Frothe: oo mahal talaga granite... mariwasa tiles sis ok din naman yun. kuha ka n alang yung may stone-like design. faux granite ba. some are using wood laminates for ocunter tops..i havent used that pa kasi i dont think it will last compared sa stones/tiles.

mga sis, any comments on using laminated countertops like Formica for the kitchen?  thanks.

We live in an apartment, and we have formica counters. We plan to buy a house and it comes with standard formica countertops, ok na rin for a start since we are also on a budget. Ok naman this one, it is quite durable, its easy to clean, it doesn't crack like tiles, it also does not absorb food stains. I have seen sample colors at it comes in a good variety.

I even think this is relatively more aesthetically pleasing than tiles kasi grout lines become stained. If you are on a budget, this is easy on the pocket. Just add a good backsplash.

i don't know kung OT yung question ko but since most of ID naman eh nagsasuggest din ng mga wall colors, might as well ask na din...

sa room, if i opt to have paint na stripes, would it be better kung horizontal or vertical? i've seen kase na horizontal line is for high ceilings para daw macompact yung room kaya lang may nabasa din ako na yung horizontal lines daw is para maging malaki yung room. ano ba talaga?

It is not advisable to put hot pots/containers on top of formica countertops since the tendency to get scuff marks and burn. It is relatively easy to clean actually, just use mild soap/detergent and water. But do not use abrasive cleaning pads since you might end up with a countertop full of cuts and scratches. I notice sometimes that food marks like those from achuete  would accidentally land on the countertop, natatangal naman kung linisin maiigi. Sometimes, a small stain would remain, pero natatanggal din sa daily na paglilinis.

Since we are on a budget, this formica does not compare even a bit to granite or engineered stone, which of course are more durable and will last for years. Pero, since this type is countertop is easy on the budget, easy to install din, pwede na for the price. Yung mga extra pre-cautions naman apply din to ceramic tile counters.

^IMO sis, i won't recommend. try to buy sa mga stores like Wilcon or Home Depot na lang..

Would you know of a designer's discount at Crossings or other establishments?  How much and available ba even if payment is through credit card?  Or if the client purchases the item as long as kasama si ID and his/her discount card?

di ko na gets.. but ummm, we share our designer's discounts to our clients. suppliers doesnt give it basta basta lang kasi. so a normal consumer/ non-id cannot avail them without their respective designers.
