sis blootrol, just to give you an idea, when I called a dev ped last month, May 28 ata, the next available slot was in January.. I got January 12...

but some of them call you should someone cancel their appointment.. i hope the NO TV policy and reading books help your child's speech development..

Mine also according to the pedia who look at my son due to constipation delayed daw anak ko. He's 18 months pa lang. Well di naman ako bothered kasi naiintindihan naman nya lahat ng sinasabi namin except he can only say few words. but he can convey his message clear through pointing, gestures and the likes.

@socxymom, ako we've decided to just wait for my son to take his time to start talking. ang important is he understands everything we said. I dont think na may autism sya. let's just continue talking to our kids and im sure they will learn our words little by little.

^oo nga sis..ako din observe ko din muna si li'l boy..basta happy naman si baby and very healthy...siguro sa part ko kasi,2nd baby na kasi namin siya and i know na mali na i-compare siya sa kuya niya..kasi yung eldest namin maaga nakapag salita kaya nung medyo na-notice ko na parang until now eh di pa rin siya nakakapag salita na-bother na ko..and according din sa mga nabasa ko dito sa thread, iba iba talaga ang development pace in every individual..:)

My son is 19mos pero limited pa din yung words nya. I'm not panicking though we were advised na wag mag tv ang hirap kasi fave nya ang disney junior. Pero we talk straight to him and read him books. He'll attend toddler school next month and i'm hoping that he'll learn to talk na talaga by then.

sa mga sis don't worry too much basta hindi pa lumalampas ng 3years old yung anak nyo ok lang yun.  Yung baby ko 3years old na nagsimulang magsabi ng mommy and ngayon ang daldal na.  Yung no TV policy may good and bad din honestly. Yung sa friend ko yung eldest nya no TV policy ayun kung magsalita YAYA accent and pure tagalog, yung 2nd niya mahilig sa TV and same with my son English speaking.
Huwag agad developmental pedia kasi kapag sobrang bata minsan na mimisdiagnose according to my pedia.
 Hope this helps.....

sis dont worry sa baby mo coz my son whe he was that old worried din ako kasi mama lang din nasasabi non specific pa basta lang siya nagsasabi ng ganun. at 17mos old lucky enaf nakapagpa schedule ako sa dep ped cos di ako magkakaron ng peace of mind till to know about my son's devt. since baby pa siya di pa makapag bigay ng concrete evaluation ang dep ped di naman daw niya nakikita ang signs of autism sa anak ko so pina ot kami but i stopped after a month kasi feeling ko di pa siya nagbebenefit sa ot kasi baby pa. as he grows unti unti lang din nadagdagan vocabulary niya at age 22mos now masasabi ko na my son is growing ok mentally kahit na limited speech but he is able to say words kahit na minsan ang lalayo sa exact words... delayed speech is sometimes normal lang sa bata di mo mapipilit magsalita pag di pa sila ready kaya be patient your baby will be talking soon at his own pace.... minsan kasi tao sa paligid nagbibigay ng pressure sa atin at sa baby para magsalita... follow your instinct as a mother...
correct ka sis, ako hindi ako nagpapapressure. Kasi I knew boys are really delayed talker and I observe
Kaya no worries. I let my son grow on his own
way!

Yah he eats a  lot of fruits and veggies. Well right now he was given Lilac and okay naman yung effect sa kanya. Okay pa dito is walang overdose sya, can be taken for long time. But of course ayoko naman magdepend baby ko dito rin.

eto pa ha, syempre di ba ang bata clingy pag di nya kilala yung tao na kausap natin right, pati yung pagiging clingy is sign daw ng autism and isa pa nung inask ako, is if organized daw kid ko sa things nya. I said he knows how to fix his toys after he play with them. And isa rin daw sign yun kasi dapat daw at this age makalat pa yan. eh syempre ganun kid ko eh nakikita nya na after he play with his toys, nililigpit namin so na-train sya ng maaga na he needs to put back things where he got them.

I called his Pedia sa Las Pinas after this pedia's observation super nagalit pedia ko. Kasi yung anak ko nga daw is advanced compared to other kids kaya inaantay lang nila na ready na kid ko to take IQ test to check his IQ level.

chicafabulosa, other than your son being organized, what are your pedia's basis for concluding that there is a possible autism sa son mo? My son who's now turning 3yrs old was super OC sa toys nya because we taught him to play his toys properly and keep them after playing.. he was like this since he began walking..

it'll be a help if you enroll your kids to a playgroup as it will encourage them to communicate.. lalo pa for kids who are nangingilala.. we had this problem kaya at 18months he joined a playclub.. it really helps..

when you're inside the elevator or when your'e walking up/down the stairs, you can count out loud too.. nursery songs also help..

Mga sis I hope this helps!
Early signs of autism in babies and toddlers
Doesn’t make eye contact (e.g. look at you when being fed).
Doesn't smile when smiled at.
Doesn't respond to his or her name or to the sound of a familiar voice.
Doesn’t follow objects visually.
Doesn't point or wave goodbye or use other gestures to communicate.
Doesn’t follow the gesture when you point things out.
Doesn’t make noises to get your attention.
Doesn’t initiate or respond to cuddling.
Doesn’t imitate your movements and facial expressions.
Doesn’t reach out to be picked up.
Doesn’t play with other people or share interest and enjoyment.
Doesn’t ask for help or make other basic requests.

The following delays warrant an immediate evaluation by your child’s pediatrician.

By 6 months: No big smiles or other warm, joyful expressions.
By 9 months: No back-and-forth sharing of sounds, smiles, or other facial expressions.
By 12 months: Lack of response to name.
By 12 months: No babbling or “baby talk.”
By 12 months: No back-and-forth gestures, such as pointing, showing, reaching, or waving.
By 16 months: No spoken words.
By 24 months: No meaningful two-word phrases that don’t involve imitating or repeating.

ALWAYS REMEMBER MGA SIS DEVELOPMENTAL PEDIA LANG ANG PWEDENG MAGSABI IF MAY PROBLEM ANG BATA OR WALA, KAHIT DR. PA SILA IF THEY ARE NOT DEVELOPMENTAL PEDIA WALA SILANG K!  ;D

Wala as in yun lang and pagiging clingy daw. malamang kasi di naman sya kilala and first time pa lang sya nakita. natural reaction sa bata yun lalo na hahawakan sila di ba. He make his message cross by showing, pointing and making gestures. Kaya nagulat yung talagang Pedia ng anak ko na first time pa lang nakita nung Pedia na yun anak ako eh nasabi na agad na autistic anak ko.

Mga sis I hope this helps!
