What's the difference between judge and solemnizing officer?

As per how I understand it, in terms of officiating, a judge can only perform the civil union inside his office by virtue of his state and not within any religion. A solemnising officer performs a civil union in the name of a particular religion with the authority that the state has bestowed on him/her. Since the SO is doing performing the union in the name of the religion and not by virtue of his office, he/she can perform it in other venues.

If the SO is the one officiating your marriage, one or both of you should belong to the same religion as the SO. This is not so for a marriage officiated by a judge.

^Baka may special arrangement sila or kakilala nila yung judge. As far as I know, judges and mayors must officiate in their office. Ask ka na rin sis, kung may kakilala ka.

From what my husband's classmate told us, judge can officiate outside their office for as long as they have parang jurisdiction.  We were suppose to get a judge but had conflicts with the schedule.  Since our wedding is a weekend (long holiday) at meron na rin syang family event to go to.

Samin naman judge from City Hall, pupunta na lang sya sa venue namin to conduct the wedding =) additional charge na lang, dun sa original rate niya..

Sis, ni refer lang siya nung friend ko, siya din kasi yung nagkasal sa kanila. Valid naman lahat ng files nila, naka register sa civil registry at NSO na din yun marriage certificate nila.

Hi sis jaimeko, I'm not sure kung judge siya or rev lang, basta sure is he's authorized to solemnized wedding. I don't know how to send pictures here, send ko sana yung calling card niya.

Copy of birth certificate lang yung binigay namin sa kaniya, 3,500 all in rates niya kapag sa City Hall kayo ikakasal, additional 1,500 kapag may sarili kayong venue. Sila na magpaprocess ng other requirements sis.
