^^actually there are certain bikini brands na hindi namimisplace. a very good example of this is pualani bikini. i have 1 and hindi talaga cya namimisplace i usually wear this with board shorts. kahit walang rash guard okay lang.

anyway, there's this one brand din for surfing. Superkini by O'Neil Philippines. look for them in FB. may nagtest ng bikini sa Baler at bandeau ang gamit. o ha! hahaha

I've been to San Juan La Union 2 weeks ago, tried surfing and nagenjoy ako ng sobra! nakakapagod nga lang at sakit sa katawan after =) sana matry ko ulet sang place pa ba magaganda ang waves?

^ If you dont mind the protracted road trip, try Baler sis. Weekend ka ba nag-surf and crowded na? Balita ko kasi hindi gaano ok sa La Union sa nag-aaral mag0surf. Sa dami daw kasi plus the instructors pa halos nagkaka-bungguan na.

^ ahh nung pumunta kami halos walang tao. Solong solo naman namin sis. Kaya lang parang di ok mga instructors hehe, mga lalaking parang tambay lang. Nakakatakot pero syempre i have to trust them. Mabait naman. 400 yung bayad, mura na ba yun?

^^ hahaha. mukhang tambay talaga ang itsura ng mga surfers natin dito kasi mga locals sila. were you expecting some hottie like Luke Landrigan? meron naman pero the good surfers are really locals kasi sila ang nakakapagpractice everyday. you go to Baler, you get the same type of people. they are the pro. the ones na makikinis surfers are the lifestyle surfers. mababait naman ang mga instructors tsaka cool.

Mga sisses, how much kaya ang budget kung backpacking lang talaga to either La Union or Baler?
Parang gusto ko kasi yung biglaang weekend getaway.. Perfect if right after payday.. haha!
Anong bus ang marerecommend nyo pag nagcommute and saan po yung cheap na accommodation with surfing lessons na?

^Sa Baler you can ride Genesis bus (regular with a/c around P400; deluxe [Joy bus] P650) diretso na yun. pwede din bus to Cabanatuan then may van/mini bus from there papuntang Baler. mas tipid pero mas hassle. When you're in Baler, sa sabang beach (or baywatch) tabi-tabi na mga resort and surfing lessons. mura lang dun. siguro range ng accommodation from P400-P2k+ lang. pero don't ever go to Baler na overnight lang, byahe pa lang yun. pagod lang aabutin mo dun.

we just went to LU last weekend... hindi ako nakapag surf pero si BF nakapag surf... natakot ako sa waves =/ mejo malakas ang hampas ng waves.. kahit si BF mejo nahilo ng mahampas ng waves..
pero atleast siya naka surf at gusto niya talaga...
nakita namin si luke nag tuturo sa mga students...
pero mas ok talaga ang waves sa bagasbas, bicol! at oks din ang mga instructor..
ang nangyari sa mga instructor sa LU parang taga tulak lang talaga hehe

no i'm not.

if you want real lessons in surfing, there's one in club manila east. it's sort of a surf retreat din with yoga exercise. 2,500 per session pero if you want to get the whole package, 12k siya. pero formal lessons siya ng surfing like how to ride the waves, catch one and know how to spot one. for me ha, kinda pricey siya. you can get all these lessons in either LU or Baler sans the yoga.

the instructors kasi, they teach you the basic then tulak lang sila ng tulak. mostly, visitors come because they want to experience the ride. so the instructors don't do much talking pero they will let you experience that riding. they would know if you are really interested in surfing and serious about it when you just don't  go back twice or thrice.  if you go back more than that, then definitely, you'll get a real lesson. my friend who was pretty much into surfing, every weekends nasa LU siya (ako every other weekends lang). partida, nurse on duty pa yun. on her third week, dinala na siya sa point, where the pros practice. dun siya tinuruan how to spot the waves, when to paddle and when to ride it. on her 5th week, she bought a board.

ako naman since d naman ako laging nandun, i made friends na rin with the pros because of my friend nga. tinuruan na rin ako when to spot a "bukol" from afar. when to start paddling and when to ride. i have a coach there, in fact. yung coach ko na yun makulit. everytime magbreak ako, ituturo niya sa akin ang mga techniques tapos pagbalik sa dagat, actual lessons kaagad. umabot na nga ako sa lesson kung paano magsurf pero nakatalikod. wala lang, for the fun of it.

when i went to Baler for the first time, i had an instructor kasi nakakatakot yung waves and d ko kabisado yung beach. he asked me if it's my first time, i said no. then the first 4 rides, na bore na siya. sabi niya, maam turuan na lang kita ng tricks. so ayun, natuto ako mag switching tapos a bit of hang 10.
