This week, we had a couple of games that came out for the DS but two (2) of those have been recently acquired by me.
- Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits
Oh yeah!
THE reason why I still keep my DS Lite. And... it's the
ONLY reason I ever need.

The 3rd iteration of the popular portable gaming simulation has this time released a playlist that has been on the radio charts for more than 5 months. The only downside is that it's the US radio, so I'm totally unfamiliar with some of the lineup. The one i got came bundled with a Guitar Grip unlike the last title, Decades, which came out with both bundled and game-only. Right now there are other new features, one of them is "
Fan Requests". Where I believe that the better you play, the more fans you garner and when they ask for you to play a song, you better play it well or else lose some fanbase. Also, Modern Hits still retains it's compatibility with the previous 2 GH:OT so anyone can "
Rock Out!" using
ANY GH:OT cartridge. Nobody is leftout on this Tour.

- Personal Trainer: Walking
This game actually comes bundled with two "
activity meter" pedometers (
colored black and white), which count steps and wirelessly sync to the DS, where the data is analyzed and presented. The activity meters can store up to seven days' worth of data before needing to be synced to the DS, which itself can hold up to five years of data. Information for up to four people can be stored on one copy of the game. Nintendo also indicated that the activity meter could be attached to a pet's collar to track the activity of animal companions. No kidding! If you can't find other human to go with you on your vigil, you can take an animal with you instead. That's... kinda sad if you think about it. Hehe! Statistics come in the form of charts that Nintendo claims can reveal "
life rhythm" patterns, such as when the most active and sedentary moments of the day are, in order to plan for more or less activity on future days. Days can also be rated, based on the amount of activity, and daily walking goals can also be set to encourage more activity. You can even use Miis (
from Wii) to represent you on the records acquired from all the walking you've done. Nice to see my Mii take on a more proactive approach.
I've tried my had already today on how this went and I'm glad I was able to meet my goal though I'm wondering why I took 6K+ steps whilst my companion only had 2.5K steps. I'm thinking maybe on the difference we do our walking. The results really vary for each user.
