sis, usually rinirearrange yung strings nun. (pag binaliktad ang gitara)

sis, ganda nga ng panahon ngayon. may online videos sa youtube. may mga online website tutorial (free or may bayad)
or meron pang mga forums etc...

Noong time ko eh, umasa ako sa Guitar Magazines na order ko from US, instructional cassette tapes (tagal na noh?), VHS video, stop and shop!! sta. mesa ako lagi noon, namimili ng xeroxed instruction materials, may tabs din sila duon if you're into it. of course, dikit dikit ako sa mga magagaling sa amin sa school.

ta try ko nga yan, i'll have my guitar re-stringed (?) sa rest day ko eh..

makahanap nga sa youtube.. gusto ko kasi karirin mga kanta ni david cook kaya gusto ko na talaga mag-gitara eh hehe.

sis, yung iba, hindi na nila i rearrange yung string.

rearranging strings,without doing some slight changes in the bridge, may mess up slightly the guitar's intonation.

yung sa classical guitar ko noon, nafliflip ata, yung plastic part ng bridge, kung saan sumasampa yung strings. kaya ok lang na mag rearrange.

pero meron talagang nag rerearrange sis. i just dont know how they compensate for the intonation. ingat lang sa nut slot sis, lalaki butas nun.

oops sorry about that sis. you can try siguro re arranging the strings muna and see if they still sound good kahit naka baliktad na.

by the way, i practiced last night, basag na pala yung gitara ko *sad* pero okay pa naman.. do you recommend lumanog (yun kasi yung gamit ko ngayon eh)? i might consider just buying a brand spanking new one hehe

sis medyo wala na akong alam sa current status ng lumanog.

Noong time ko, medyo panget ang lumanog. BUT may kaibigan ako na may Lumanog na napakaganda ang tunog. I asked him paano niya natsambahan. sipag at tiyaga lang daw sa kaka test. different shops etc. yun pala, nakatira pala sya sa may stop and shop sta mesa. Feeling ko inaaraw araw niya yun, at may mga nakaibigan din siguro siya sa mga shops na inabisuhan siya na "may magandang dumating." ang nakita kong draw back sa gitara niya eh manipis yung kahoy at average workmanship. iba pa din ang pagkapulido ng 1000 dollar level na acoustic guitar. but his guitar sounded like a very good thousand plus dollar guitar.

May magandang brand for me ha, Don Jon. naimpress ako sa 10-15+ thousand peso models. Si freddie aguilar nga nagpagawa ng guitar sa kanila.

pero they have guitars talaga at different price levels (madami sis, from a few hundred pesos to the thousands).

so you may want to visit their store sa stop and shop. maybe you can request for a lefty. siguro naman they can arrange that. imho they should.

ano ba mas ok, yung string or [textspeak!] nylon?

Acoustic wise, if you don't want to spend much, you may want to visit Don Jon sa stop and shop sta mesa.

as i mentioned, in one of my post, they have a guitar for every budget level, from just a few hundred pesos to the thousands.

or you also may opt for the cheapy ones in JB, Lazer etc. I think they come from China/Indo/Korea.

Para sa akin. if you're into popular music or rock. get a steel stringed acoustic na madali mag bend ng strings. yep may ganun. But personally, kung rock ang pag uusapan. cheap electric guitar.

kung pastrum strum lang, then Nylon MAY do.

^depende sa budget. if you want to spend less than 2k meron nag sa JB. sorry pero sa experience ko, sayang pera sa lumanog eh. if you can stretch your budget further, you can get a decent one at yupangco/perfect pitch/yamaha wait mo yun sale nila sa sometime october...handog sale ata yun.

hmm gas ako sa ME70 bro! hehe

@tinkletown, get a steel stringed guitar na madali mag bends, slides etc. mas ma aappreciate mo yung music. there are cheap ones na maganda ang sound.

guitar gurus, pano mag strum? mejo kabisado ko na kasi yung chords ng gusto kong kanta eh, kaso wala akong alam sa strum nia.. parang amboring tuloy... me technique ba dun?

basta ma perfect ko tong kanta na gusto ko, i'm gonna get myself a new guitar as a gift =) hanapin ko na yung Don Jon na recommended ninyo..
