Meron pala nito: http://www.femalenetwork.com/girltalk/index.php/topic,207155.140.html

Mods, please consolidate or erase this one hehe

^ Sis, gusto talaga namin no entourage regardless of the location. Main thing is ayaw ni boyfriend ng two ceremonies. Ako din I don't see the point of doing the vow thing twice (kahit template pa the first and personalized the other). E gusto niya beach wedding, not just beach reception.

Catholic ka din ba? Nakakainis yung rule na bawal magkasal outside church noh? Although I do understand the reasons given by the church. But still.. It makes it harder for us. Agnostic pa naman ako. Nakakatempt tuloy magchange, haha.

BTW, I backread the thread up there and the Beach Weddings 2012 one. I found two resorts with chapels where people can get married:
1. Virgin Beach Resort Batangas
2. Kabayan Resort Laiya Batangas - I've been to this place. Hindi ko feel. Andaming tao. Although summer kasi nun when we went there.

kelan ba plan mo sis?

I think your only choice is to have a Church ceremony and an outdoor/beach reception. Unless you want to get a special dispensation from the Vatican and who wants to go through all that trouble? Haha. My friends got married at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, then reception at Club Punta Fuego in Batangas. I think you need membership though, but baka you can ask your friends if they know someone who can sponsor you.

Another friend got married in La Union. Church wedding then beach reception sa Thunderbird Resort. Or you can always fly to Boracay or Cebu or Bohol, where there are plenty of Churches for reception and then the beaches are nearby lang.

@lakwatsa: Yun nga sis. Kasi if go with beach wedding, it becomes a civil wedding with all the frills of a church one because there's no priest that will marry us on the beach. We want a church wedding pa din. Anyways, you are not alone. Hindi ko rin nagustuhan yung reception set-up by the beach (so far sa mga nakita ko). Actually, hindi ko mapicture yung reception sa beach, yung ceremony lang talaga. I just want a beach wedding because I think it'll be more laid-back than having it somewhere else.

@caterpillar-girl: Yeah sis. I figured that's the only way. How was the food in Punta Fuego? Thunderbird? Do they accept outside caterers?

It would really be nice to get married in Bohol. sunrise beach wedding, long shoreline, wet sand beneath our feet, breakfast reception and the after-party at Danao Adventure park where then hubby and I will really take the "plunge"http://www.eatdanao.com/plunge.html wearing our wedding attire. I could only hope. Although we can still do the plunge by going there for honeymoon. ;D

Joining mga sis:)

Our's will be a beach reception naman, and church pa din ang ceremony kasi nga di talaga allowed outside the church ang mismong ceremony. We have chosen a really far place from manila for the venue. It'll be at mactan cebu. We have a very small guestlist, 27adults including us na and then around 7 kids lang. Good thing about this set-up, bukod sa intimate talaga dahil konti pang kame, i believe our budget will be sulit. It's more of get-together talaga dahil we'll all be together for 3-days. And kahit na destination wedding siya, we made it a point to have it as a budgeted wedding. We booked suppliers locally para no oot fee. Diy's for most of the paraphernalia's. I have set a specific amount lang for every supplier, pag sobra agad sa alloted we eliminate agad para hindi na gumulo pa ang isip namen.

And we started scouting as early as last year, since we knew what we wanted na and how we wanted it to be, everything followed. It helps a lot din na my husband is budget conscious kaya ako din napipigilan ko yung sarili ko sa mga 'nice to have-s'. We are just so excited na, we'll be having our sweet round two wedding in a way na gusto namen, within our budget and with the people na tlagang nagmamahal sa min.

Happy preps mga sis:)

Crammer: The food in Punta Fuego was good. The food in La Union... not so much, hehe. At least that’s how I remember it. Maybe it depends on the menu. I don’t remember if you can bring outside caterers in Punta Fuego, but I don’t think you can for Thunderbird.

Hope this helps.

Crammer Planner I think Boracay is nice for a church ceremony and beach reception because the church is very close to the resorts so it still has a beach feeling!  Like my guests walked along the beach from the church to the reception (SeaWind which is only a 5 minute walk. There is another resort, Estacion Uno which is closer to the hotel, less than 5 minutes).  I inquired before sa Aquatico, Batangas but I think the church is not that close to the resort. Its unfortunate nga na the Catholic chuch do not allow weddings outside the church. :( During our canonical interview, the priest in Boracay said actually they have a project/plan of building a small chapel close to the beach to accommodate couples. Hope it will push thru kaso i dont see it soon!

Anyamcbeal when i read your post, i remembered my hubby, super budget-conscious when we were planning for the wedding so ako din napigilan ko sarili ko sa mga nice-to-haves! :)  Ours was also of a reasonable budget, mas mahal pa nga ang mga weddings sa Manila na nababasa ko.

Hi sis shegie_285

:) i once visited your wedding blog sis and I must say na you were so pretty on your wedding day. Your gown was super pretty. And your wedding was awesome!!sa totoo lang we've never been to boracay kaya di sya nakasama sa list namen. Maybe sa renewal of vows:) i remember your kuwento about really maximizing your budget, kasi kahit destination wedding siya, you wanted to follow the budget na you set for it. Pareho tayo sis, medyo mahal compared sa isang manila wedding, pero dapat masulit every penny kasi vacation-party in one na ang idea namin. We won't shell out talaga that amount of money kung sa manila siguro ang wedding.

And your right, i am able to resists any temptations to get nice-to have's  kasi nga we have to follow and prioritize the must-have's first. Now I can say na, for our budget, we'll be having the wedding of our dreams, together with our closest family and friends.

anyamcbeal aww thanks sis for your compliments. :) My hubby and I were in boracacay and he fell in love with it, non-negotiable nya! Mas mahal lang ang wedding package and food package  ng resort compared sa Manila pero all the other suppliers reasonable cost talaga - local suppliers nga para walang OOT. :) The list sis - hubby checked on it everytime because of the budget! hehe.. Hindi ko na nga pinapakita sa kanya.

Masaya ang destination kase everyone's happy, lahat high  all your guests will enjoy joy.  Im sure you will have an awesome wedding too! Cebu/Bohol is next on our Philippines vacation list. :)

Hi mga sis.. pajoin! kainggit!! We wanted a beach wedding kaya lang medyo hindi pa enough yung budget namin. Hopefully pag nagrenewal of vows kame e beach na. YEY!

Would just like to share.. if you're okay with the idea na hindi priest ang magkasal sa inyo e you can opt to get a solemnizing officer instead. That's what we did kasi pareho kami catholics kaya lang ayaw namin ng restrictions ng church kasi napaka impersonal then ayaw din naman namin magpakasal sa office ng mayor. With an SO (solemnizing officer) we were able to stage the personal, fun and unconventional wedding that we wanted.  ;)

Hi beanpipe! Sorry my question may sound a bit stupid. Is the solemnizing officer a pastor or judge or what? Thanks! :)
