Never pa akong nabuhay sa isang house na may house help.. I wanted to, especially now na marami na talagang kailangan gawin sa araw araw.. pero wala sa sistema ko ang magka maid eh.. Sanay ako sa house chores.. basta complete sa gamit ang kitchen and washing machine is always available.

it's almost 3 yrs since we have a yaya/maid.  i'm just a sahm so it keeps me busy doing my duties... my kids were more responsible in keeping their things & somehow taking care of their needs (like taking a bath/getting dressed/preparing their things for school), hubby is now more open to do household chores like ironing some clothes, cleaning dishes & cleaning some of our appliances. at least, di na siya masyadong nakababad sa computer.  :) but more importantly, having no maid made us closer & our bonding time is sharing the household chores. and my favorite part, going to restos/fastfoods esp during weekends. if meron kasi maid, syempre dagdag gastos sa order when you eat outside. :) i think it's just a matter of time management so you can cope up with all the things that you have to do at home... mas okay na sa akin walang maid. and for driver, no need as i drive naman and hatid sundo ko si bunso sa school.

nung hindi pa mahirap ang buhay, we used to have a driver pero now that we know how to drive, di na kailangan.

siguro pag may baby na since pareho kaming working.

kaya naman... yung cleaning lang ng rooms, ironing and washing of the clothes ang medyo nakakapagod kaya my brother and i suggested na pag umuwi mom namin sa province next week, hanap na rin sya. yun lang naman... the rest of the chores pwede na namin pagtulungan.

i grew up with a househelp who's at my beck and call all the time.

since my parents were both full time employees, their way of easing our domestic lives is by employing a couple of helpers.  for a family of 4, we have 3 housemaids and a houseboy.  so just imagine if there's anything left at all for me to do.  in spite of that, i am not ignorant of chores.  i was a curious bystander whenever helpers perform their tasks.  and i ask questions a lot.  which probably came in handy when one day i asked my father if i can spend college in manila.  and he's got a ready reply "marunong ka bang maglaba ng damit mo?"  and of course i said YES!  (but never imagined how painfully strong detergents can be on your hands!  di uso ang washing machines sa dormitoryo)

so anyhow, that's where my domesticity started.  i learned to cook, organise, clean, etc.  i never had a problem doing all these chores even until i decided to emigrate to australia.

but of course singlehood is different from having a partner with a toddler along in a country where domestic help is greatly discouraged/inaccessible.  without a househelp is not easy but manageable if you know how to abide by your schedule.  time management is the key and right attitude helps.  my husband and i share the load, none of those pinoy mentality na babae ka dapat pagsilbihan mo ang asawa mo hence ikaw lang ang gagawa sa bahay.  well i didn't marry to be a muchacha, did i?  ;D

it's good to have helpers, it worked for my parents.  but not having one wasn't so bad.  afterall we can still spend quality family time in the midst of vacuuming, mopping, and even washing the car!

if i'm not working, kaya kong wala. kahit may katulong kami since childhood, hindi naging reason for us not to learn chores. kaya lang now, wala ako choice but to hire househelp kasi di ko naman makakaya, i have 2 kids. yung husband ko pa, hindi marunong maglaba-plantsa-luto hehe

i am a working mom with 2 kids (and another baby is on the way), so maids are a MUST for me. I have 3 right now, one each for my kids, and another is an all-around. I want my yaya na nakatutok sa bata, ( i don't have playpens or cribs nor railings sa stairs). even my eldest who is in kinder, yaya pa rin ang hatid at sundo.

We can live without a driver...

i was able to survive for several years without a maid since i got married. honestly, i'm still struggling kahit dalawa lang kami ni hubby sa house kasi most of the time ako ang gumagawa ng household chores.  :'(
kaya on weekends hinihiram ko  na lang yung maid ng mommy ko to help me out.

nope. i cant, lalo na ngayon 2 na daughters ko, i need assistant talaga.
Wala pa si hubby, nasa abroad. So mahirap for me to do lahat ng house chores & at the same time mag-aalaga ng bata.

kung ako lang mag-isa, kaya ko siguro.  basta...

- may budget ako for takeout food and laundry haha!
- staying in a condo/smaller space

kung may family naman, basta wala nang less than 7yo, kaya ko narin... basta:
- hubby helps also, as in 50-50 kami sa household chores.

hirap lang talaga ako sa laundry, cooking at pagplantsa.  paglinis naman madali lang.  :D

Dati when I was single, working and still living with my mom, I prefer to have a maid.  Pero now that I'm married and work from home kayang kaya na wala.  Hubby is very helpful naman and good thing na marunong naman ako sa bahay :)
