Do you lend your books?

i used to but they came back so worn out that it annoyed the hell out of me, so now i dont unless they promise to take really good care of it or else they'll have to buy me a new one! im kinda oc when it comes to books, i have a huge collection, some are brand new, all in pristine condition

only to those i really trust. hehe. at yung sigurado ako aalagaan ang book same way i do.

this is my dilemma now. ayaw ko ipahiram ang twilight books ko eh. pero nahihiya naman ako tumanggi since family naman ang humihiram. selfish much talaga..kaso baka kasi di nila alagaan eh..

i do and i don't-- i lend them if the books are part of the used collection [ie books i bought in used bookstores that already have creased spines, folded pages, etc]

i dont lend them out if the book is still in pristine condition. I don't like it when i lend out a book in almost brand new condition and it comes back and has creases in the spines, etc. I'm OC rin kasi with my books and consider them as part of the collection.

Yes and no. Sa mga sisters and brother ko since gusto ko rin naman na may makausap ako about the books I've read. I really tell them not to bring the book anywhere, kundi sa house lang. Ok din naman sila, they really take good care of my books.

No na talaga from people outside my house! I've learned my lesson! I used to lend my books to my close friends. Last year lang, dami ko bad memories  Yung one of my closest friends eh nag-borrow sya ng New Moon ko...argghh...the outside pages were kinda dirty-looking na and may creases na sa spine. And then yung ibang friends, ang tagal isauli. Yung Gossip Girl 1, 2, and 3, it took 5 months before nasauli (I always told her na i need them na pero dedma lang talaga). And then yung Da Vinci Code ko to another friend. Grabe sobrang gutay-gutay na yung book.

Noong highschool ..oo. But since walang nakabalik sa mga pinahiram ko...
eversince, hindi na ako nagpahiram uli.

Yes dati kaso dalawa lang nangyayari eh-- either di na naibalik or may sira na. OC pa naman ako.. So NO na now..

Nakakainis minsan kasi ang daming nanghiram ng books sa akin tapos wala ng solian. Bakit sila ganun. Huhu. Kaya minsan ayoko na ring magpahiram. They do not value the books. In my case tinatago ko talaga kasi it's not really about the price of the book but the knowledge that can be taken from them. Imbis maipapasa ko pa sa mga anak ko.

Before oo but now ayaw ko na. Ayoko kasing pagbalik may mga folds ang pages. For my (precious kasi tagal kong hinintay) Twilight Saga... a definite NO.. selfish na kung selfish.. I'll send them ebooks na lang.

of course it is peeving when the borrower has lost all concept of his obligation to return. but for me i'd rather risk it especially when i'm dying to find what a person thinks about the book i just read.

  -- yes nung highschool pero ngayon medyo pili na lang ang pinapahiram ko.. takot ako na hindi na maibalik yung books ko.. super love na love ko pa naman yung mga books ko..

I maybe mean but I don't lend my books anymore. I hardly get them back. If you do lend an item just be prepared to never see it again.

i rarely lend books.  and all those rare times, my books never came back.  like the harry potter goblet of fire hard bound book ko!!!!

i do sometimes.. kaya lang nakakainis if it doesnt comeback na.. napapraning ako!
