To all those working for Rarejob, okay pa rin ba kahit for new teachers? I mean may traffic pa rin ba pagdating sa students kahit mag-apply ako? Under 51talk ako kaso nagbago rule nila. May minimum slots na kailangan i-open bawat cut-off so it's not good for part-time workers. Sayang. Hands down pa naman ako sa 51talk

Any updates? I would like to know how she markets herself to non-english speakers and how to go about payments etc.

I haven't talked to him yet, but what I know is that he got the clients through referrals.  Since he's also teaching ESL face-to-face, his students referred him to those in Korea, then yun, online na yung teaching.

I think he produces his own teaching materials.  That's what I do rin naman po, all teaching materials, ako mismo gumagawa, should be tailored specifically for the needs of the students.

Ah,yes, pareho kaming Assistant Professors (Communication ako, and Psychology sya), so we get to design our own materials.  If you need help in the materials, may mga references online.  Are you currently teaching ESL, or still looking for students? May mga materials and photocopies pa ako ng mga lessons for ESL, and i have copies online. Just let me know if you need them, and kung ok sa yo gumamit ng online references.  May mga online sites na buo na yung lesson, no need to do anything else, ituturo na lang.  Nakita ko minsan yung lesson ng RareJob when I tried to apply.  Nasa demo stage na ako, supposedly magdedemo, kaso nung nalaman ko yung rate nga na nasa around PhP100-160 lang per hour, di ko na tinuloy yung demo. Sayang lang oras ko at pati kuryente and Internet sa baba ng bayad nila.

Hello mga sis, does anyone here can share about J-P Network? I actually talked to them through Skype. They're accommodating pero I would like to know some feedbacks here sana kasi hindi sya sikat na ESL online..

Also, my personal feedback with others:
1. Unhoop - professional employees nila, no delays with salary, hindi strict sa sked once naka more than 3 months ka na, although hirap dn ma raise salary.. 1 year na ako sknla and ok naman feedbacks ko.. dunno what happened, siguro konti lang kasi lessons na inoopen ko

2. 51talk- friendly naman sila pero nagresign ako after 3 months. Medyo nahirapan ako turuan mga chinese. mas madali turuan japanese in my opinion. hindi kasi ako teacher tlg by profession so if pang level 1 as in.. hirap nako hehe..

part time ko lang kasi ESL teaching.. un lang

Ma'am, aside from the site mentioned above where else can we get references for ESL teaching materials?  I'm a mom of 2 kids and planning to explore ESL tutoring as part time job. Tried applying for ESL jobs online but our internet connection seemed unreliable at the moment. Thus I'm considering face to face ESL teaching instead. Thanks in advance for all the help. God bless

I was interviewed by a japanese. He asked what kind of internet am i using and i said it's globe tattoo broadband 3 MBPS. I thought there's no problem with using a broadband but then he said that they do not accept boradband and that they want is DSL. I did not know what to say. Any ESL teachers here who entered the industry online and then later pursued man-to-man or classroom-based ESL/EFL teaching? Been an online instructor for most of my professional life (since 2010), I want to go that route na rin. Please share tips and advice

Hello, makikisali lang po ako sa usapan.  Nakakabigla naman ang rate dyan sa Bibo. As in P45 per 25 minutes?  So parang around P100 per hour at most.  And you need to teach 100 times n a 25 min just to get 4,500.  That rate is too low po.  Just to give you ideas, I taught ESL for 7+ years (though Face to Face) and the rate is at least P300.  Yung P100 na per-hour rate is for students, i.e. high school or college students who are willing to do conversational English with the foreign students.  The last time nagturo ako ng ESL, P500 per hour na.  So kung home-based, sagot nyo pa kuryente at bayad sa Internet.  P45 per 25 min is really an insult.  I've read this whole thread and just found out the rates in 51Talk, RareJob, Sankei, Hitutor.  Ang baba pala, kahit yung sa Bizmates na mukhang pinakamalaki ang offer.  I would suggest that you network na lang po and deal directly with Korean, Chinese and Japanese students.  Yung wala nang company in between, para mataas makuha nyong rate, and no need for tax.  I have a friend who does that.  Direct client lahat, so you can dictate your rate.  Will get back to this thread po kapag nakausap ko sya and I will also find other resources to help those who prefer home-based jobs.  By the way, home-based din po job ko, almost 5 years na ako, full time.  Thanks po.
