ako naman yung savings account ng baby ko sa Metrobank.  it's called Fun Savers and meron siyang kasamang insurance. insured ang isa sa parents tapos yung baby ang beneficiary.  it's also an ITF account.  yung amount ng insurance depends on the amount of savings in the account.

aside from that, my mom got him a trust fund also with Metrobank

Yes, this seems to be the better package for kids -- Metrobank.  BUT, because of the financial US fall-out -- if I were you, I would be cautious about dealing with this bank muna.  Baka malaki downside with investment banks that went bankrupt.  Let the "fall-out" settle down a bit.

In the meantime,  be disciplined about putting aside each month a specific amount for your kid's future -- whether this is put in a simple S/A or later on, a fixed-deposit Trust Fund.  That is the important issue -- saving consistently for the child's future needs.  It is never too early to start.

thanks for the tip sis aqua!  yup, that's what we do. we make it a point to put something in my baby's account every month, tapos all his monetary gifts are placed there as well.

Thanks sis :-*

kat

we opened time deposit sa bdo for my son...liit din interest pero at least meron. we started it when he was born tapos consistently we put the monetary gifts for him dun. separate pa yung pang-education nya in the future. sabi kasi better na lang ganyan kesa "ma-holdap" ng educational insurance firms.  ???

Have you opened a bank account for your baby?  Which type?

We've long planned of opening one for our little Asher kaso di namin alam kung san magandang bank or which type of account ang ioopen for him.

Which bank ba yung merong tipong kiddie savings account? Or for babies, trust fund lang ba talaga? or nakapangalan pa rin sa inyo solely?

Just availed of BPI's dollar time deposit for my baby. And also life insurance nga pala, just in case something happens (knock on wood).  ;)

BDO Junior savers for my 10 year old and my 6 month old sons.  ITF sa 6 months old, while may ATM naman si Kuya, he can withdraw his money on his own na :)

We don't have kids yet.  ??? Pero when we got, we opened a time deposit account para sana for our future baby. Kaso, wala pa. Now, magagamit na yong account next year for my IVF in Singapore!!!  ;D

Mia din yun yung plan namin for her Metrobank Fun Savers Club. Lahat ng monetary gifts from her birthday, Christmas, at pag napagtripan lang siyang bigyan, dun namin nilalagay. It will serve as her educational fund as well. :)

correct ka sis, risky kase sa mga education plan mag invest ngayon eh... ako din kaka open ko lang ng account for my 2.5 years old daughter... like you lahat ng monetary gifts doon ko nilalagay...

hi!  for savings account, which is much better ba the metro bank kiddie savings or the BDO junior savings?  When I browsed kasi parang mas maraming discounted establishment sa metrobank and may welcome gift.  Wala kasi ako much details nakita sfor the BDO.  Thanks.

Also ano requirements, aside from birth certificate and P500?  2 valid IDs ko rin ba?  Thanks, pasensya na marami tanong  :)

i tried applying for the metrobank fun savers kaso when i went there, they were asking for baranggay certificate pa. kaya tinamad na ko mag-apply. maganda sana nga kasi sabi nyo may insurance pang kasama for the account holder.

siguro ill try the BDO junior savings account na lang.

i had my daughters get an account at BDO junior savers club.
