i tried gigi's cupcakes kanina.  I went there to buy their custaroons but ubos na raw kaya bought na lang their red elvet, choco and sea salt choco.  Parang it's the best red velvet i've tried so far... It's super moist and sakto lang tamis.  I also like the cream cheese frosting

I love Sophie's Mom red velvet cupcake. The cream cheese frosting has perfect texture and taste. The cupcake itself is soft and yummy too. I also bought rainbow butter, truffle choco and cheesecake brownies and will try them out later.

love ko new Cupcakery here sa Cavite @ The District yung Khay's Dessert & Cafe.. sarap lahat ng cupcakes, shakes and pasta cute pa ng interior and utensils.. pinaka favorite ko dito yung Dark Chocolate Cupcake, 2nd yung redvelvet... aliw yung Strawberry Shortcakes cute cute pa... love ko den Pesto Pasta.. gusto ko ulet bumalik this weekend to try some other food sa menu..

Yummy rin yung rainbow butter cupcake and truffle choco cupcake ng sophie's mom. Yung cheesecake brownies medyo ok lang.

ang pinakamasarap na cupcake ng Sophie's mom ay ang RVC nila, ang rainbow cupcake ay masarap din naman pero mas prefer ko ang RVC. ang blueberry cheesecake in a cup nila ay masarap except for the blueberry topping.. mala-jam kasi ang consistency at matamis na nakakaumay for me.. pero super natamisan ako sa Truffle Brownie Cup.. sweet tooth naman ako pero hindi ko talaga naubos..

antagal ko nang gustong i-try yung Gigi's. unfortunately tuwing pupunta kami ng eastwood lagi ko nakakalimutan, so nung nagpunta kami ng Shangri-la Plaza tinikman ko. hindi ko alam kung taste buds ko lang may diperensya o ano...hindi ko siya type. i know around 50php lang siya so baka hindi talaga sila direct in competition with Sonja pero, ang konti ng icing at parang vanilla lang nalalasahan ko.

tapos sa branch na yun wala silang custaroons, which dun talaga ata sa product na yun sila nakilala. also, parang melted na yung icing at ang nipis. hindi rin exciting tignan.

Craving for some red velvet. The rvc of Vanilla, i like a lot kasi it tastes fresh, parang my lemon zest siya.

Will eat tomorrow the rvc of sonja's and i'm eager to try yung choco cream cupcake nila, looks decadent.

Chocolate cupcake wars: Cupcakes by Sonja vs. Vanilla Cupcake Bakery

I bought chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting for my kids from these two cupcake purveyors on two consecutive days.

Cupcakes by Sonja (Shang East Wing branch) - dry ang cake and the frosting has sugar crystals pa, hindi pino ang pagkaka-mix ng frosting (or is it supposed to be that way?); super overrated though the coffee here is good

I also had choco cupcake with mocha frosting.  Honestly, Mom & Tina's version is way better and cheaper.

Vanilla Cupcake Bakery (UPTC branch) - the cupcake is very sweet because of the frosting but the cake is moist; the frosting has a smooth texture, wala akong na-feel na sugar crystals.  Same price points but this is better value for money than Sonja's chocolate cupcake.

Even in Eastwood branch they don't serve the Custaroons. If you want to try/order, you can get in touch with Gigi Gaerlan and tell her for pick up at the branch. I chanced upon her one time and she said puwede naman daw.

^ are gigi's custaroons the same one they sell at a small store in padre pio? i remember a visiting colleague from Singapore who kept harping on and on and on about those custarooms. so we ended up buying him a big box to send him off with when he flew back to sg. yummy naman. if that's the same brand, then the custaroons are miles better than the cupcakes which are just ok.

Yun nabili ko sa vanilla cupcake sa bgc sobbbranng tamis masugar2x pa ang belgian choco. D ko malasahan ang choco puros tamis lang. Ganda nun place nila first time ko makatry kaso d na ako uulit.
