^onga. this too shall pass. huhu.

This morning I did 12 arterial extractions from 10 1month old babies.  Succesful lahat! ;D fun fun fun

4 months of clerkship to go. Whew.

mee too!

(But still, kung sobrang power trip, Incident Report na yan. You have rights, too.)

It gets better. =)

sa amin, di naman puro recitation but we are being grilled during presentation. parang defense lagi ng thesis ang drama. ok lang sa akin para at least sanay na sa revalida come internship:)

^hindi sis. napansin ko (when I went through 1st year med twice due to my illness), laging may nadedelay sa mga members ng sorority and fraternity dahil sa mga events nila. and mahirap na mabawi ang bad grades once you fail even just one shifting =(

saang school ka ba sis? =) kasali ka sa soririty?

BTW, i just submitted my Internship Matching App form.

They gladly accept PLM grads dahil maraming nagqquit na interns from private schools for the 1st 2 weeks of internship  :P

Pero for us, super benign ng PGH internship compared to OM clerkship. And we will be forced to study for the boards.

According to my residents, pag benign ka ng internship, di ka rin mag-aaral e, magpparty ka lang. Haha. Naku sabay pa kaya ang DOH and MMC interns' party noong Oct 28  :o

^plm din ako, sa JR naman ako nag intern. chicken ang clerkship sa OM compared to internship sa JR. wala gaano paper works pero regular na yung pagiging toxic. ang maganda sa training dun, malakas loob mo after, compared lalo na sa nagintern sa private hospitals. and kung surgical ang field na gusto mo for specialization, namimigay ng cases lagi ang residents. and karamihan sa residents na inabutan ko, wala power tripping. siguro kasi wala din sila time na mang trip kasi lahat naman toxic.  ;D

if you're going to quit at this time, you're wasting a lot - money, time, sacrifices. you're about to graduate in less than 1 yr and earn that MD degree. everyone goes through clerkship, no excemptions and we all have experienced hardships, different levels of toxicity day in, day out, duty or not.

you're not alone. :) kaya mo yan.

being a med student is 3x the work a typical college student does. you have more books & handouts to read, quizzes/exams to go through. your weekly schedule is cramped with subjects, you can't choose your subjects & they are all considered as "major" ones. your weekends are spent on studying, reading.

Radiology sana gusto ko as a specialization. I'm fascinated by imaging scans  :P As a patient, I underwent 2 CT scans and 2 MRI scans before and regularly undergo whole ab UTZ every 3 months. Kung pwede ako na sana magmonitor sa sarili ko in the future =p

My radio consultants tell me JR or PGH is the way to go if you need the salary =p

Ganon talaga. Now I'm glad I didn't quit. fulfilling naman at masarp isipin na nakayanan lahat ng hirap.

sis, when you're not in the hospital, take time to relax, breathe, watch movies, do things which do not relate to any medical stuff (i.e. go to spa, etc). nape-pressure ka lang kasi feeling mo marami kang kelangang gawin in so little time.  do things one step at a time & everything will fall into place. in the end, mare-realise mo na nalampasan mo siya and you'll just laugh at yourself for ever thinking of quitting. most importantly, don't forget to pray. 4 months na lang.. if others can do it, you can do it too. kaya go go go!

:)

Hi,

I'm an aspiring first year med student this coming 2011, I was thinking of applying for UP, UST, UE, FEU, PLM..

Pero my target talaga is UERM. If makapasok sa UP (Thank God)  ;D

Any tips mga sis? Especially when applying sa UERM.

Thanks for all your replies :)

Sis, I think maganda if you're still familiar sa mga 4th year highschool subjects mo. Kasi yun talaga yung basic topics sa NMAT. Ako, I dont think naalala ko pa yung mga details like formulas sa Physics, etc. Kaya just to play it safe I opted to go to a review center nalang din par atleast ma refresh ako :)

basically, make good in your nmat, complete the requirements, do good sa interview (if their still doing it. nung nag-apply kasi ako may interview silang ginagawa sa mga applicants), and most importantly PRAY.

goodluck to you!
