAT. good luck

^Vain Jane- for you to get to UERM, dapat ma meet mo [textspeak!] required NMAT percentage nila or higher and you must pass the interviews. Alam ko, for UPCM naman dapat nasa 90+% (yes,percent) ang dapat mo makuha for you to be considered, at dapat mapasa mo din yun mga steps ng admissions nila

Is there such a thing po ba where in hindi umabot yung percentile ng NMAT pero nakapasok sa school? Sa UE meron po bang ganun or kahit saang school?

basically, make good in your nmat, complete the requirements, do good sa interview (if their still doing it. nung nag-apply kasi ako may interview silang ginagawa sa mga applicants), and most importantly PRAY.

sis, when you're not in the hospital, take time to relax, breathe, watch movies, do things which do not relate to any medical stuff (i.e. go to spa, etc). nape-pressure ka lang kasi feeling mo marami kang kelangang gawin in so little time.  do things one step at a time & everything will fall into place. in the end, mare-realise mo na nalampasan mo siya and you'll just laugh at yourself for ever thinking of quitting. most importantly, don't forget to pray. 4 months na lang.. if others can do it, you can do it too. kaya go go go!

sis, saan ka ba nagrereview? heard kasi na petiks mode lang sa mga review centers for nmat. as for the sciences, yes its purely basic stuff pero its not as basic as the ones taught in highschool. as for UERM alam ko mahigpit sila sa NMAT rating plus kailangan magpaassess ng subjects,na deemed necessary kunin before entering med proper like biochemistry. may ibang school na walang nmat cut off like eac, fatima, mcu and perpetual.

naku. hindi ko na matandaan lahat ng mga tinanong sa akin because it was way back late 2001 pa. hehe! but i remember na may tinanong na what if one of my female friends becomes pregnant from rape & she asks me for a prescription of an abortifacient, what will i do as a physician. and of course the eternal question "bakit gusto mong maging doktor". other tips i can say are arrive on time, dress smartly, stay calm, answer the question straight forward, and be yourself.

addendum: admission to the UP College of Medicine is very competitive. even some students who had their pre-med at UP do not get accepted at the College of Med. aside sa limited slots, you need to have a high NMAT score (kung kaya mong makakuha ng 99, better), you must be a honors graduate in your pre-med degree, you need a strong support (aka backer) from someone inside the UP Medicine or PGH. it's not easy but it's worth a try.

I'm reviewing sa MSA in Makati. I dont think its that laid back sa review center ng MSA, in fairness nag eeffort naman sila magbigay ng mga supplemental handouts and extra exercises tapos they also do make up classes every weekdays for those na gusto maulit yung lecture nung Sunday. Officially every Sundays lang talaga ang review ko pero I attend narin yung weekdays para in case may namiss out ako or para mareview narin ako ulit 

Sis would you pano pala kung may mga certain subjects na wala talaga sa curriculum ko ng pre-med? I took up nursing kasi and wala kami biochem. Gen chem lang.

Ah okay, pero better kung magbabasa ka din ng reviewer ng CEM.  Alam ko sa UERM sobrang strict sila sa mga prerequisite subjects like biochem, di ka nila tatanggapin hanggang di mo pa natatake yung mga prerequisite subjects like yun nga, biochem, physics etc. same thing applies for plm and ust
as for backer, unless they are within the school administration, they wont be able to help you out to get in. it doesnt follow na porket may backer ka and department chair yun backer mo eh you can easily bypass the admission process and get in. best to do good in your nmat and intervies.

@fourever- no prob :)plan mo ba by sy 2011 ka mag enroll sa med school? yung april nmat kasi is good for applications sa 2012, or pwede rin sa mga schools na walang NMAT cut off at tumatanggap ng mga students na di pa nag N NMAT. do good in your nmat this coming december

@bleudskymd- hay doc... what they gave us were false hopes na kesyo aalagaan and proprotektahan nila kami but they didnt. sila yung batch before us, tapos instead na alagaan kami, sila yung super mang power trip. kahit may mga long exams kami, hala, kukunin un lunch time namin for them to do the power tripping. Mas masaya pa maging simpleng estudyanteng walang org, at least di big deal pag ang lagi mong kasama ay un kaibigan mo na taga rival soro. big deal din sa kanila na di ako lagi sumasama sa mga lakad nila. hay.. wrong wrong move.. gusto ko nga mag pa dismember pero, for sure, issue na naman yun, kaya sa mga med missions lang ako sasama at di dun sa mga bullcrap sessions nila

^sis, thanks po. ganun po ba? gusto ko po sana magpareserve next year kasi 2012 po graduation ko so, hindi po tatanggapin yung result ng april ko sa pagrereserve-an ko ng slot kung 2012 naman po ako papasok?

^:) valid pa naman yung nmat results mo by sy 2012. 2 years bago mag expire yung validity ng test  results mo. in some cases kasi, may mga students na twice or thrice na nag n nmat just to reach yung desired cut-off ng school na gusto mo pasukan nila, kunyari sa up which is 90% and above. kunyari, naka 85% ka lang on your first try at sa up mo lang gusto mag aral come 2012, you can retake the succeeding nmat to see kung nameet mo na yung cut off nila.while doing so, you can simultaneously apply sa mga med schools tapos sabihin mo na to follow ang nmat results mo. maaga kasi nag c close yung admission process ng mga med schools.

ang sinabi ko is i won't give her an abortifacient even if magmakaawa pa siya. hindi ko na inalam kung natanggap ako sa UE or not when i learned na natanggap ako sa iba. hehe!

baka naman kapag natapos na ang "initiation period" saka pa lang nila kayo aalagaan ng maigi & all those other things that they "promised". if not, is there a way para mag-quit ka from the sorority as early as possible before ka nila formally tanggapin sa grupo, because it seems na hindi ka masaya and you feel that you made a wrong move? baka mas lalo ka nilang pag-tripan kapag hindi ka sumasama sa mga activities nila (whether simpleng lakad lang yan o major major med mission).

^ngayon sis, nararamdaman ko na somehow [textspeak!] pag aalaga nila. somehow. turns out na di okay [textspeak!] mga batchmates ko. parang tinotoxic nila [textspeak!] buhay nila by focusing on the lives of their batchmates, ok, i appreciate their concern pero, way too overboard na sila sa amin. tsaka ang gusto nila sila lagi ang kasama mo, na sa kanila ka nalang makikipag interact, bawal ka na makipagkaibigan sa iba, lalo na sa mga taga rival soro/frat at babalewalain mo na ang friendship na naestablish mo among your classmates, dahil sa kanila. gusto ko doc magpa dismember nalang, kaso as consulted, malaking issue un pag ginawa ko. so ang gagawin ko magiging active ako sa mga med missions, at least un for a good cause, and sa mga so-so na lakad at power tripping sessions nila sa mga incoming neos eh mag di disappearing act muna ako

^ nyek! if i were you, magpapadismember na lang ako. the sorority has no right to tell or dictate to me who to befriend and not to befriend, who to hang out with and who to avoid. i have the right to quit from an organization which doesn't help me as a person. if gawin nilang issue ang pagquit ko, paki ko sa kanila. i won't let any sorority (and their immature rules) control my life. the more you stay there, the more it will be harder to get out. even if you avoid joining them in other "less fruitful" activities, power trippings, hahanapin ka pa rin nila. mas gagawin nilang issue yun against you.
