i used to play alot of music instruments.. i started with organ.. then banduria, bandolino, guitar, base guitar, xylophone..

but i wish itinuloy tuloy ko specially.. piano.. sayang.

got myself a Gibson Firebird, i dont get to use it much as i use my Emily Strange Gibson Epiphone G-310...

Parang feeling ko di bagay sa hindi malupet mag gitara yung firebird... hehe!!

Sino ba dito pwede magturo sakin? hehe! yung medyo mahaba ang patience.. harrr...

mga bro and sis here in GT who knows how to play the guitar, question lang po. may age limit po ba sa mga gusto mag-aral ng guitar? i'm on my 30's na kasi pero since i was a teenager gusto ko na talaga mag-aral ng guitar (wala lang akong pambili ng sarili kong gitara that time). may suggestion po ba kayo kung saan ok mag-aral and ano ok na guitar for beginners? TIA for the replies.

^wala naman.although maganda rin na magstart at an early age. may tinuruan ako dati, she's on her 30-ish natuto naman siya..btw, i started to play the guitar when i was 16. first song na natugtog ko was "now and forever" by richard marx...it took 6 mos. para makaplay ako ng 1 song..then the rest is history.

my mentor taught me to use the guitar with the nylon cord...mas malalaki kasi frets noon mas mapapadali ang pagkatuto mo sa paglipat lipat ng chords. although mahirap sa umpisa...affordable and quality guitars can be purchased in music stores in sta mesa..dun ako nakabili..nalimutan ko na klase ng kahoy pero mahal yung made of spruce. lumanog brand is ok.

Spruce will always be expensive. specially kung A grade pataas.

I was able to play a roughly 3 inch thick acoustic guitar, made of high quality spruce. I tapped my fingers on the top, sides and back of the guitar. makapal sya. but the sound....grabe....daig pa ang standard acoustic sa lakas. buo ang sound...very clear.

kung inclined po ang isang tao sa Rock, metal etc,---with a very deep desire to learn and improve, then, imho, better to start with a cheap electric guitar set (guitar and amp package) and use light gauge strings like .008s. light gauge will be easy on the fingers.

I learned how to play using a classical guitar and folk guitar. looking back, with the passion i had back then, these two guitars were limiting.

how about you, what can you suggest?

btw, i ended up buying the Fender Pro Junior.

^not sure about acoustics bro, but always look for spuce for a natural acoustic tone. pass the ones that are laminated. i agree, limiting yun acoustic if you want to learn electric. sabi nga ni van halen, if you want to lear to play the lectric guitar, get an electric guitar! hehe besides you cant do a pinch harmonics in an acoustic guitar hehe

@slickchick
you can also get a decent acoustic at around 7k price range. sale ng din ng yamaha sa april 18-30 baka makakuha ka ng magandang deal. guitars are investment so try to get the best value for the money.

a cousin of mine handed me a Lumanog guitar (classical ata). since he bought and shifted to an electric guitar, he just gave his old Lumanog to me. since mga 5 years ago pa daw yun, papalitan ko na lang daw ng strings. time to look for a good guitar school.

dami naman guitar schools dyan. you can also check the ads baka meron guitar teacher living near you, pwede ka pa home service. most guitar enthusiasts i know are self taught musicians.

ilang taon ko na yatang hindi hinahawakan yung violin ko. kahit Cannon lang ang kabisado ko dun.
