A friend of mind was married to his husband on civil rites. Catholic ang religion niya samantalang yung lalaki Christian. If two would compromise with the situation, it will still be a happy ending.

My husband is Chinese and Buddhist we married in a Catholic Church though and signed from the church stating that our future children will be baptized as Catholic as well, he doesn't have any problem with that and I don't have problem going to their temple to pray it's just a matter of respect in once faith. So our different religion was never an issue to issue and hopefully it wont in the future ;)

Question:

What if the partner is INC? Can they marry each other in civil if the other partner is Catholic?

^Aww. That's nice to know. Ikaw na yung nagpa convert para makapagbalik loob siya. I'm sure bukal na loob mo magpa convert.  :D

it matters. a lot. even when you're both not as devout as you'd think, of course it has an effect on the relationship. where you get your values, your principles- affected pa din yan ng religion.

but of course, it doesn't mean it's a definite no, it will not work. but i think being realistic about it, admitting that it can cause problems, is a much better way of handling it than arrogantly thinking that love conquers all.

:P

I'm a catholic and Jewish Christian si Bf (sabadista) ok naman kami. actually 5th year anniversary namin tomorrow. Yey! :) bawal talaga sa religion nila na mgkarelationship with other religion. Wala daw sya magawa kasi ako ang gusto nya.  ;D (kilig!) ok naman kami so far, we just respect each others beliefs. if were ready na to get married, we plan to do it civil. As long as there is respect and love for each other, everything will be alright.  ;)

Take Shamcey (Supsup)'s advice on Relationships and Religion - that's some good advice.

Although, I did hook up with a few muslim girls -- mmmm. :)

I'm a Born Again Christian and my hubby's a Seventh Day Adventist. We always fight about food na bawal sa kanila, and some doctrines regarding the bible. Mahirap talaga. :( Civil wedding lang kami, pero if hindi kami on a time crunch and budget (with the baby on the way), Christian wedding kami. His family doesn't mind naman.

He's not close minded naman to the fact that he might be a Born Again someday, kasi dun na siya nag-aattend sa amin. Pero as of now, hindi pa raw. Ayoko rin naman kasi ng pilitan.

another question, un mag bf gf ba kayo have u talked about converting na, para kasi sakin everytime nia ako hinihikayat eh he's rushing na yata  for marriage.

^ sis, if you're asking if pwede ba maging mag-bf/gf ang isang INC and non-INC, hindi rin. matitiwalag din yung INC. he/she has to convince his/her bf/gf to convert para hindi sya matiwalag. i am not an INC, but my ex-bf (who's also the father of my son) was, so i have an idea how things work from an INC's standpoint.

actually sa INC, mag bf at gf pa lang bawal na, supposedly ititiwalag nga pero madalas binibigyan naman ng chance, i mean wala pa ako nabalitaan na nag bf o gf na natiwalag. natitiwalag na lang pag nagpakasal ng di naconvert yun isa or nag live in.

Hello there - I am unable to find a suitable topic where I can post my "problem". My bf of 6 months is an active member of Iglesia ni Cristo while I am an active member of my church (Seventh Day Adventist). Everything is working well with our relationship except our conflict in religion. We dare not talk about it as we are trying to avoid conflicts which might eventually lead to arguments and worst, breakup.

I know someday we will have to deal with this but I am afraid of losing him. I have met his family and they are nice to me. My family treats him well too. I don't know how to resolve our issue.

Has anyone here experienced the same? Please share your thought as I am serious in keeping our relationship and am hoping that we would get married and have our own family someday. Thanks!
