^sis, mas malayo baler 8 hrs sya from manila minsan mas mahaba pang travel time. la union 6 hours pero kaya ng 5 hours kung gabi ka aalis. sa baler kung commute kayo, ang last trip ng bus papunta baler 6am, la union naman hourly kasi you can just take any bus going to ilocos and baba kayo sa la union.

^sis, try mo sebay, san juan surf resort, hacienda peter, surfers inn, lola nanny's. yung iba dyan may website check mo na lang.

i frequent la union and i tried both sebay and san juan surf resort. halos same lang naman rates nila. okay naman both. basic amenities lang like aircon, tv and private cr. the last time i stayed at san juan surf resort may ref [textspeak!] room namin. mas accomodating lang ang staff sa sebay kesa sa surf resort. sa food naman medyo mahal pareho at Php150-180 per meal without drinks pa yun.

if you're going there, i can give you the number of my surf instructor just in case. just let me know

hello.. yung mga surf classes sa la union, soft board din ba gamit nila for newbies? TIA

sis it doesn't take that long na go to baler. specially if you take JOYBUS.  During the end-october holidays, our bus left cubao just before 1AM, we arrived baler around 5AM! yun nga lang talagang mabilis magpatakbo si manong!hahahha! 

Hindi na tumitigil ng cabanatuan ang joybus so its much faster. direcho na ito ng baler/ma.aurora.  You can also buy your tickets in advance para hassle free. wala lang natuwa lang ako sa joybus talaga.hehhee!

I will be "trying" to surf this weekend. Super first time.
Question mga sis. Ano dapat na suot for first time surfers? I plan to buy a rash guard as my top. Ok lang ba na boyleg swimsuit yung sa baba?  Or dapat naka-board shorts pa over the swimsuit?

hi sis, okay na rin boyleg swimsuit kung comfy ka dun bsta tight fitting sya. pero to be safe mag board shorts ka na lang siguro. malakas kasi ang hampas ng waves minsan di mo akalain bigla bumaba o iiba yung position ng swimsuit mo. natanggalan ako ng swimsuit top dati buti naka rashguard ako kaya ayoko na suot ng string top pag surf. hehe enjoy!

^^ Alam mo sis nagtataka nga ako sa nagsu-surf na naka-2 piece swimsuit lalo na sa mga beginners na madalas mahulog sa board. Lalo pa yung string swimsuit. Ako kase lagi naka-rashguard, nawawala nga sa pwesto yung panloob ko as in umaakyat sya sa boobs ko buti na lang may rashguard.

wag ma-offend yung mga nag2-2 piece, curious lang talaga ako...may technique ba yung mga naka-2 piece para hinde mabosohan?

pro surfers can surf with just wearing 2 piece. their secret? super tight ang pagkatali ng mga strings to the extent na parang lagi ka na lang nakayuko sa sobrang tight ng pagkatali. i tried that once, it's really effective but masakit lang talaga sa balat yung super higpit na.

I agree. unless you don't wipe out a lot, I don't suggest surfing in a bikini. hehe

I used to frequent Baler but not lately due to work (sobrang OT  ) What I wish doing hopefully this year or next is to go to all the surf spots dito sa Pinas! Yung tipong I just pack a few essentials and a tent then hit the road! (Oh, so much fun just thinking about it! hehe) Mas masaya sana if you're like a group, tipong girls' weekend outing.. Kaso, with my group of friends ako lang ata ang very enthusiastic about this, karamihan kasi takot sa tubig LOL! If anyone here, mga sis, ang feel din na gawin to, maybe we can set up plans...
