Working in Government Agencies?

If you are really bent on entering government/public service, PREPARE yourself!  Don´t expect na mataas ang swedo mo -- it´s not a lucrative career.  Sobra ang pulitika both within and outside the agency.  Marami na nga akong naririnig na kelangan MBA (may backer ako) LOL!  Pahirapan din ang promotions kasi palakasan system pa rin ang mananaig. Sasakit pa ang loob mo when you get passed over by someone na hindi ganoon ka-qualified or lacks the necessary criteria para mapromote.  Although on paper, everything written down on their manual of operations and personnel administration is ideal - hindi naman nasusunod

saw in news BIR is looking to hire 4000 employees for their tax evasion drive. and im interested. hehe. 6 years na ko nagwowork sa private but I still dont see my work as my retirement job. since I've heard maganda benefits sa government, i'm considering it as my option.

I checked BIR website and saw some job vacancies. kaso pano ba mag-apply dun sisses? pwede ba online or meron ba email directly to recruitment officer? wala kasi ako nakita sa site.

^ i suggest, punta ka directly sa HR nila, doon mo ipareceive ang documents mo. See to it meron kang received copy, para in case mag follow up ka, meron kang proof. From different agency ako, pero meron kasing cases na nawawala ang mga docs, sasabihin nila wala namang sinubmit.

madami bang exams and interviews? and kamusta ang interviews sa government posts? parang sa private companies lang din ba? kinakabahan ako baka may techinical questions about the economy or politics haha

Applied sa congress so far pds pa lang nasusubmit ko. Medyo matagal lang kasi after 3 weeks ko nagsubmit ng resume, nun pa lang ako pinagsubmit ng pds then after 2weeks pa ang next step. Ok ba sa congress mga sis?

4x a week pasok sa Congress kaya longer hours. May mga patay na panahon ie kapag recess.

Sabi nila mas okay daw mag apply sa govt kapag pasado ka ng Civil Service Exam. I luckily passed the October 2012 examination. Kaso wala akong idea saan govt agency magandang magapply. I am currently working sa isang private company (bank). 1 year plus pa lang ako dun pero ayoko na kasi basta, dami kong issues. All I know is gusto ko na lumipat ng work. Kaya sobrang happy ako when I passed the exam.

At first ayaw ko talaga mag work sa kahit saang government offices baka kasi kainin ako ng sistema pero yung mga barkada ko keep on encouraging me para lang raw may fix income makakapag practice pa rin naman raw ako.

Fortunately, I heed their advice and napunta ako sa government agency na di macocompromise prinsipyo ko.

yung permanent ba same as regular employee sa private company? Matagal pala mapermanent, pano yung benefits, meron din kahit hindi kapa permanent?

noong di pa ako permanent, mamamatay ka talaga sa inggit everytime narereceived ng mga permanent employees mga benifits and allowances nila. especially kapag december.
