hi mga sis, we got married in civil rites last Saturday, 01-08-11.. si Rev. Rayda Tumaliuan ang nag solemnized ng wedding namin.. Reverend/Solemnizing officer ang napili namin kasi we want the specific date to be our anniv e pag judge/mayor e business day dapat..

if you can remember sya yung nagkasal ke kris at james but she is super nice pa rin kahit medyo naging controversial sya last year.. birthday nya last Sat pero in-accomodate pa rin nya kami..

very simple lang wedding namin, witnessed by 7 of our friends, nakaraos naman..

eto yung mga nagastos namin:
Marriage License - P 355
Ring (Silverworks) - P 475
Dress ko (Landmark) - P 220
Long Sleeve ni Hubby (Landmark) - P 450
Reverend - P 3000.00
Token sa Reverend (cake from red ribbon)- P340
Token sa mga Witness (cupcakes from brownies unlimited) - P 200.00
Reception (Eat all you can sa Tramway) - P 2100

P 7140.00 lang nagastos namin but still its memorable.. church wedding will be on May this year.. =)

thanks for sharing sis. san kayo kinasal? sa office niya? I am alos planning a cheap christian wedding din by june eh. I am also thinking of buying na lang a white dress.

we had our civil wedding last august. the ceremony and reception was held in a restaurant located in pasig. we had around 30 guests; immediate family members and very close friends only. i bought my white dress sa cinderella (sale pa!). tapos pinalagyan ko ng beads. hubby bought his barong sa divi. we made simple invitation. sabi din namin na semi-formal attire ng guests. btw, meron din pala akong bouquet. kahit na ilang steps lang lalakarin ko from door to the area kung san yun ceremony, naglakad pa din ako :)
meron din kaming emcee (2 friends). nagprepare din kami ng ppt presentation. we also had the traditional cake, wine and dove. kumanta din yung isang friend namin ng one of our favorite love song. tapos si hubby kumanta din - grow old with you.
sobrang happy kami, kasi hindi namin naramdaman yung stress at hassle sa pag prepare ng wedding. at tipid pa!
yun palang nagkasal sa amin is a Reverend kaya ang ceremony na binigay niya ay similar sa church.

Hi, sis.  Belated congratulations and best wishes to you and your husband.

Just want everyone here to know that  a wedding  is not a civil one  just because it is not held within the confines of  a church.   A civil wedding is one where the solemnizing officer is  a mayor or  member of the judiciary.  A wedding  not inside a church  and officiated by a pastor or  sect leader  is not obviously a church wedding. The proper way to call it is that it is a religious wedding rite.

Just sharing what I know. :)

oh my!  sorry sisses reb_woods072683, sweetsorrow, angelbyday, twinkle belle.. ngayon lang ako naka visit sa thread.. hindi ko nasagot agad mga tanong nyo..

si hubby ang nag search kay rev. rayda.. hinanap nya sa FB tapos minessage nya.. nagreply naman si Rev and then ayun na confirmed na available siya on our date then provided us her mobile numbers.. kindly check her in FB those who want to avail her service..

sis ellababy, yung smen catholic/christian yung nasa religion pero catholic kami.. gusto kasi i-avoid ni Rev yung naging issue kina Kris na sinasabing void yung kasal kasi hnd sila under sa same sect ni Rev kaya nya yun sinuggest.. we had our Church wedding last May and wala namang naging problema.. saka hindi naman cause sa nullify ng marriage yung religion.. but correct me if Im wrong..

sis findinddbest, yung witness ko e mga friends ko lang din.. =)

hello! its been a while since i visited this site..
mga sis.. possible ba yun na magkaroon ng dalawang civil wedding? like for example first civil wedding is mabilisan lang talaga no preparation at all basta makasal lang because we need to get a marriage certificate soon then the 2nd civil wedding eh after a year but this one will be a big one with all the preparations and everything maybe a garden wedding complete with entourage so we could invite friends, families and relatives. Another thing is.. is it true that if youre going to marry someone who is divorced from the previous marriage eh you cannot have a church wedding because it is not allowed? The original plan was to have a civil wedding ng mabilisan then a big church wedding the following year but then they said hindi pwede sa church kapag divorced yun papakasalan mo kaya i want to know if pwede yun dalawang civil wedding.
TIA mga sisses..

