i hope someone could help me...

OUr internet connection is wireless broadband, using a USB modem.  i want sana to connect my iphone thru wi-fi using my PC's internet connection.  Merong bang gadget to buy like a wifi router na wireless din? no need to connect it to a cable coz our modem is USB, and not cable or ADSL.
 
Is there such a device ba?  Wireless Router without the ports...

Hi!

Anyone here has any idea how much Huawei MiFi sells for in Greenhills?  I checked eBay.ph and the average price is P5,000-6,000.00.  If you subscribe to Globe (Plan P499 or P999), you only add P149.00 per month to pay for the unit. I think this is for a 24-month lock in period. 

Ano ba magandang options?  I'm thinking, instead of being charged for our data plan, hubby and I can enjoy wi-fi through the MiFi at 1 lang babayaran namin.  At most 5 devices can connect to a MiFi and it doesn't have to be connected to a pc or laptop.

Any ideas?

sino na ang naka try nito from cdrking,  1500php lang kasi.. mukang okay.   plug in lang si USB broadband like Sun, tapos pwede na mag wifi up to 5 computers...

Thanks for bringin this up.  I checked it out earlier at CDR-King, it sells for P1,480.00.  This is the wi-fi router with USB and LAN ports.

Pwede ang broadband USB - Tattoo, Smart Bro and Sun, and even the wired broadband connection with LAN ports.  It's best to bring your stick with you so you can check agad.  They will configure the device for the network to be used.  Remember that CDR-King only allows exchanges and not refunds.

This has a power plug pa, and with our existing wired broadband connection, at home ang dami pa rin palang nakasaksak.  I am thinking of eliminating the wirings at home so I guess my best option for that (and for mobility) is still the pocket wi-fi. 

I was looking for Villman to check out Huawei pocket wifi as pointed out by billy but all the computer/tech stores at Festival Mall do not carry it.  I'm hoping to find a cheaper source.

Sa Smart naman, the subscription is either P495 plus P150.00 for the device paid for in 12 months. 

If you don't need the device (derecho na lang sa tablet or other gadget), Plan 999 which is SIM only could work for you.

actually,  hindi for home ang gamit ko sa kanya eh.  sa work ko sha balak dalahin.  jahe kasi na may broadband stick ako tapos my staff couldnt log on din.  so balak ko, mag share whenever im online.  up to 5 daw pwede sumakay sa connection ng Sunstick diba...

anyway,  sige, aralin ko all my options.  actually,  happy naman na ako sa pldt dsl namin at home.  pang workplace lang talaga si cdrking mobile wifi.

My linksys compact wrt54gc suddenly decides to retire on me!

I don't know what happened, the other day bigla na lang ayaw mag-power on..haay!
Ok pa naman sana sya, been using it since 2008, via 2 different dsl connections (my old dsl is smartbro, last year i switched to bayandsl) with no problems.

Now, i'm on a lookout for a good replacement...

Anybody using linksys wrt120N here? feedbacks/reviews please... thanks!

^sis wala akong nareceive na pm eh. did you use ad hoc connection? ako kasi naka sun broadband usb stick. kabit ko lang sa isang laptop (w/ win7 os) then gagawa lang ng adhoc connection with internet sharing enabled. kahit more than 5 devices kayang magconnect. i tried connecting another laptop, netbook, itouch and wifi phones all at the same time. of course babagal yung net since madaming naghahati na nung bandwidth pero hindi naman napuputol. so i don't see the need for me to buy a pocket wifi. kahit using LAN cable connection pwedeng gawin yun.

got buffalo for 1300. kaso mahina na signal pagdating sa room ko sa 2nd flr. im going to buy linksys pagbalik ko sa pinas.

^you have to get an N series for the router... if you want a better signal even across rooms/floors   


B - cheapest & oldest; can cover around 1 room
G - better signal than a B; can cover around more rooms;
N - farther range; quality and the signal is going to be much higher; top performance (bandwidth/speed)

What we're using at home is the Encore Router -- sa CDR-King namin siya binili and it's like a third-party paroduct na binebenta nila. Only worth 1,500 but it's really good. Mabilis din and is also compatible with any wireless gadget. Wireless B/N/G na kasi siya. ^__^

Sa condo naman ng sister ng hubby ko, they've bought Apple's router din for their Macbook and I'm speechless! Looks like a bit pricey for a router though 'coz it's worth 8k, pero the brand and quality naman is what we're talking about here.. In a blink of an eye lang yata ang pag-browse sa different web pages sa sobrang bilis and layo rin ng coverage, kahit nasa elevator na kami at malayo na yung pinto ng unit nila, sagap pa rin ng ipad ko yung signal.. I actually want one at home too pero ok pa naman for now ang performance nng encore so prob.in the future nalang if in case sira na siya..


I've also read a lot of reviews din on Huawei pocket wifi and mukhang ok rin siya.

I am using cdr king router, I have been using it for almost 3 years. All I can say is that their router works well. We never unplug our router since the time na kinabit sya ( as in walang patayan to) naman ako nagkakaproblem.

Nawawala lang signal kapag brownout pero ok naman as soon as magkailaw na ulit.
Isang beses pala unplug ko sya nung nag-undoy, kasi aabutin ng baha yung outlet, where the router is plugged.
