^PS pala on my post:

If your baby has a yaya, you may want to ask her to read the book aloud before you buy it, para malaman mo kung kumportable syang basahin.  Generally kasi di ba, kung paanong magsalita ang caretaker (whether mom, lola or yaya) ganun din ang nakukuhang pagsasalita ng bata.  ;)

Thanks for the tip sis. I always correct yaya nga kasi hindi maiwasan yung bisaya accent nya. Pero I read to my child, for the yaya - flash cards lang.

@ DV:  Good point. I always read a book first before buying it for fear na may sablay sa editing.  If naka-plastic pa, I ask the sales person if I can remove it so I can take a look at the book.

I don't ask the yayas to read the stories to my sons. I correct my sons naman on pronunciation and this is why gusto ko na silang ipasok sa preschool - para matuto rin sila ng tamang diction and grammar.  Not that there is anything wrong with the Bisayan accent ha.  This is why I encourage our helpers to speak with my sons in Filipino, not English.  I also want my sons to learn Filipino para hindi mahirapan sa school later on.  Marami kasing kids ngayon magaling sa English pero bokya in Filipino.

@ Rain, medyo strange naman in my opinion yung former teacher ng daughter mo, aside from your previous kuwento (thru PM) to me.  Unless your child was disrupting the whole class, her gregariousness should not be viewed as something negative.

yung younger son ng SIL ko delayed talker din 3 years old na sya pero a and u pa din ang kaya lang sabihin pero nakakaintindi naman sya kapag may gusto sya as in tinuturo nya lang or kukunin nya yung kamay mo para hilahin ko yung ganun. sabi daw ng pedia nothing wrong with the kid delayed talker lang daw talaga sya pero wala naman advise yung pedia kung ano yung dapat gawin para makahabol sya sa stage nya.

any advise sis kasi mukhang nahihirapan yung SIL ko find time to go for therapy kasi working mom sya at yung hubby nya ay seaman naman so most of the time sya lang talaga ang nag-aalaga sa mga anak nya plus the yaya. I really like his son kasi mukhang bibo at madaling turuan sayang naman ang pagiging guapo nung bata.

thanks in advance

^ I suggest that your SIL should take her son to a developmental pedia to be assessed.  The DP will recommend an intervention program, such as speech therapy, for the child.

Nakatutok ba sa tv the whole day yung kid?  If so, that may be a factor for his delayed speech.

agree. my daughter once pointing something on the book, we were away from her, we just see her pointing at it and saying, "Nick, nick!" Pasimple lang ako, ahhhh, pero really di ko na gets and the yaya said, "Nick daw!" Pointing at her neck! harharhar. super LOL talaga.

Or ang word na Open, Hershey says, O-pin! hehe.

sorry, i really just find it funny. pero natuturuan naman ang anak ko. she says that fews months ago (i even posted it sa FB status ko kasi naaliw talaga ako) pero now she says it correctly.

He's planning to enrol the yaya sa short course english class. ay kaloka!

^ sis how old na ba ang anak mo? most kids, they learn on their own time. merong ibang bata medyo nauuna meron ding iba, tama lang. pero kung feeling mo talaga late, for your own peace of mind you should let your kid see a specialist na. masasagot lahat ng tanong mo, mapapanatag ka.

we just keep on talking to her. we take her out tapos we point to whatever and tell her what it is. when i am doing something i talk din, like: mommy will fix your toys. mommy will sleep. mommy loves joehna. so bigla na lang siya talk lately, when she sees me sleeping or when she's sleepy she says "shleep"... her i love you is "love love love" he he he. just talk to your child. oh my child is kinda shy to talk pag iba tao.

picture books really help. buy some for your child. tapos pag nasa car or before siya mag nap or nasa mood talaga siya, read it with her/him.

marose, my daughters love The Very Hungry Caterpillar na din. pag careful na sila, ill buy the pop out version super nice talaga!!! sayang kasi if i buy it now tapos mapunit. the new books i bought may konti punit na. LOL!

my daughter and his dad went to the bookstore and bought more picture books na pili ng daughter ko. haha! nakaka-aliw.

as suggested by the specialist sa australia (based kami dun) patignan ko daw auditory ng son ko just to make sure nothing  is problem though obviuosly di naman sya bingi, tamad lang din

So yesterday I brought him to auditory pediatrics and pinatingin ko ears nia, cleaning ang nagawa sa knya and today he is scheduled for playauditory test (suggested to sa kanya according sa age nia). Problem ko is dunno if he will cooeprate kasi sabi nung kuha ako ng schedule for this, at home daw suotan ko daw ng head phone then instruct him to raise his hands or drop the toys pag me narining sya sound. Short ang attention sya eh but there times na okay naman so di ko masabi din. Sana maging successful and cooperative sya. Within the day din kuha ng result.

Hirap kasi dun di basta makakakuha ng sched and dadaan pa sa GP at dapat me recommendation nila.

^^ Joefe, you can get used but in good condition naman board books at Books for Less (though hindi ko pa na-try) if you are hinayang na magusot ang books. ;D

Seriously, I love The Very Hungry Caterpillar - it teaches about counting, days of the week, the difference between night and day and different types of food.  The artwork is amazing too.

my son right now is 2 1/2 yr old...puro yung last syllable lang ang sinasabi nya...pero im glad nakikipagcommunicate na sya, unlike dati...feeling ko its my fault kase hnd ko sya natutukan sa pagaalaga since birth kase magkasunod sila ng kuya nya kaya less attention for my second baby...
hay ang hirap maging mommy...ngaun bumabawi na ako sa baby ko, i always play with him...and i think its the best way to teach a child to communicate...
