oohhh ganon pala yun?  :-\
kasi i read one blog of fellow GTalker na kinasal ni Sir Aris Centeno, she and her hubby are both catholics pero hindi naman pinalitan yung religion nila.
So I was thinking ganon din yung ibang SO... or tipong no bearing ang religion pag SO ang nagkasal...
^no sis. one of you e papalitan ni SO ng religion sa MC para maging "christian" instead of "catholic". that way, valid yun kasal nyo.

Yes, I read that too na kapag parehong couple ay hindi naka-indicate religion ng SO, hindi valid ang marriage.

^ hi sis, what do you mean? pag walang religion ang SO invalid ang kasal?
So dapat belong talaga sa isang sect si SO at one of us ay kasama sa sect na yun? tama ba ko???

For example, if the SO is Christian, bride or groom should indicate Christian sa license and certificate.

question, I'm planning to have our civil wedding this year, we are living in for more than 5 years, and i've read that no need na to get marriage license, only affidavit of cohabitation.  Pano pag process ng ganun, can you help me?  thanks in advance :)

my SIL and her fiancee are about to get married in Catholic ceremony kaso lang in the end they found out the guy is already member of Dating Daan. so to make the story short, nag away sila kasi ayaw ng pakasal ng lalaki sa simbahan. ayaw naman pumayag ni SIL magpa court.

Yung lalaki umuwi ng probinsya para magmuni muni. after a month eh hindi na bumabalik ng Manila. ang Church wedding nila ay dapat sa May 28 na,, so etong si SIL nagfreak out na. siyempre kahiyaan na eto at matapos nila mag announce ng engagement kung kelan malapit na saka di matutuloy.

so ang ending pinuntahan ni SIL si bf sa probinsya and convince him na bumalik na ng Manila. pumapayag na si SIL ikasal kahit hindi na sa Catholic basta wag lang sa court at sa Dating Daan. ang napagkasunduan nila ay gawing garden wedding at protestant pastor ang magkakasal. kahit both of them ay hindi member ng protestant church.

ang tanong ko lang is,, pede ba talaga eto? anybody here who have this experience and share if this is legitimate.

kasi parang ginawa eto nuon ni James Yap at Kris Aquino who are both Catholics at ang ending due to technicalities, napawalan ng bisa ang  kasal.

naisip ko lang kasi if one of you will change the religion in MC for the sake lang na maikasal kayo, hindi ba niloloko niyo na ang legalities ng marriage niyo from the start?

sorry for the long post. i cant believe my SIL will go as far as doing this. though i have other issues with her, i really hope she is making the right decision.

For me, ang babaw ng reason nya para mag walk out ha.

2. kahit san kayo magpakasal as long as maikasal kayo. After all, it's only paper naman e.

^ thanks for the comment sis.

I think the Catholic Church will allow mixed marriages however the religion should be something na hindi opposite pole ng paniniwala namin. Eto ang sabi ng pari na nagseminar samin nuon before our Catholic wedding. lets say ang Muslim and Catholic will not be allow to be wed in our church for the reason na totally contradicting ang paniniwala niya. same as INC and Catholic din. pero kung mga Born Again Christians and Protestants, I think,, allowed sila to marry in our Church if there partners are members of it. Same as what happened to Jolina and Mark.

I think Dating Daan is not considered Christian. what I know the leader used to be a member of INC, and INC is not Christian also. kumbaga my in laws don't believe that Dating Daan leaders are considered Pastors.though I personally think legal naman ang kasal sa simbahan nila. Si MIL ay officer pa sa organization ng Catholic Church namin so you could imagine yung frustration niya sa mamanugahin niya.  ;D

I had personal experience with my Aunt before na long time ago kinasal siya sa Catholic Church only to find out kasal pala yung uncle ko dati sa ibang girl sa civil rites. during that time, I think CENOMAR was not required pa in the Church. nalaman nalang namin when they were planning for migration kasi na-deny yung lalaki nuon sa family application. all of us were shocked then. my aunt had a nervous breakdown.

that's why nakwento ko sa husband ko na if the wedding is not going to be valid due to technicalities, why do it? why spend money?

