I've read more than once that it's not the thread count that matters but the feel (there are some brands that "cheat" by counting the strands or plies that make up an individual thread as additional threads. In other words, a thread count of 600 might really be just 300 low-quality double-ply threads). Can someone please recommend where to buy sheets that are soft and cool to the touch (or which brand)?Buying Sheets 101: Don't Get Swindled by Thread Counthttp://shine.yahoo.com/work-money/buying-sheets-101-dont-get-swindled-by-thread-count-2392182.html
