hi mga sis, thanks sa mga advices. as of now i only allow my daughter to watch tv in the afternoon at night time hindi na. we're starting pa lang [textspeak!] before i let her watch mga 1-2 hours at night. although iniinssist pa din nya to watch tv and paulitulit nya sinasabi sa akin ang "eintein" or "sing along" dedma ko na lang isipin ko hihinto din naman sya, which she eventually did. i let her play her toys, do the puzzle and kapag asa mood na sya i read herbooks. i hope this will help talaga, i know double time talaga on my part, parang goal ko kapag asa bahay ako no tv, read and play lang with her.

i got her second assessment from therabilities and im happy naman cause in all aspects she improves naman.

last [textspeak!] i was reading her picture books and was able to identified naman almost un mag shapes, colors, etc. and i have noticed she improved na din in pronouncing mga words like before ang square nya eh "quare" and triangle nya ay "gle" now she was able to say it na much clearer.

our nextcheck up is on august 22, her diagnosed was "Communication Disorder rule out Sensory Integration Dysfunction vs. Autism Disorder" hidni naman daw autistic accdg to dr dimalanta, speech delayed daw and hyperactive. but now she can sit still na ng matagal.

hi mga sis..its been a while...share ko lang mga sis..the last time i read this forum was 2-3months ago and within that span of time may improvement naman yung anak ko..he can now clearly say 'mommy','daddy', 'lola' and 'kuya'..though for me malaking improvement na yun kasi before that he barely can't say any word..and sana magtuloy tuloy na siya..he is already 21 month old..pero sa next check up niya with his pedia consult ko na din yung about sa language niya para may ma-advise din siya sakin..

sinasanay ko na siya sa mga books and bawas talaga ang tv..alam niya naman lahat ng ituturo or commands namin yun nga lang di niya maverbalize...pag nga pinapaulit namin sa kanya yung sinasabi namin,di pa niya masabi and nag-smile lang siya samin...basta lagi lang namin siya kinakausap..parang gusto ko na nga din siya enroll sa mga language development classes,but i'll seek first his pedia's advice...

My baby's turning 18 months this 25th, wala pa din clear words. Ipapasok ko na siya sa play school sana makatulong

Oo sis big achievements na yan atleast may clear words na siyang nasasabi.

kaya thank you talaga din sa thread na to kasi dami kong natutunan and naghahanap nga din ako ng mga play school malapit dito samin,so far wala pa ko nahahanap..hehe..good luck sis satin and to our kids..

Trivia! Did you know that Einstein talked at a very late age. He talked when he was 4 already.

Is it bad to have this as basis if your son/daughter could still not speak at the right time and age?

^I believe it's a very poor basis. While it may sound comforting, Einstein is one in a million billion? Hehe. Not exactly a standard/norm. A parent cannot honestly believe that his/her child, no matter how smart, compares to Einstein's mental faculties. Speech delay is just one of the many complex factors concerning this genius's brain.

so happy with the assessment result of my baby with dra tippy yesterday. Findings: developmentally at par. then yung personal/social skills nya was rated 2.8 months e 2.1 pa lang sya today. other skills ok din. nung nag-eexplain na nga si dra about the results, sige pa rin ang exhibition ni baby with the assistant dra, sabi ni dra tippy, "ay mas tataas pa pala ang score mo dito" hehe. pero hindi na nya pinalitan kung saang skills pero i guess sa locomotor yun kasi that time nag-aakyat-baba na si baby sa stairs up to the bed, then panay jump na rin. speech nya rated 23 months pero ok pa rin daw yun. walang delay daw. and pwede na rin daw sya sa toddler class since marunong na daw sumunod at very good imitation skills.

while sa unang assessment ni baby with dra manalo when she was 19 months old e speech delay daw. and sabi nya noon mababa rin daw yung social skills ni baby kasi affected nga nung speech. though noon pa man kita naman namin na sociable na rin sya. ni hindi nga mahiyain eh at nakikihalo agad sa group of kids sa labas namin. i didnt put her on speech therapy just like her recommendations, instead i enrolled her in a playschool. with dra tippy's findings, mukhang hindi naman nya nirelate yung social skills sa speech. kasi bakit 23 months lang speech at 32months naman sa social. same griffiths scale ginamit nila.

binigyan nya kami ng referral for next year sa development screening. kahit once a year lang daw yun. screening daw muna si baby since at par naman sya ngayon though may risk sya sa speech dahil sa naging feeding difficulties nya nung maliit pa sya. pag failed, saka raw kami magpa-appointment sa kanya. mabuti na raw yung mabantayan.