anyways, spoiled brat and maldita kasi yang SIL ko. she even command us to move our own wedding this year just to accommodate theirs.. (its a different story on a different post). that's why we are not close. however natuloy parin ang kasal ko sa brother niya, family member na nila tee hee!. so si MIl panay kwento sakin.

honestly, dito ko lang nailalabas ang mga curiosity ko kasi pag kausap ko inlaws ko, I don't make any comments. asar ako sa SIL to be honest and it will be beneficial in my ego if I see her fail.  however I realized you don't wish it to a family member.

yung fiancé niya, andun sa bahay nila. hindi na pinakawalan kasi nga di nagpakita ng matagal knowing kung kelan malapit na yung kasal.  kailangan pugpugin pa para kumilos. ang mantra namin ni hubby ko nuon plano namin magpakasal,, 'if we feel any doubt na magpapakasal tayo kahit 1% lang siya, please let's not do it.' feeling ko kasi baka pagsisihan lang namin sa huli.

well ako lang naman yun.  :D good luck kay SIL at sana nga hindi sila ma-technical. wish her the best.

Hi :) I have a few questions re: civil wedding ceremony. I was advised by the wedding coord nung venue of choice namin na hindi daw usually allowed ang Catholic ceremony sa beachfront (although we can still try talking to the local parish, or maybe inviting a priest na kakilala namin). We are both Catholics pero we're not traditional naman, and because we want a wedding ceremony at the beachfront, we are now considering just a civil ceremony. The resort has a nice little chapel where they hold Catholic weddings but I'm not really feeling it. The planner advised us na we get married muna by a judge sa court months before so that yung Catholic ceremony come our wedding date will sort of be like renewal of vows na. That way, a local priest can officiate the renewal of vows outside the church/chapel. It's a good idea sana pero thinking about it parang hindi ko bet yung 2 weddings, and for personal reasons, I'd be more giddy and excited if isang beses lang kame ikakasal, with our dream ceremony. Kaya ngayon, we're considering a civil ceremony na lang para sa beachfront kame (ang arte kase namin haha). Well as my partner said, it's the same naman and we'll still end up being married with MC and wedding rings and all.

So right now I'm researching (and asking my dad's friends haha) kung pano mag-push through with a civil ceremony. We will still be doing all the works like a normal wedding, yung ceremony lang talaga ang concern namin ngayon.

If anyone of you can answer my queries, I'd be more than thankful:
  • May max number of primary sponsors ba pag civil wedding? Most kase ng nakikita ko, 1 pair lang of witness, then parents of both parties. Usually yan lang ang kasama.
  • Can I still have my entourage? With this part, I'm thinking of just going with my Matron of Honor, bridesmaids/groomsmen, and the kids -- flower girls and ring bearer (syempre wala ng bible and coin bearers). Di ko na din bet mag secondary sponsors for candle, veil or cord since bridesmaids ko lang din naman ang gagawa nito if we go for a Catholic ceremony. So less task na for them. I just want them to be there during the ceremony.

So far yan ang mga major questions namin.

oo nga sis eh, actually si sis lakwatsa nagdiscuss ng details saken re Christian ceremony pag Catholic couple. hehe medyo naliwanagan ako ng very light and dinidiscuss na din namin ni h2b. he's leaning towards civil ceremony though, kase di nya masyado pa magets yung pag kumuha kami ng non-Catholic na SO.

sis di pa namin nakausap pastor, nagsearch lang din ako and ask ask kay sis lakwatsa hehe. as far as i know the veil cord and candle are optional. pero sa mga nasearch ko most couples wala na silang ganyang tradition pag christian ceremony since wala naman meaning sa kanila yan.. Catholic tradition kase talaga yan diba. anyway eto sis yung blog na binasa ko re flow of ceremony:

^Thanks for the post sis.

Reception namin sa hotel, pareserve lang table for us :D

Kasi papainom na lang daw kami sa friends after ng kasal namin, renewal of vows naman after 10 years sa church sa boracay :)

Magkano ba binabayad sa Judge or yung honorarium?
