Starting Life/Work in US - Tips and Stories

Question po in connection to those working temporarily in US... Can I use my Philippine Driver's License (Student Permit) in US or do I have to get a non-Pro license na lang? Kasi i-issue'han ako ng temporary car during my 3-weeks stay there while I'm on training.

If student license lang, baka hindi ka payagan. Kasi if they would be issuing you a rental car for 3 weeks, i-aask ka for a driver's license, yung card mismo. Better get a non-pro.

Then I called the state's Public Safety (thanks to google!) where I'll be going and as per the lady I've spoken to, OK lang pala 'yung driver's license issued here and it's valid for 6 months. Another sigh of relief for me, 'coz I thought I needed to get an international driver's license which is hindi na pala kelangan kung saglit lang ako dun.

It's a good thing na tumawag ka Kasi it depends on the state you're going to. Yung iba kelangan ng international driver's license, like Missouri. Iba naman, as long as may license card ka, pwede na. Iba-iba din ang validity. Dito kasi sa IL, hindi naman kelangan ng international drivers license, pero yung normal card is only valid 90 days.

sis, check mo expedia and orbitz, usually meron silang korean air and asiana.  then compare it to prices at delta and your local travel agents.  paiba-iba kasi kung ano ang may promo, shop around na lang to find out the cheapest.

^^ and ^- super stressful naman. ay pero gusto ko salapi eh. nyaha. sana makahanap part time job soon.

Super stressful nga sis. To top it off kinukulit talaga ako ng hubby ko to quit one job. Nung na preggy ako lalo siyang kumulit na mag quit ako sa job ko. Now SHAM ako palagi na nya akong makikita. LOL Nasawa na ako palaging nakikita pagmumukha nya. LOL (Joke, love my honey He he ) I'm tired of being a bum though, I wanna go back to work but iba naman pinoproblema ko kaya hindi ako nakakabalik sa work ko. Dalawang beses na akong tinawag magbalik na ako, pero di ko pa magawa ngayon.

Hubby ko kasi nag u-use sa car ko now, kasi he sold his car. So kailangan nasa within our neighborhood lang ako magtrabaho so very limited. Ayaw naman namin mag loan ng car...hayyyss, very tight yung money ngayon...

Sana manalo tayo sa LOTTO! Ha ha ha

School opening soon....would appreciate any tips since it's my daughters first time to go to (middle) school here in the states.  Her schools website has been helpful to some extent.

^ I believe there's a proposal kasi that would prevent babies of illegal immigrants from being automatic citizens. What I'm not sure of is if that has already been approved. Baka yan yung sinasabi ng kakilala mo.

^ sis, ganun pa rin- automatic US citizen if born sa US.  they want to change it but they have to pass a new law, and wala pa naman as of now.
