^ We all grew up from drop side cribs and there was never a prob naman in any model or type of cot or playpen that we buy it's just important that we check the materials used and that it's properly installed for the movable parts we can always add some additional safety bolts, screws or locks. ^ gree, it doesn't say on the article naman that are all unsafe. may tips lang on what to look for to help ensure they are safe, like you lock nga nung rail.

if we had the space at home, gusto ko pa din sana ng wooden crib.

we've decided to get a chicco lullbay lx playard. feeling ko kasi mas practical siya than getting a crib then later on a playpen.

i have the chicco lullabye lx playard too..yung meron sounds, vibration ekek.nightlight..remote, bassinet and changing table.
 we have the green one,,sa babiesrus namin pinabili..definitely cheaper sa US kesa dito..lalo na nabili ng friend ko ng sale. ok sya..we were able to use it talaga. noong una ok yung music and vibrations..pero eventually di na namin ginamit tinamad kami gamitin..mas ok kasi i-hele sa arms ang baby eh.
noong 7months na ang baby namin (shes almost 8months now)..we dropped the bassinet attachments, took out the music console, and the changing table.. bought a 4 inch mattress from uratex for P500.. may crib na kami uli.
during the day this is where she sleeps and play

liyapot, thanks for your feedback on the chicco lullabye. definitely mas mura nga sa US kaso di namin alam paano ipapauwi dito. no relatives coming before i give birth in december. my brother is coming home for a vacation february pa. sayang yung price difference pero baka ganon din kung ipapa-ship ko dito.

glitterminded, it's 16k at rustan's and SM pero pag sa amazon or babiesrus, mga 8k+ lang lumalabas.

^ sa amazon, itong item na ito can be shipped within the US lang. madami naman shippers like pobox.ph, $80 yata yung biggest box nila pero hindi kasya don yung playard so kung ish-ship siguro yon as is with box and all, most likely mas mahal pa sa $80 ang shipping. mas mura pa din ng konti compared to rustan's and SM pero dito na lang din siguro ako bibili kesa ma-hassle pa.

we bought ours last year pa.. memorial day sale nabili ng friend ko..for only $126.16 sa babiesrus.. hinde online po..sa mismong store nya nabili.
at that time kasi ang dami kong nabiling baby stuff online which i addressed to my friend..mas mura kasi doon eh..
tapos when she shipped it around $50 ang presyo yata for the crib only.. kasi irregular shaped sya... so kung i-compute ko sya (126 + 50) $176 at P48 ang palit less than P9,000 pa din so namurahan pa din ako.
swerte lang ako kasi pinagbigyan ako ng friend ko na sya magasikaso mag ship ng mga gamit ko.

pwede ka magpa compute sa pobox.com or manila forwarders kung magkano pag irregular shaped ang box..actually what happened sa amin was akala ng friend ko kasya sya sa regular balikbayan box. kaso nung dumating na yung time for her to ship it to me.. nakita nya even the largest BBox hinde kakasya.. i-return nya na lang sana sa store pero kinausap nya muna ako..so nag-usap kami.. nag ask sya for quotation sa manila forwarders.. sinabi nya presyo sa akin..compute kami..mas mura pa din lumalabas kasi nabili nya ng sale ang crib..  kaya nag-go kami.

^ thanks for that! actually, di din pa ako tumawag sa pobox.ph, just looked at their website and the box measurements and assumed na mahal. pero sabi ko sa husband ko assignment niya na tawagan sila to inquire.

kasi plano ko din sana if ever pati stroller and convertible car seat sa US na lang kasi mas mura, but then again, hindi kasya sa biggest box ng pobox.

problema ko lang sa chicco playard was the kind of tela they used..
my baby is almost 8 months and can stand na ..problema she gnaws on the rails..ok sana di ba? kasi tela naman and not wood.. kaso the tela they used for the playard has this weave-y sinulid/netlike on top of the tela..
di ko inakala na magkaron ako ng problema tungkol dun..kasi naka-ilang pabalik balik ako sa rustans at chicco store last year para suriin mabuti ang crib..
anyway ang problema ko kasi sumasabit yung sinulid sa 2 ipin ni baby so parang nagfo-floss sya eh ang worry ko baka kaka-kagat nya eh matanggal yung ipin nya..problema ko yun last week.... this week iba na..she lost interest sa tela..yung plastic corners naman ang kinakagat nya!!! waaahhh!! hahaha!
so now im looking for rail guards that would fit playards.

upon checking my records..i spent $122 for the shipping ng lahat ng gamit ni baby last year.. 1 big box and 1 irregular box na yun

16k na pala sya ngayon..alam mo ba when i first saw that crib in chicco filinvest last year..ang presyo nyan was around 13k only..

^ nabasa ko nga yung post mo about that. iniisip ko di anong solution meron dyan. wala din akong makitang rail guard para sa playard. nagtanong ako sa chicco gb5 about the rail guard, as usual, clueless ang SA. 

yung dimensions pala na ginamit ko as basis for the shipping rate eh product dimensions, so dimensions siya pag naka setup yung playard, hindi dimensions ng box. kaya pala ang mahal ng computation ng manila forwarders sa website nila - $300+! naghahanap pa ako ng dimensions ng box kasi gusto ko muna manigurado sa shipping fee before i buy.

anyway..natapon ko na yung box eh.. if i remember correctly dun sa box pahaba sya.. it's the same as the stroller box.. kasi disassembled yung crib..if i have to guess mga 35inches ang length ng box and around 10 to 15 inches ang width/height

ang mahal nman ng quote sa iyo.. pobox yan?? go for manila forwarders..though meron pa ginagamit ang friend ko na mas mura sa manila forwarders.. mailplus yung pangalan.. sa CA  ito ha. pero for that bbox i chose manila fwdrs kasi mas mabilis

clueless eto itsura ng naka-fold na chicco playard..ganyan din ang itsura when you take it out of the box..
so from the picture..take a wild guess na lang sa dimensions..

@ prettyarcher only one side of the railings can be adjusted, the bed can be adjusted as well that's why if u lower the bed down
and lower the railings or removed it perhaps it can be a toddler bed na, will ask hubs if he was able to keep the box

go to uratex.. mas cheap pa dun kesa sa SM ka bumili. pwede customized ang size just tell them yung dimensions and kung gaano ka-thick ang mattress
we bought one for our chicco playard. 26 x 34 x 4" ang size..less than P500 ang binayaran namin sa uratex.with cover na yun ha
