baxtel nga daw po maganda na sphygmo kaso mo po, wala pong maganda ditong bilihan, sa bambang pa daw po. naghahanap ako sa net kaso i can't find one.

^ bambang is the one good place to buy all those stuff. yes, littmann is worth P4-5K.

i suggest you go there one weekend (probably saturday). if you're coming from cavite, my mga buses na dumadaan ng taft then go to bambang via lrt or jeep.

how much po kaya gagastusin for the first sem sa med school in UST and same with UERM? Laki po ba difference?

^tuition fee lang. books are around 25+thou kasi bawal ata ang xeroxed books sa UST, so dapat puro original ang bibilhin mo. 

sa UST, you need to pay 25thou rin ata to secure your slot. 25k sya 4 years ago, dunno the price today.

ENT na ang rotation ko. libre kami magpa-rhino sa consultant! I want! haha.

doktoras...where did you had your internship and how was it?

i was supposed to go to jose reyes but nag-quit ako after 1 day. the transfer was hard for me because marami kaming nagquit ng sabay-sabay. the consequence was that i was delayed for 1 month. i left for personal reasons.

then i went to a private hospital in manila. i had fun and i learned a lot. strict ang internship training namin (compared sa ngayon because wala kaming 8hrs rest kapag duty - which is recently imposed by apmc) however it got me prepared for the more strenuous residency training. kami yung nag-e-endorse ng mga patients (both morning & afternoon endorsements), bahala na kung ma-boljak kami ng mga senior residents. wala rin kaming "from duty" status. yes toxic sa kung toxic yung pinasukan ko but i never gave up kasi my support ako from my co-interns, family, and other friends.

may list of books na nare-release ang UST FMS per subject but you don't need to buy (almost) all of them. maraming references sa medical library plus the departments give hand-outs which is suffice na. we used a xeroxed copy of the local OB book but hindi naman kami sinita or pinagbawalan. pati yung mga review books na ginamit namin during our review for the oral revalida are just photocopied. still, no offense was imposed on us.

its been quite a while since i took the boards pero what i did was i made a schedule (rather my then bf now hubby made it for me para mas inspired ako hehe) guide me and para may gauge ako what Ive covered na and ano pa need ko aralin
determine your most productive time and dun mo itapat review mo. mahirap talaga magconcentrate so what i did was give myself breaks in between and then balik aral. and i made mini goals, parang if i finish these 3 chapters by this X time i can go on 1 hr break na, babaw pero it made me look forward to something and go on studying lol... and then as much as possible I don't review during Sunday para rest day and church day:)

hey goodluck sa upcoming boards.

i started to review (yung seryoso) sometime mid-june. i went at our school library because i find studying with friends/ batchmates more inspiring than studying at home.

my routine was get up at 5:30am, jog around our neighborhood for 30mins then get dressed. i arrive at the library around quarter to 8, chill out for a while then start reviewing by 8 until 4 or 4:30pm (of course, my breaks in between) then i go to the church (prayers!) before heading home. at home, i just watch tv until 9 or 10pm then sleep, o kaya go to the mall to window shop or watch a movie (kung may magandang palabas). i conditioned myself to be awake in those times because i don't want to feel sleepy during the actual exam. i make it a point na sunday is my "review free" day.

i review one subject muna then browse thru the samplex material. pag may time pa, i re-review those important subjects. i remember reading digging up the bones 3x. hehe!

and don't forget to pray hard.

Im the type who prefers to study alone but my mom wanted me to attend the classes because it was recommended by a friend who already passed the boards. i find the environment not conducive for studying but no better choice naman ako because its quite expensive eh sayang naman pag ndi ko inattended. in fairness to them, the lecturers are good. its the environment thats really distracting me.

oh well, better step up soon or else... hehe

for the boards, di ako bumili ng review books. nanghiram ako sa kapwa nagrereview. so wala ako choice kundi finish agad yung book kasi isosoli ko pa sa may ari agad, kahiya kung more than a day kasi hiramin.

self-review may be quite scary for some, especially for those who don't know where to start or actually how to start with the review because of fear they might miss something when they review alone. i know some colleagues who went also to review centers & eventually passed the boards. somehow, they did regret enrolling kasi pag dating sa bahay, they still do "self study" and then puyat pa sila sa review kinabukasan.

Regarding UST on photocopied books, wala naman problem magpa-photocopy ng books. Wala naman sinisita and some residents, photocopied din lang books.

During first year, the only book you need is Anatomy by Snell. All departments kasi are distributing handouts. Study the handouts by heart and listen to the lectures, you'll get high grades na. Plus don't forget samplexes. hehe
