Can anyine give me feedback about Teacher Kristelle from Speech Ladder, or Teacher Ting or Teacher Ged from RehabPartners? These are the only ones available so far.

I just want to say that I am so pleased with my son's development lately. Big improvement on behavior and skills. Even the teacher noticed it. I don't know if it has anything to do with the Therapeutic Listening we are doing (we are on week 3), or if the OT sessions are working. Or maybe its the synergy the treatments working together.

Had 1st session of speech today. Informal assessment pa lang, formal assessment next week. So happy that my son is at par with all that is expected for his age. Vocabulary is good. Its just grammar than needs to be improved.

These are the days, when I see improvements in his behavior and skills that make every cent I spent on OT and SP worth it talaga!

and last question who do i choose to be my sons dev ped...my pedia recommended Dr. Vilma Bagay of st. lukes (she's the head pala), i heard good reviews naman kay Dr. Dimalanta and Dr. tanchanco

kinda paranoid lang with my son kasi at 25months hindi pa din nagsasalita. he can count but when we call his name he doesn't acknowledge.

If your pedia recommended Dr. Bagay, your first choice should be her because your regular pedia might be more comfortable with her, although Drs. Tanchanco and Dimalanta are excellent doctors as well.

I finally have a sked for my son's speech thera at Embrace in Taft. their facilities are okay, neat ang area, tas ang daming toys. its a good thing nka singgit kami meron atang nag back out.

The first center we checked out was skill builders, unfortunately they dont have any SP ot STs at the moment.

speech evaluation ng anak ko kanina sa embrace. his therapist recommended having him evaluated by an OT too since ayaw nyang magparticipate. though, he sometimes answers the therapist's questions, there are times na ayaw talaga nya. at gusto na talaga ng umuwi. nakaka depressed talaga. super short ng attention span ng anak ko. frustrating na ewan. hay.

^ Avoid muna tv watching for your son.  I read somewhere it contributes to extreme short attention span of children.

twnks: Sis, how old is your child if I may ask?

normally kasi what the devped suggests for younger kids is OT before speech therapy, bec only after the child's sitting skills and attention span improves may they go into SP. Usually OT first for a few months before Speech.

My son, still has a short attention span and is still figgets a lot, but kahit papaano now after OT, he can sit through his 1 hr of speech na, although needs to be prompted sometimes to maintain focus.

^my son is 4.. and short talaga attention span nya. ayaw umupo or makinig pag nabobored na sya. when the therapist told him na its time to go, aba biglang na alive at ginawa talaga nya yung goodbye action song ng maayos para lang makalabas na sya sa room

^ same here. My son is turning 4. Although his behavior improved with OT feeling ko kulang pa din. Although OT did help improve his behavior and he is now more confident and more sociable.

We only started speech therapy after 4 months of OT.

eversince i give birth, mas nadagdagan behavioral problem namin with my eldest. aside from the short attention span, bumagal pati yung improvement nya sa speech. parang ganun pa din. siguro kasi hindi ko rin fully nabibigyan ng panahon kasi sa newborn baby namin.

sis, I have 2 different therapists for OT of of difficulties in getting a therapist that had a 2x/week open slot available that would match our sched. Buti nalang, we are OK with both therapists. I think sis, pa-iba iba ang progresss rate of therapy. There was a time very steady  ang improvement ng son ko. Then I was surprised when he started class in his new school. bigla nalang we were having bahaviour problems nanaman bec I guess he was adjusting.

But I know how you feel sis. Sometimes you as a parent will get impatient when u feel the effect of therapies has plateaued already. In my case, I stopped my therapeutic listening program, after my cd player broke down kasi feeling ko not much improvement naman na now... although it did help a bit in the first weeks. Unfair lang to judge bec we only did it for a month. Ill continue after I find a new discman siguro

who knows Skill Builders at Leon Guinto, Manila (near PWU)? how do you find the facilities and the OT?

is it ok to have 2 OTs from different centers?

which therepy center would u recommend that has high standard OT and facility? located in paranaque, makati, manila (along taft).

^ Might be better if you only one OT in one center. But due to sched constraints sometimes you have 2 OTs in one center such as my son. Then the 2 OTs just coordinate with each other. Some parents here though have tried having 2 OTs at different centers. However, my dev ped discouraged me bec he wants the OTs to be able to coordinate and work under the same program. I do have different centers for Speech and OT though.
