^ thanks sis marose. sila pa lang tumawag sakin eh. yung iba puro lang wait ng tawag. nisked na nga nila si baby sa monday. hindi ko na nga muna ituloy dun. kasi baka mamya imbes maging maayos e mas magkaroon ako ng problema waaa.

so far naman po ngayon may improvement na rin si baby. alam na nya yung "wala na" with hand action. apple- with very pointed lips sa "P" haha. and alam na rin nya yung milk kaso "mimi" ang tawag nya.

sis ganun din case ng son ko pina evaluate ko siya when he was 17mos old kasi that time [textspeak!] pang alam na words. request siya for ot first 1hr 2x a week bago speech therapy. yon na nga since sa age niya talagang wala pa sa focuse during the ot di na nasusunod ng teacher niya ang designed program so parang sayang lang din yung binabayad ko. after a month pinatigil ko muna anak ko. so far sa ngayon may development narin sa speech niya even without therapist help 21mos na siya ngayon. ganun lang talaga siguro mga bata they have their own pace of devt.

i see mine is 1yr 6 months and 2 weeks old. medyo konti palang din alam niyang words like papa, mama, baby, go go for dog, wow, namnam, hala, lagot ka, wala, pooh, pho pho, lola, chia chia for food and bo be pag ayaw niya. yung mga animal sounds may alam narin siya konti. ang likot sobra ng anak ko eh lalo na pag sa labas kami pag sa resto ang hirap kasi palitan kami sa pagkain kasi konting subo lang then bababa na siya eh gusto na mag explore ulit, hehe. sorry ha medyo out of the topic na ata ito i don't know if there's a thread about this. ask ko lang po normal po ba sa kids at her age yung mahirap pakainin lalo na pag sa labas and super likot and short palang yung attention niya? thanks po sa magrereply

^ Yes, normal lang iyan.  Toddlers like to explore and are very curious.   

Always talk to your toddler in complete sentences and read to her daily.  Reading really fosters language development.

Pamangkin ng hubby ko 1.7years di pa din nagsasalita. Kahit mama or dada. Worried nga kami kasi yan ang basics dba. "Me" lang daw alam niya. Mama daw yun. ? When will you know ba if delayed talker ang bata lagpas 2years old?

Just so you do not panic, my sons at 1 year old definitely did not speak 10 words nor 1-word sentences, at 1 1/2, definitely not 100, somewhere in the 20-30 range siguro.
But they were regularly checked by a dev pedia who said that their receptive language was at par with their age and their expressive language was emerging pa lang.

But when they were 3 years old, an explosion of language occurred, maybe because they also started going to school a few weeks before they turned 3.  They're turning 4 next month and they could really speak 4-7 word sentences, in Filipino and English.  I'm also pretty sure they know 1500+ words.  I am often amazed that they could construct sentences that are grammatically correct and usage-wise, correct din.

Exposure to books helped a lot, followed by conversing with them often.  We speak to them as if they were adults.  I never baby talked to them.

our daughter started talking at age 3.  and hindi din sya nag crawl, started walking at exactly age 1...  i remember my pedia telling me that if next visit di parin mag talk, we need to seek help, ayun by next visit namin sa kanya ang daldal na!

My son is 1.6 yrs. old, he knows how to say ma, mame, papapa, babaw (up), babap (my cousin), oy (joy), inde (hindi), mamang, naynay, yaya, didi.. and the simple short words, kung ano marinig niya ginagaya niya, pa-isa isa lang...

Pero may time he would say a straight parang sentence na, combination of all different sounds as if he wants to say something and he's talking to you.. nakakatuwa... I would just say "Kyle what? What are you saying, tell mommy... sige na tell mommy, and I say Ok, yes Baby.. hehe.." then he just continue saying those sounds...

ako naman mga mommies 14 months and 2 weeks na si baby wala padin siyang nasasabing word talaga. spur of the moment nasasabi niya Mamamama, pero super minsan lang talaga. Praying pa din kami

sis dont worry sa baby mo coz my son whe he was that old worried din ako kasi mama lang din nasasabi non specific pa basta lang siya nagsasabi ng ganun. at 17mos old lucky enaf nakapagpa schedule ako sa dep ped cos di ako magkakaron ng peace of mind till to know about my son's devt. since baby pa siya di pa makapag bigay ng concrete evaluation ang dep ped di naman daw niya nakikita ang signs of autism sa anak ko so pina ot kami but i stopped after a month kasi feeling ko di pa siya nagbebenefit sa ot kasi baby pa. as he grows unti unti lang din nadagdagan vocabulary niya at age 22mos now masasabi ko na my son is growing ok mentally kahit na limited speech but he is able to say words kahit na minsan ang lalayo sa exact words... delayed speech is sometimes normal lang sa bata di mo mapipilit magsalita pag di pa sila ready kaya be patient your baby will be talking soon at his own pace.... minsan kasi tao sa paligid nagbibigay ng pressure sa atin at sa baby para magsalita... follow your instinct as a mother...

we're undergoing the same situation with our son mga sis, ishare ko lang. he recently turned 2 but less than 5 words pa lang ang nasa2bi niya. his daily routine is watching toy story and astroboy dvds. if he makes tantrums, we use these dvds as 'tranquilizer'. most of the times siya na ang nagaabot samen ng dvd pra iplay namin. we seldom get his attention. there are times he says something to us but we never understand what he's trying to say. i had compared him with her ate and cousin. before her ate turned 2, sobrang dami and clear na ng nasa2bi niya. there were also some elders who noticed na wala pang alam na salita ang son ko. so we've decided to seek help from a specialist.
since walang developmental pedia sa hospital na pinuntahan namin, sa gen pedia na lang. she asked us some questions about what our son usually does at home and at the same time observed what he
was actually doing while we were in the clinic. then she concluded that girls tend to clearly speak at an earlier stage compared to boys but it still depends on the child. she said my son's case may be caused by his daily routine. but she thought that it's kinda early to take  him to a developmental pedia since he only turned 2 less than a month ago and speech or behavioral problem arises between 2 and 3 yrs old. so she advised us to put him first under observation for 1 or 2 months doing the following before taking the next action:
1. avoid watching dvds or tv.
2. read stories. teach him shapes, colors, alphabet etc
3. always interact with him or let him interact
with other kids
4. let him watch learning videos but only for an hour a day.

so there, we're going to try these first and see what happens.

^ In the meantime, during this observation period, I suggest you call up clinics of developmental pedias na.  It is really hard to get a slot.  You have to wait for several months to get an appointment.  Sayang ang time.

My daughter at 2.5 months, konti lang as in konti lang sinasabi.. We decided her to enroll at Gymboree for 1 month lang. Trial lang. Sobra laking improvement. She is so madaldal and nagwiden [textspeak!] vocabulary nya sa English! Amazing!! Okay talaga na may socialization ang bata especially na walang kalaro.. Ako lang kasi parati nyang kasama...