Yung pamangkin ko 2yrs and 8months old pero hindi pa marunong magsalita. Marunong pala, dere derecho siya magsalta pero hindi talaga namin maintindihan, parang ibang language. Ang naiintindihan lang namin is yung mga one word lang like dede, tita, papa, mama, etc. Pero pag nagsasalita na siya, may sinasabi talaga siya pero hindi talaga namin maintindihan hehe

Hi mga sis, Tingin nyo ba connected yung pag taglish kay baby sa pagiging delayed talker? Kasi my baby's pedia is always telling us na if tagalog, tagalog lang. If english, english lamg.. Ang hirap kasi sa house namin or pag may kaharap na ibang tao, tnatagalog or taglish. 16months na si baby e tawag nya sa lahat mama or laging pag may gusto 'mmm' lang sinasabi.. Pero nakakaintindi sya and super active. Or pag kinokorek ginagawa nya naman. Concern lang ako sa mmm nya and mama lang na sinasabi..

saakin naman nasanay kasi siguro sa tv anak ko...nakakasalita naman siya ng words like mommy, daddy, apple, miaw miaw pero hindi pa isang buong sentence...

3 lang kasi kami sa bahay so ako lang tlaga ata daddy niya madalas niya nakakausap...hopefullt magka funds na kami para i enroll siya

Sis cocoyow yes it may some effect coz baka nacoconfuse ang baby mo which language he/she will use talaga..

Princess chill just keep on talking to your child. Kasi si miggy ko ganyan rin before to the extent na sinabi na baka autistic daw sabi ng isang pedia na tumingin sa kanya kasi emergency at the time and di nakin madala yung anak ko sa pedia nya talaga... But when we double check with his own pedia sabi may mga delayed talker lang talaga...

Now my son is 2 1/2 years old and super daldal na... We just keep on talking to him and maybe you should also do the same...

yah sis nabasa ko nga noong nag back read ako e...grabe iyon nh? siguro maprapraning ako sobra noon pag ganoon sinabi saakin...

hopefully pag nakapag school na siya mas matuto siya kasi dami na siya kausap e...

Ang hirap naman kasi, nung una lagi ko sinasabihan mga tao na english only. Kaso parang nakakapagod kasi parang sila na ang binabantayan ko..hay.. Lagi ko kinakausap si baby and nanunuod kami brainy baby. In fairness sa kay baby di sya nasanay manuod ng tv kahit lagi naka on tv sa room.. Anyway parang feeling ko kailangan ko sya ipatingin sa dp.. Pero is it too early for a 15 month old baby na ipatingin..

Raning ako nun.. Imagine di ganun kamura yung dr. Na nirecommend nya and gagastos kame ng ganun di naman pala autistic anak ko. Confused lang kasi pag andito lolas nya sa side ko they talk to him ng may halong spanish, pag daddy naman nya and ako english and chinese then sa labas tagalog.. Mahihilo talaga sya hahaha... But i suggest sis enroll mo sa gymboree. It helped miguel a lot to have confidence talking to other people..

Sis cocoyow, anak ko nagsalita na 2 yrs old and half na. Late kasi ang boys magsalita talaga.. Late talker sila. Late rin naglakad anak ko mga 1 and 3 mos naman.. Just be patient.. Boy ba sayo? If boy maku wait for his time

My 20mos old son is a bit delayed too. Naninibago ako cause his ate at this age eh you can converse with already ng diretso. Though I believe his vocabulary is average, if not above, he cant construct Lang phrases or sentences. His current word list (more than this pa but I forgot some of the words)

- mama, papa, yaya, tata (ate), Lola, yoyo (lolo), Nay (nanay for my grandma)
- car, bus, wide (ride), twuck (truck)
- corn, cooka (cookie), itsa (pizza), fries, juice, ogurt (yogurt), nana (banana), allows (mallows), ilk (milk), owange (orange), apple,
- this, that
- kick, ball, clap, peekaboo, hot, cold, bye, lo (hello), nappy (diaper), dog, horse, bird
- nose, ear, eye

Re first language, like for my daughter, his is English too. My husband doesn't speak Filipino so English talaga sila kausapin. Though for our son, I'm introducing Filipino early cause we're having a hard time now with my 5yo daughter since Hindi nasanay.

sis hunny dont worry boys most of the boys are late talkers talaga than girls.

I felt relieved when I read this article from Baby center. I hope this will help also other moms to at least feel a bit less worried with their toddlers
