My hubby and I are both employed and part of our company benefits is the health card. Pwede sana naming ikuha mga sons namin as dependent, problem is sobrang laki pa rin ng premium (around P17k per head for a P100k coverage) that's why we scouted for a cheaper one. Healthy naman mga kids namin and wala naman kaming mga pre-existing condition so okay lang na mas mababa ang coverage. Kailangan lang talaga namin for check-up and emergency purposes. My officemate recommended medicard. Google their website. We plan to enroll within the week or next week. We'll get the plan P800, P66k coverage per illness per person. For one principal and 2 dependents, premium is around P17k.

My babies have 2 health cards - Maxicare (from my husband's company; covers confinement and emergency) and Medicard (from my company; covers out-patient consultations, confinement and emergency).  It's really convenient to have a health card but our choice of doctors is not confined to the health card alone.  In fact, their main doctor is not accredited with either Maxicare and Medicard but we don't like to switch them to another doctor at this point because their pedia-neonatologist knows their medical history from birth.

my daughter is under maxicare as well. we paid around Php2.k for a Php250k coverage (the premium is subsdized by hubby's company). funny thing though, we didnt know that her pedia (who happens to be my lola) is affliated with maxicare. so from the very start her checkups are free. it was only when she was hospitalized we learned that. from then on, we used na her maxicare during checkups para somehow may kikitain naman yung pedia niya from us.

Kakaawa kase.

Mura lang ba sa Fortunecare? All hospitals?

We have Medicard and I like their service. Their doctors are good. One of the owners (or son of the owner ata) visits confined patients daily to check if their needs are being attended to. If you raise concerns sa kanya, he addresses it din agad.