^This is exactly what we are thinking about sis. Kasi bf is not a Catholic, and I don't want to get married inside a church. Ang gusto namin talaga is sunrise wedding sa isang beach, tapos whole day reggae party for friends. Yung sunrise wedding very intimate lang and konti lang ang invited, tapos yung reggae party, doon na dadating lahat ng friends.

But then, I'm pregnant (yehey) and my parents want me to get married before the baby comes. So we're thinking a quick wedding na civil rites lang, tapos repeat performance nalang next year.

I work in court so I know a lot of judges and justices, but I don't want to involve my work life with my personal life so if we decide to get a judge, he/she has to be someone I don't know LOL and maybe get married in another town so I have an excuse not to invite my boss LOL

I honestly wasn't preparing for anything like a party, but after having read this thread, looks like we can afford a small but fun one pala :)

And for the sister who is asking how much is it to get a CENOMAR online,
it's 430 pesos

Birth certificate naman is 300+ pesos

Cheaper if you go line up with NSO, 195pesos lang yata

sis gorgeous_brat18 - is it true that if youre going to marry someone who is divorced from the previous marriage eh you cannot have a church wedding because it is not allowed? - yes, dapat talaga annulled yung first marriage

with regards sa civil wedding mo, i think pwede naman, pagdating kasi sa NSO ang valid date talaga ng wedding niyo is yung unang civil wedding niyo, kasi yun ang unang mareregister sa kanila.

^His sis,

Can i answer from a legal point of view?
If your spouse is not a Filipino citizen at the time of his divorce, you can still get married. You just have to present the Divorce Decision (of the court that issued it) to his embassy to get a certificate/affidavit of capacity to get married.

If your fiancee was a filipino citizen then changed nationalities to secure a divorce, you just need to present the divorce decision in a court here so that his former marriage will be declared void and then he can marry again.

If your spouse however, is filipino (at the time of the divorce), even if he got married and divorced outside the philippines, philippine law will apply. therefore, he cannot marry here because in the eyes of our law, he is still married. take note, simbahan or civil rites, hindi pwede. if may magkasal man, this will give rise to a possible case for bigamy. Kaya ayun, kailangan muna magpa-annul o kaya ipadeclare na null and void yung marriage from the very beginning.

I hope that helps!

thanks sa reply sis :) kapag divorced ba ang tao pwede rin niya pa-annulled yun marriage niya? If we get married again next year we will do it on the same date na lang para we only have one anniversary date.

Hi sis! Thanks for this information! :)

He is a foreign national and he's been divorced for several years already and he has the papers stating that previous marriage (which lasted only 3 months) was already dissolved. I have wanted to have a church wedding but they told me that church wedding is not possible with a divorced man instead a civil wedding will be the appropriate one that's why I was wondering if it is possible to have two civil weddings since ang first one is wala talaga preparation kaya I wanted to have another civil wedding next year same date since church wedding is not possible daw so I could invite friends, families and relatives.

^Sis you are welcome :) At wag kang mag-alala, ganyan din ang gagawin ko LOL
ayaw ko magpakasal sa church, kasi bukod sa ang hirap hirap, dami-daming requirements at gastos, may issues ako with the church.

kaya twice akong magpapa civil. LOL isang walang preparations, at isang bonggang party next year. pwede naman yun sis. kaya lang, in all your documents, your real date of marriage would be the first wedding date :)

both catholic kami ng hubby ko but reverend ang nagkasal sa amin. we had two options na pwede magkasal, a judge and a rev kaso sa judge ayaw pumayag ng may ceremony pa ,entourage etc.. so we asked the judge if hnd ba magkakaproblema if rev ang magkasal sa amin and she said it's fine for as long as both parties agreed na rev ang magkakasal..so kampante naman na kami since judge na ang nagsabi na walang magiging problema.  ;)

Is it also possible for a reverend to officiate the seremony even if my fiance is divorced?

We're planning a civil wedding this coming December 27 or 28. Just me and my fiance and with our parents and a couple of witnesses.  And will just hit the hotel after. I will only have three weeks vacay--kakayanin ba yun? I am thinking since it's December, it'll be busy.

It's not very unique hehe.

(Church wedding will be this May2012.)

Yes! Unexpectedly :) I will have an early vacation sa wakas.  So how was the process? What are the things we need to prepare etc etc? Suddenly I do not know where to start.

We'll be planning our church wedding as well.

Might as well PM you :)
