Lei_Glee: An endometrial polyp or uterine polyp is a mass in the inner lining of the uterus.No definitive cause of endometrial polyps is known, but they appear to be affected by hormone levels and grow in response to circulating estrogen.[2] They often cause no symptoms.[3] Where they occur, symptoms include irregular menstrual bleeding, bleeding between menstrual periods, excessively heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), and vaginal bleeding after menopause.[2][5] Bleeding from the blood vessels of the polyp contributes to an increase of blood loss during menstruation and blood "spotting" between menstrual periods, or after menopause.[6] If the polyp protrudes through the cervix into the vagina, pain (dysmenorrhea) may result.[4]

shinta= ayoko talaga magpa d & c huhu, di ba nasabe ko sayo nagtake ako ng herbal meds, naniniwala kase akong gagaling ako, bahala na si lord, kaya instead na ngayon na gawin yung d & c, after 3 mos na lang daw, para macheck kung me himala ba, pag andun pa din, ayun d & c, huhuhu, pero nag-aalala ako sobra kase bata-bata ko pa, me pamahiin pa man din samin, na ninipis ang matris at baka mas lalo mahirapang magkaanak, single pa man din ako, @ age of 25 ko pa gusto mag-asawa huhu, mag-22 na ko this 28, shinta, hehe, bata pa din di ba.

sis, baka fractional d&c lang naman yun. i was able to do fractional d&c to remove polyps, even if hindi pa ako nagkakababy that time.

hi sis...oo, asian at mmc 80k-100k, mind this sis OPD lang daw yun. PGH 40k-50k. may idea ka ba sis na mas cheaper na OB for this procedure?

^sis, naghahanap din ako. next year ko na balak magpa-checkup sa bagong OB. sana may alam siya na mas mura. wala pa naman akong HMO. ang alam ko nga din OPD lang talaga yun. nakakaiyak naman yung presyo, para kang nanganak.

ah, so pangalawa na pala if ever. ang sabe dati sa akin ng ob ko, if hindi pa makuha, yung pangalawang procedure is polypectomy. same with fractional d&c pero may camera na ito. kung ako din nga, parang ayoko muna agad. siguro after 5 years, pwede na ulet. ganun din kasi sa colonoscopy, after 5 years ginagawa yung procedure to revalidate.

^yup sis, kaya gusto ko din magpalit ng bagong OB kasi D&C lang ulit yung option na binibigay niya sakin. nag-recur kasi yung polyp ko after two years or possible din na may ma-miss during the first D&C. kaya this time I want to make sure na matatanggal na lahat.

pero ang mahal ng hysteroscopy. 

OT: ano yung polyptectomy? is it different from hysteroscopy?

ah. i would suggest siguro getting a second opinion nga, kasi another d&c would not really guarantee you na wala na siyang mamiss this time around. polypectomy is just like d&c pero equipped with camera. i am not so sure about its difference, reading each definition, magkahawig lang sila. parang mas general term lang ata yung polypectomy.

yung biopsy mo ba dati confirmed that it is indeed polyps? sa akin kasi oo. 2cm pa nga yung diameter, but last tvu ko, wala na. next year ulet, another tvu for monitoring.

^ yes sis, polyps nga and thankfully, benign naman. 2 yung nakuha sakin dati. di ko na matandaan yung dimensions, basta isang malaki at isang maliit.

then i had tvu din after, 2 or 3 times pa nga kasi she was monitoring my cyst naman. and wala na siyang nakitang polyp sa tvu nun. after two years, i went back for a checkup, tapos yun meron na naman. kaya she said it's a recurrent polyp. and D&C na naman daw ulit. inischedule na nga ako ni OB, pero di ako sumipot. hehe. kasi ayoko talaga magpa-D&C, parang it's too soon, since 2 years lang yung last D&C ko. wala naman siyang ibang options na sinabi sa kin. dito ko nga lang nalaman sa GT na may ibang procedures pa pala na pwedeng gawin.

^ah, so confirmed naman pala. better na lang siguro talaga to seek second opinion. kahit ako, ayoko siguro na same procedure yung gagawin sakin all over again. and malay mo matanggal pa siya kusa over the year. monitoring lang din ng dimensions nya. it is worth having it removed if it is a cm in diameter already.

hi am newbie here!actually lagi kong vinivisit tong forum na to but ngayon lang ako magjo-join ng dicussion. I'm 34 y/o wala pa ring baby takot kasi ako dati but when i was ready to have a baby, na-miscarriage naman ako (2008) and then i Just had fractional d&c last December 18 sa Mary Chiles Hospital that was Saturday due to thickened endometrium,  then mon night nag-shoppping galore ako then tues afternoon nag-contact kami ni hubby then nag-bleed ako tues night until ngayon...ayko na kasing pumunta sa ob so i'm trying to ask for opinions or advices to those who had experience this...help naman po...sorry for the long post...

