ako meron ako nito .. 16 years old nung nalaman, nagbrace ako, kaso tinigil ko kasi pag sa school. ang init2x tas di ako makakilos ng maayos .. ngayon 18 na ko, gusto ko sana mag part time sa mcdo, ok na sana kaso di ako physically fit dahil nga sa likod ko, nung huling check up, ang alam ko  nasa 28 degrees ata, mejo lumala na ata ngayon, madalas kasing sumakit, kahapon tinry ko mag pa chiropathy, give ko kayong updates after a month kung may pagbabago.. sabi nga pala sakin ng doctor, iwasan daw natin mag cross leg pag nakaupo, may tendecy kc na mas bumaba pa yung affected na area ng spine column natin, yun lang :)

A few weeks ago I had my back checked sa ortho. I knew I had scolio na before but I didnt know the degrees of my scolio. Then after having xray done (as requested by the doctor) 10 degrees lang pala yung aken. I thought super lala na kasi halata talaga siya. Uneven ang waist ko kasi ang curve nasa lower part of the spine.

My doctor recommended that I do pilates or yoga daw. How effective mga sis ang pilates and yoga in lessening the pain sa back area? Medyo expensive kasi..

super thankful talaga ako na nabasa ko thread na 'to. napatawag tuloy ako sa clinic namin to avail of my annual check up (na two year ko na dine-deadma)..

Have you tried chiropractic therapy? It worked wonders on my scoliosis, hindi na ko dumaan sa back brace. My scoliosis wasn't severe naman, pero i had numbing of my left arms and hands, legs and feet, shooting pain up my left thigh, tapos back and shoulder pains.

After my consultation with the director of the facility, he recommended that I get 6 once-a-week sessions of reflexology and chiropractic treatment @ P800/session. He also prescribed herbal medications to loosen and moisturize the joints. My xrays all came out good after that, and i feel 100% better!!  Now I get therapy once a month na lang for maintainance, lahi kasi namin talaga scoliosis, kaya kelangan alagaan pa din.

For the past 8 months, no therapy for me because i'm pregnant. Mejo hirap ako ngayon because of the added weight of the baby, we have it harder compared to other pregnant women without scoliosis. I have some back pain, some numbing sa left extremities pero i have full confidence in the treatment i will be getting at the facility after giving birth. Ill get to see my therapist again and my body will go back to the way it was: pain-free... :)

I don't know if it's ok to post details here but here goes.. i just want to able to help.. :)

I heard about this too from my officemate na may scoliosis. According to her, okay nga daw. It really helped with the pain.

Might try this soon if my back pain worsens. Topical gel lang kasi ang nirecommend ng doctor ko to apply sa lower back ko to help with the pain. In fairness, my back pain significantly lessened since I started using the gel.

Had my annual check up yesterday. Confirmed nga from the general doctor na meron ako mild scolio. kaya lang nakaka-disappoint siya kausap kasi i was asking for treatments or therapies na pwede. sabi ba naman, "you can't do anything about that, wala ka na magagawa diyan. hindi naku-cure ang scoliosis." so sabi ko pano po ba yung therapy, sabi niya lang it's only to relieve the pain... na-sad naman ako kasi what said made me feel na wala na pag-asa. pero i will find ways, kasi di ba hindi nawawala yung scolio pero naaayos din somehow yung spine? hanap na lang ako ng ortho talaga. he he

^sis how old are you? kasi as what ive learned, if you are already 18, you can't correct it any more, may curvature na talaga spine mo, what you can do na lang talaga is lessen the pain,

how soon can you detect scoliosis? I am afraid that my daughter will have this too and she's only 1 year old. I haven't had check up with my scolio din and last na lam ko I have 24 degrees na. My goal this year is maasikaso talaga ang health ko especially my scoliosis.

had my first therapy session sa AKSEM last monday... nawala talaga yung pain. i was advised to do it once a week for four consecutive weeks para maayos talaga. and in-advise din ako to have exercise, sundin ang proper posture.

