i bought the generic counterpart for my mother's maintainance for high blood and she said same lang ang effect nila with the branded one...so we opted for the generic since half price lang ng usual naming nagagastos...it has been a great help for my mom too...

dito rin kami bili ng meds ng father and mother ko..for diabetes and cholesterol..pati yung mga simpleng mefenamic acid and paracetamol dito rin kami bili..half the price kasi kaya sayang naman yung matitipid eh..sana lang pareho ng effect..

mura nga talaga dito..

bawal kasi magprescribe ang doctors na brand name gamit, kaya generic dapat nakalagay sa prescriptions kaso yung iba dahil sponsored ng med companies, nilalagay pa din nila yung brand name.. kaya siguro di na lang siya nagcomment..

we are planning to put up a generics pharmacy here at la union..the generics pharmacy!

for what i know sa generics e same effect din [textspeak!] sa branded..ms mahal un branded kc nga branded db..
Generic medicine are finished pharmaceutical product having the same active ingredients, same dosage form and same strength as the branded medicine.

Generic Name or Generic Terminology is the identification of drugs and medicine by their scientifically and internationally recognized active ingredients or by their official generic name as determined by the Bureau of Food and Drugs of the Department of Health

^oo naman.. di naman pwede na brand name lang nakalagay sa prescription, bawal yun.. dapat kasi may choice ang patient kung di niya kaya bumili ng mahal..

tapos yung ibang doctors yung mga sample na meds nirerepackage nila tapos binebenta sa patients...mga selfish!hehe

nagbibigay naman talaga mga doctors ng free medicine pati nga cream paminsan nagbibigay din pero hindi naman nila puwede bigyan lahat ng patiente.
they need to earn a living too.
may nabili din ako sa generics pharmacy, mefanemic acid, counterpart niya is ponstan.
tingin ko mas delayed ng konti ang effect pero gumana din naman.

Try ko rin bumili ng multivitamins dito. One kind lang ba yun? Or many kinds din?

medyo kinda OT ata, pero advice lang, let us not only consider the price when it comes to buying medicine, consider din natin if bagay ba sa present condition ng body natin. For example, if may ulcer ka or asthma, yun gamot na bibilhin mo pwede ba sa mga may taong may ulcer and asthma. Like before, I saw the TV ad of Allerta, which is cheaper than Claritin (my dad always buy Claritin kasi). Tapos he considered trying Allerta, buti na lang nakita ko yun fine print(which stated that hindi pwede sa mga may asthma). Sabi ko huwag kasi may asthma siya. Tapos dati sa case ko, may pinapakain na gamot (which is branded, mga P70 ata each!) sa akin kasi may cough problem ako, then na-research ko, hindi pwede sa mga may ulcer. E may ulcer ako. Kaya yun. Ingat ingat din tayo sa pagbibili.

tama ka jan sis..better read first un mga indications at contraindications nun gamot..my certain content kc ang gamot na pwedeng makasama sa isang sakit..

hi napadaan lang po, im a doctor po practicing as a gp. my husband naman is training for fam med. And until now naman never naman kami nagrepackage ng gamot =) kung sino man doctor na kilalang mong yun sis brigz, matindi na siguro ang pangagailangan

Ako when i prescribe lalo na sa mga public hospital, never ko nilalagyan ng brand name. Same effect lang sa may brand at generic ang mga gamot.

yes sis meron sila ... pag minsan sa generics pharmacy nagbibigay din sila ng leaflets kung ano mga equivalent drugs na mura ,ng mahal na mga brand,
pero i still suggest na punta ka pa din sa dr to consult.

example:
--- generic name:captopril tab ( gamot sa altapresyon ) 5.50 lang pag generic
brand name: capoten mejo mas mahal

^uu sis,meron silang listahan ng mga gamot na may equivalent sa mga branded na gamot.

yung vitamin C na pambata, hindi hiyang ng baby ko, kaya balik ceelin ako.

kasi ako i usually buy doxy pag nagkaka pimples ako..

imagine sa mercury, arnd 40/capsule..

tapos sa generics pharmacy, 2/cap lang....imagine mo yun....

jusko..kaya sinasadya ko talga ang GP.

suki din ako ng the generics pharmacy, ever since nagbukas sila dito sa lugar namin.
i usually buy yung gamot ng inlaws ko sa heart at diabetes. sa kids ko, paracetamol, salbutamol, vitamins.
actually branded naman sila, di nga lang kilala mga brand, most of them are locally manufactured.

ayoko sa botika ng bayan, yun ang generic talaga, my gosh di umepekto yung paracetamol na binili ko para s anak ko!!!