All I know is masama din pag lagging nagpapa D & C or other procedures na ganyan kasi nagkakadhesions ang iyong matres..nagbabara yun sa matres at fallopian tubes makes for the ertilized egg harder to travel to teh uterus din.

Ang mahal naman ng HSG sa Makati Med pala sis...after ng  procedure mo an yun sis did you get pregnant na?

Sis gya,
Baka may na retain pa na post D &C blood clots and tissues pa kaya you developed thickened endometrium and abnormal bleeding. Sis kung Dec 18 ka na D & C you should have avoided sexual contact muna for a few weeks, parang bago ka lang nanganak kasi niyan...nagpacheck ka na sa ob mo kasi mataggal na ang abnormal bleeding mo? Take care sis.

Sis Lei_Glee, HSG ko dun sis without anaesthesia 6500. hysterescopy sis un 80k-100k at hindi ko pa napapagawa. sa HSG patent tubes ako thanks God, pinagdasal ko talaga yun. medyo 2nd thought pa ko sa hysterescopy kasi yun cousin ng sister in-law ko, pinainom lang sya ng gamot ng OB nya para matunaw yun polyps. ayun after 3months daw nabuntis na. hindi ko yata sis kaya ang 80k na yun eh. kaya plan ko mag 2nd opinion.

^ sis prettymish, sino po OB ng cousing ng SIL mo? may naririnig nga akong ganun, nadadaan daw sa gamot yung polyps pati yung mga ovarian cysts.

actually yung OB ko, namention niya na after dapat ng D&C to remove my polyps (again), she'll have me undergo daw a hormone therapy for my ovarian cysts. baka daw kasi makuha pa sa gamot. pero for the polyp, D&C lang ang option na sinabi niya sakin.

di ko din kaya yung 80k. i can produce pero masasaid talaga savings namin. kung may ibang option aside from D&C and hysteroscopy, mas ok sana yun.

si hubby ko, kinukulit na ako kung kelan ako magpapacheckup ulit. i still can't make up my mind where to go and who to consult.

may friend ako she used to have polyps then pinainom lang siya ng gamot at nagpa-opera after a year she got pregnant na and gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

hi sis lei thanks for the reply...after 4 days nag-stop din ang bleed and nagpa-check up na ako..wala namang prob na..my ob prescribed doxicon for 5 days, then she also gave me purifol, vit e and time-cee kung willing daw ako to get pregnant...sana nga that's my goal this year eh...

yung mga namiscarriage dito and na D & C, did you have a hard time to revcover your old body ba? as in mabilis lang nag flatten out uli ang tummy ninyo? after ninyo na D & C wala na ba kayong ibang tests or tvs ginawa to make sure na malinis na ang uterus mo of the miscarraiged fetus?

i had d&c last Oct 30 sa first baby ko...blighted ovum ang sabi ng OB ko..very stressed ako nun kc gusto namin mgkababy ng husband ko, tapos ganun [textspeak!] nangyari..

last january 3 nag P.T ako and it came out positive..nagpacheck up ako sa OB (pero di na [textspeak!] [textspeak!] 1st OB ko) at pinababalik nya kmi after 2 weeks..maliit pa kc 4 weeks plang.

hnd maalis sa isip ko na bka ganito nnman ang mangyari skin. ayoko magisip kc stress ang reason kung bakit ako na diagnose ng ganun dati, pero di ko maiwasan. think positive nlang ako plagi pero di maalis [textspeak!] kaba e..

sna etong susunod maging maayos na...

sis dont worry ako rin 1st baby namin ni hubby naging blighted ovum din.Last august 12 lang din ako na D&C pero hindi pa ako preggy ulit kasi hindi pa ako ganon ka ready.

but wag kang matakot kasi hindi na mauulit yung blighted ovum kasi once lang daw yun nangyayari sa ating mga babae.Try mo din i research about blighted ovum para hindi ka matakot.

im sure healthy na yang next pregnancy mo, keep your faith sis.