^^sis, mild lang naman scolio ko and sabi nung therapist maaayos pa naman daw. i'm 29 pala. :)

^my ortho doctor told me that therapy/exercise can only lessen the pain (especially if your already 20+ above, since our spine/bones are already matured na), by the way mild lang din sa akin sis, i have 13 degrees curvature to the right

ako nag-aattend ako ng therapy every year, covered naman kasi sa health card ko so inaavail ko na lang, then iyong exercise kapag may time nagagawa ko...

^^ they will put something on your back, na parang kuryente pero masarap sa pakiramdam. tapos yung exercise would depend sa scolio mo so better if you wear comfy pants.

for PT, they used TENS machine (ito iyong parang meron "kuryente" effect), then merong iyong parang ultrasound, then hot compress at the part na meron kang muscle spasm, exercise depends on the need of the patient, so just wear iyong medyo loose na pants, wag iyong mga skinny type.

I want to thank sis cai2179 for mentioning Doc Dizon here in femalenetwork, Indeed, he’s very nice, I’ve told my mom to go to st lukes together with my sis who was diagnosed with 74 degrees curvature, she’s only 13 and we know if she didn’t get treated immediately, her spine will worsen aside from that she’s experiencing difficulty in breathing, back pain and knee pain already. She’d been into brace, physical therapy for two years to no avail. To cut the story short, we we’re accommodated by doc Dizon immediately, for two weeks we tried to get the 6 units of blood needed for her surgery, we were able to give 5 units but Doc proceed with the surgery anyway, We paid around 270,000 on the rod, 15,000 for her medication during surgery and paid another 10,000 for her stay in Phil Orthopedic Center, the nurses were so nice during our 7 days of stay. My sister is still under recovery at our home, Thank God that she’s getting better now. Words are not enough on how thankful I am for this forum and for introducing Doc Dizon to me. By the way, Doc Dizon room is in Rm. 901-903 North Tower, 279 E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., Phone 723-0101; 723-0301 loc. 5901/5903. Hope anyone can post their post-surgery condition/experience here. Thanks

^sis naiyak naman ako sa post mo. I'm so happy for your sis. Pareho kami, ako 75 deg. Don't worry, as long as sundin lang sinasabi ni Doc and regular check-up, very fast ang recovery nya. I just had my surgery's 1st anniversary last May. Guess what, I was able to surf na last summer when we went home to Baler. When I had my check-up last month Doc Dizon even asked me if I enjoyed it. haha. And yes, may go signal na ko to do physical activities I was not allowed to do before. Napagkakamalan pa kong model kasi tumangkad pa ako lalo after my surgery. Pilipinas. hahaha.

And tell her, tiis lang. Mga first 2 months house-arrest talaga ako. 3rd month, nakakapag-mall na ng konti. after 4 months, nakapag-out of town nako, take-note, long trip pa yun ah-8 hour bus ride, pero my family made sure naman na comfy ako so deluxe yung sinakyan namen. 5-6th month I started to go to the gym and do pilates again, pero very light exercise lang. Nag-cycling na din ako madalas, swimming and pinayagan na din ako tumakbo ni doc though medyo hirap pa ko to run kasi matagtag pa sa likod. 8th month I was able to confirm na hindi tutunog sa airport yung bakal sa likod ko. haha. Tapos continuous exercise lang, gym, jog, swimming. Then nung 1st year nga I asked permission from Doc kung pwede na ko mag-surf.

I have mild thoracic dextroscoliosis kasi, 10 degrees, natatakot kasi ako na baka after a month or so, biglang tumaas. I am 21 y/o na. Thanks in advance :)

Eh kanina, nakita ko sa medical result nakasulat: slight dextroscoliosis of the thoracic spine. I don't know in layman's term kasi di naman ako kuba at la din problem. Then inask ako ng officemate ko if may cure. So I wonder, meron nga ba?
