Who's into scrapbook?

mga sis,
i'm kinda new to scrapbooking so would like to ask for yor suggestions. ano ba ang difference ng d-ring & post bound albums? ano ang mas ok gamitin?

also what's the ideal size ba ng album? 12 x 12 or 8 x 8? yung mas madaling hanapan ng background pages? thanks again

^hi sis, ang difference ng d-ring album and post-bound album is the binding. The d-ring album is bounded by 2 d-shaped rings which makes rearranging your pages a snap because it's so easy to put the pages apart and then together again. The post-bound is like the old-fashioned albums where the pages are bounded by 2 or 3 screw posts. The pages can be rearranged but it is far more tasking because of the screw. I personally prefer the d-ring and use this almost exclusively. I use American Crafts d-ring 12x12 album which I bought from www.rekindledmoments.com

When choosing albums, depends on your needs. Papers are typically sized as 12x12 (imported) but I see some local ones which are sized 8x8. Depends really on what you want. 12x12 are pretty big. It can be very heavy especially if kids or elderly ang titingin ng album. 8x8 is just the right size if ok na sayo ang maliit. But the 8x8 will hold fewer photos, or smaller photos for that matter. Really depends on the availability or your preference. Hope this helps.

i'm into digital scarpbooking... parang nagsawa na ako.. and now i want to try the traditional one... kaya lang sa dami ng naiisip ko at dami ng mga pictures hindi ko alam kung saan ko sisimulan....

pero ang saya-saya at nakakainggit kapag nagtitingin ako nga mga finished product ng mga magagaling nating sissies dito na nakatapos na ng isang album....

^naku sis wala na atang iba. Mejo mahal rin kasi mag-organize ng ganun lalo pag hindi mo mabenta lahat ng kits. Kita ko sa mga scrap fairs eh ang daming tirang past kits ng Studio Azul. Sa U.S. marami and yung ibang sikat eh sold out pa lagi. Hay, kelan kaya mag-boom ang scrapbook industry dito sa atin...

Ay sayang naman pala. Pero tama yung sinabi mong sana magboom pa ang scrapbooking industry. We need more products

i've tried digital scrapbooking but i enjoy the traditional way more.  so far i've completed one for a friend who's a first time mom.  i hope to start doing one again soon. ipon muna ng embellishments.

i was wondering where i can find a circle cutter na naa-adjust yung size/diameter ng circle?  i'm about to begin scrabooking our pics and i thought of making circles. hirap kasi mag-cut pag pabilog eh.

tagal ko na rin gusto magstart pero walang time... sa divi lang ba makakabili ng stickers, decors, etc na mura? tia

^If you're gonna use divisoria-bought supplies, make sure to keep duplicates of your photos. I'm sure masira ang mga photos nyo agad dahil malamang hindi acid-free ang mga supplies sa divi. Sayang lang scrapbooks nyo, in 5 years sira na mga yan.

help mga sis. i'm planning to give an accordion album as a gift to a friend this march but wala pa kong nagagawa na traditional album kahit isa. konti pa lang din mga supplies ko. naisip ko na lang ibigay isang 12x12 layout na lang tapos pa-frame ko. ok lang ba yun? baka kase hinde ko matapos yung accordion album eh. 
few questions po...anong basic material/tools ang dapat bilhin ko? aside sa online sellers, may iba pa bang store sa mga malls aside sa NBS at Craft World? TIA

ah okay, dapat pala acid-free to last. thanks, wala talaga me alam kasi,  di ko nga alam pano simulan.... san mura bumili ng materials? tia

pinakamura na sa NBS sis. Kaso di pa nga ko masyado kampante kung talagang acid-free lahat ng supplies nila. Pag branded (and therefore imported) eh 100% sure ako na safe to use sa photos yan. Ano ba mga alternative na supplies that you can use...try nyo:

• buttons
  fabric flowers
  ribbons and laces
  acrylic paints and stamps (you can try to use vegetables as stamps!)
  stitching (hand or machine)

Yan pa lang mga naiisip ko. Scrapbooking kasi is really expensive lalo pag serious ka to preserve your creations. Kasi you wanna make sure that they last diba. For example baby pa yung anak mo, gusto mo na makita nya parin yung scrapbooks about him/her kahit teenager na sya.

I started with doing scrapbooks before pero hindi rin ako nagtagal.  Last year naman when I went to Canada to visit my friend, she introduced me to "stamping" which is somewhat similar din to scrapbooking.  I'm not sure if may gumagawa na rin dito nun but the materials you use are basically the same but instead of making a scrapbook you make cards.  I found this to be more useful kasi instead of being done with my scrapbook and making it tambak, this one I can use and give away.  So instead of buying those 100plus pesos na designer cards in fully booked, gumagawa nalang ako. FUN din siya.

Has anyone here been into that as well?

^hi sis! it seems interesting. pano mo ginagawa un? do you have sample pictures that you can share with us? naisip ko din na baka after kong gumawa ng scrapbook ay iisang tabi ko na [textspeak!] cya. hehe!

i actually bought some materials for scrapbooking at National Bookstore last December, hindi ko pa din nasimulan yung scrapbook ko kasi wala akong maisip na design, wala pa din akong idea kung pano ko cya sisimulan and just to share na din, yung first scrapbook ko will be a documentary of my achievement for the last few years.

sana may mga sisses pa tayo dito na mag share ng mga creations at kaalaman nila about scrapbooking because i'm really excited at na inspire naman ako na ituloy ang aking project.
