Our set up naman is we don't combine our paychecks. What we do is we have our own "toka". Sya sa groceries, rice and water bill, load for 1 month namin, pang footspa at pedicure ko. He doesn't earn much but at least he has his share of expenses sa house.

So combined income, I pay all our bills, expenses, etc. Hehe

We don't have any issues on this setup.

ganito ba talaga setup if both of you are earning every month?
then i asked him what if unemployed na ko, ipapahawak nya ba lahat ng sweldo niya sakin? sagot niya "hindi" :)

Been married for 7 years, and my hubby gives all his salary (basic) to me except his honorarium for his daily allowance (which includes fuel, car maintenance, cp load) at para may pambili din daw sya ng gifts nya para sa akin :D hehe. I am also working so we combine our salary plus our income for our small business and i am the one who budgets and manage our finances. So far, we're okay with this set up.

Hi may i join.

Newly wed din kami and my hubby is a seaman. 70% of his salary saakin, dun ko kinukuha yung monthly amortization ng condo namin and sa medical expensenses ko ngayon because i'm preggy. I work din and my salary is mine. Pero pag nandito sya for vacation, nireremit nya parin saakin lahat ng income nya while aboard. Sa mga leisure expenses namin ako ang nagbabayad, i have my cc din at supplementary ko lang sya. We have our own bank account.

So far okay naman kasi hindi maissue yung husband ko, he give everything saakin basta kaya nya.Pero by next year siguro after ko manganak will resign na sa work at ituloy ko yung law study ko since un ang gusto nya, from there..he'll pay for my tuition and sa lahat na ng expenses. We have  our business din naman sa province pero yung kita nun direcho sa savings namin. I'm not good in budgeting pero he trust me parin hehe. Learning parin ako and hindi naman gumagastos pag hindi kailangan, it takes two to tango.

medyo nagkakaissue na ko sa money kasi ako ang nagsshoulder ng 80% ng monthly amortization namin. to think na hindi nya ginawang joint account yung checking account na hinuhulugan ko buwan buwan. wala lang, pero sabi nga nila wala akong magagawa kasi ako lang yung may work samin. yung bahay expenses as of now sagot ng parents niya. usapan namin utang muna nya sakin yung 30% tapos pag may work na sya babayaran nya ko. kaso kung ganon na nga ano panggastos namin sa bahay? edi galing na naman sa akin. hay. mahirap yata na pinasok namin yung condo investment when ako pa lang yung rumaraket.

We have access to each other's accounts and just pool our money to pay the bills and save what's left :)

How long na ba kayo nagbabayad sa condo nyo?

recently, hubby finally decided to surrender his ATM and credit cards to me  :) kasi magastos sya masyado. ngayon, naawa naman ako sa kanya. walang pambili or panggastos. pero mas nakaka-save naman kami. yung sweldo nya, nilalagay ko most of it sa joint savings namin.

I have control over our money, his ATM, his credit card and our savings. He doesn't handle finances well. Grabe he can spend 10k in a few days pag hawak nya atm nya. So I'm holding on to his atm now and I give him baon everyday  8)

Traditional pa rin, what's his is mine, what's mine is mine!
I followed my mom's advice of course, hehe, wala namang reklamo si hubby, saka siya naman kusang nagbibigay sa akin ng salary niya ever since we got married. ;)

for me and hubby, what we follow is to list all the expenses we incur monthly, add the savings, then the sum will be divided into two. yun ang share nya na ibibigay  sa akin every payday so i can pay for all the bills and add more to the savings. now whatever is in excess from our salary is kanya kanya na. his atm and credit cards are with him and i have mine with me.

i am not comfortable with the idea that the wife has the atm because my personal take on it is that what if some emergency happens? allowance lang ang mahuhugot nya sa wallet, ang hirap naman nun. i want him to have this freedom since excess na lang naman ang meron sya.

She makes a list of all expenses, savings, etc. Then we talk about it and agreed. Basta may fixed allowance kami pareho monthly. Ganun kasimple...My 3rd post ...

Sis paramore11 : we have somewhat the same issue. We're both employed, before I said I'll get his salary pero nahihiya naman ako pag money matters na so I just let him. Indi ko na lang ini-issue ever again about whose going to handle the money kasi I have my own nga.

Oo nga sis, yun na siguro ang best way. Kakastart pa lang namin magbayad this August, and yung reservation fee naman binigay ng mother niya plus yung cash nya at that time. Ngayon, we tried tabulating it on MS Excel para nattrack yung share namin until the 4th year of payment. Sacrifice na muna ako.
