i had a successful facial event yesterday..
got a contract to facial 100 teachers...
with my support of my business partners.. was able to serve them all..
got another offer from school organizers to do the same next month... yeheeey!!

update sa kakilala kong nagsabi na tubong lugaw daw itong business, e ngayon binebenta na nya gamit nya. 

I asked why, hirap daw sya lalo kung hindi hands on, tapos mataas daw ang rent.

Probably one of two things:

1. Marketing problem (not enough customers, not enough ways to generate repeat customers, etc)
2. Operations problem (not maximizing his staff, not auditing, etc)

Very true.

All businesses fail for practically the same reasons, and can be made profitable by things that work in another different business. Just a different tweak for each industry.

Referrals, repeat business, and getting new customers are the three things that make a business, a business. If these three don't happen, your just trying to make a profit, not creating a real business.

what I learned from my mom's clinic is that repeat/referral customers are the ones that you really get profit from... kaysa yung mga walk-in

nagbackread na po ako and found a lot of tips which might be a big help to start sa nail spa..and i noticed na dami din questions kung me info about training as nail  technician..

baka meron kayong alam na training as nail technician..pashare naman. its good to start na atleast me alam ako sa mga gawain ng mga staff ko or mas maganda kung ako na lang ang magtrain sa kanila para kahit absent sila puede na ako ang gumawa sa mga gawain nila

Business is like marriage you have to commit your self to it wholeheartedly or what we say with passion. If not, then it will fail.

Spend time looking to what it needs and provide it. Then profit will come to your doorstep without even knowing.

i have a province-based nail spa so far ok sya in terms of hindi sya as stressful compared sa ibang negosyo namin before like food/internet cafe/buy and sell wala ka inventory masyado,wastage,receivables coz i started with a system na nakalatag na sa kanila since day one. there's a system as to how spa procedures/treatments should be done so umalis man yong tao i just train the new ones kasi mahirap sa negosyo na ito pag wala kang alam mahirapan ka magpasunod kasi yong maling work habit nila from their previous workplace daladala nila..yong spa treatments madali naman ituro yan pero yong nail cleaning skill kasi kaya ako since maganda pasahod ko higher than the prevailing salary ng iba i require na matagal ng manicurista talaga mahirap na baka makasugat. tsaka isa sa challenge talaga yong skilled staffs na walang attitude problem at willing matuto. we're now based in QC altho yong business ko malayo sakin may security cam kami sa shop that's why i still get to monitor the shop remotely thru smartphone/pc i plan to move my nail spa here in QC wala pa lang ako nakikitang place. it'll be better siguro if i'll have a partner who's willing to help co-manage the spa na may lugar na as i already have the spa equipments/comfy recliner chairs/spa treatment materials/US polishes/operation manual/ monitoring system,etc.sa area kasi namin sa banawe sobrang taas na ng rent tsaka saturated na every corner me nailspa so as much as possible somewhere else na lang.

I'm so happy I found this thread! Share ko lang yung sakin, my sister and I are still at the planning stage, we're putting up a Mobile Massage business (home service). We want to concentrate on massage muna then later on expand to other spa services. Ito game plan namin: (some steps may be done in parallel with other steps para di sayang yung time)
1. attend a massage business orientation/training
2. draft up business plan -> dito na naka identify lahat ng details, like time of operations, number of therapists, services to be offered, day to day procedures, etc.
3. once we're okay with the business plan, then we prepare our funds based on our estimates from the business plan (whether own money or financed)
4. fix government requirements (dti, sec, clearances, etc)
5. prepare training materials (for staff)/marketing materials (for consumers)
6. purchase equipment/materials
7. hire people (for this, we're looking at the following: driver, admin staff/dispatcher, 1 sr therapist, 3 jr therapists)

so far, yun pa lang nakikita namin. what i'm confused about is whether all therapists should be licensed & certified?? parang ang mahal kasi kung ipapa aral ko pa sila lalo na major concern nga ang loyalty...

Mga sis, alam nyo ba kung saan makakabili dito sa Philippines ng supplies para sa soap making, body butter and lotion making stuff? Yung mga essential oils and different kinds of butter...san kaya makakabili? TIA!

Guys,

Tho Ive been a member since Jul, 2011 parang ngayon ko na lang ulit na open to. Im actualy planning to put up my own mini salon.probably, a 4 seater salon,excluding [textspeak!] mani and pedi. here are my Qs.

- ilang staff ang dapat kong ihire?
- magkano ang dapat na target ko everyday?
- anyone who has the same salon capacity? magkano ang kita every month?
- how much ang salon chair?shampoo chair etc. any idea?

Lakas loob lang to.ayoko na kasi talagang magwork at gusto ko na magkaron ng sariling business ko.ill be a very hands-on owner. please help me. TIA guys.appreciate your time! xx
