Thrift Shopping!

Na-engganyo ako mag ukay recently. Ang saya-saya kasi nakakahanap ng murang unique pieces unlike in tiangge or department stores na parang magkakamukha.

minsan lang medyo inis ako pag may "branded" section yung ukay... kahit hindi naman branded medyo okay lang or new-looking yung damit, ang mahal pa rin! nakakasama ng loob

on my recent trip to Baguio.. i got the following: Tommy Hilfiger na long sleeves at P60, Banna Republic na t shirt at P50, then sa bangketa, me isang cart na puro cardigans! got Zara, Mossimo at P15 each!

^ wow! san sa Baguio? nung nagpunta ako sa may Palengke wala ako nakita. :-(

sa baguio, i always go to the one near burnham. yung old building na puro ukay. from shoes, bags, clothes, toys, to random stuff meron dun. branded and non-branded

thrift shopping is the best! where else can you find one of a kind clothes at prices below 100? your money goes a long way talaga.  there's a thrift shop near our place where we go to pag weekends and you can get branded items for 65. super cheap    although wala pa ko nakita na branded items na P15 only   if only baguio is nearby.

1. Katapat ng eurotel sa araneta center, fashion delite ata yun name.
2. Sa may side ng fairmart, yung street corner puregold papunta ng edsa, may buiding dun after puregold, pag pumasok ka, may stalls sa loob (1st floor) tabi tabi.
3. EDSA (north bound) going to Aurora interection.

So far eto yung alam ko. Let me know if meron pang iba na hindi ko napuntahan. hehe

cubao rin ako kaya lang am still not familiar with the place since bago lang ako. pero pag me time pupuntahan ko to. thanks for sharing!

so happy with my ukay purchase kanina, got hoodie/jacket na may fur sa hood for only
p100 kailangan ko ng mga pangwinter clothes for my korean trip sayang naman kung mahal
pa bilhin ko hindi ko naman masyado magagamit. still on the lookout for coats and boots..

my favorite ukay haunts are the ones in quiapo and edsa-taft. bought a lot of my favorite things from there plus, those places are cheap, because i rarely buy clothes that are more than 50php for a single piece.

Hi girls! I'm from Cebu City and seriously, madaming UK dito! As in! From our house to my school, I pass by 10 UK shops everyday.. And to think its only 2 KM from my house to school. 90% of my clothes too are from ukay ukay! I love UK!! My 500 pesos can buy me 10 tops or 5 shorts. Just recently, I bought 2 shorts (1 Esprit & 1 American Eagle) - 70 each

Im not into Ukay-Ukay kasi hindi ako marunong magsuot and feeling ko di matanggal ang smell. pero mahilig ako sa sale, factory outlet sale, bazaar, Clearance Sale, or anything with SALE!   I able to buy my clothes 50-80% off and mostly are branded.  but sometimes if i really like the style, I buy it even at regular price (pag may pera lang naman kadalasan)

Sometimes i buy in tiangge as well.  some styles are really nice at very affordable prices.  why buy in ukay-ukay while you can buy a brand new (although unbranded) at the same price diba?

Anyway, here are some of the few reasons why people go into ukay:
1. Cheap branded items.  Sometimes even cheaper than warehouse/clearance sale prices and tiangges.
2. Vintage finds and hard to find items no longer available in the mass market, like bags and accessories.
3. Unique/one-of-a-kind items, unlike sa retail stores na mass produced.
4. Savings. More value for your money.
5. Yung "thrill of finding something". Haha it's like treasure hunting kasi.

I think it's not an issue of whether or not one can afford brand new-unbranded items. I'm sure most of us here in GT can afford to buy those things. It's just that we prefer to exercise an alternative choice.

happy ako sa nabili ko na mini dresses for 55 each (2) saka 1 long blouse na 55 din (sa calamba). also got 3 walking shorts for 20 each, and a pair of capri jeans for 20 also, as well as a pair of maternity slacks for 60 (sa alabang naman). 165 + 140 = satisfied ukay shopper!

Bought 3 pairs of office pants for P550 from an Ukay Ukay in Starmall Las Pinas. New arrival kaya mahal pa. 1 Giordano, 1 Bossini and 1 unbranded. Super happy because all them are brand new

happy with my ukay find, an esprit jacket with detachable fur hood. like the style and the fit, namahalan lang ako kase i got it for p250 tho its a winter jacket so carry na din. my bff saw a nice checkered blouse which will go well with leggings so i bought it for p95 hehe un bff ko matyaga and have an eye for really nice clothes. she also found a very chic dress for p150, galing nga kase at first look parang walang dating yung dress pero nung chineck maganda nga

ang mura naman ng ukay sa pinas. here naman sa canada konti lang ang mga pinoy na into ukay isa lang yata ang kilala ko na nakakasama ko na mag ukay. although dami kong kilalang canadians na into ukay ah. karamihan nga sa kanila mga nurses and professionals. one time nga may nakita akong lady ang dami nyang pinamiling baby clothes sa anak nya then paglabas nya shukcs ang kotse latest model ng hummer....what the...ayos.

anyway my latest ukay finds last wek:
10 tank tops na banana republic, michael kors and dkny.

meron din dito online ukayan called kijiji. may magbebenta then mag meet kayo or kukunin mo sa bahay nila. sayang last week di ko nakuha authentic coach bag na brand new and wallet for only $35.00 so mga nasa P1,500 to P1,800 lang...

^nakatry na ko mag ukay sa canada. ang saya ng ukay nila, parang department store. tapos they steam iron the clothes pa. meron nga kaming nakasabay na sinuot na niya agad yung binili niya after paying eh.
