^sis, at 21 i thought i knew everything.  that was arrogant of me.  but it is true that whatever you decide to do on your 20's is going to define what you're gonna do for the rest of your life.  think of it this way, the rest of your life is not gonna be lived by the people whose expectations you're trying to meet.  it's gonna be lived by you.  if you don't do the thing that will put your heart at rest, it's not gonna be them who's gonna end up being miserable.  it's gonna be you.  and you would probably end up blaming them for your misery.

i also wanted to be a lawyer for some time because it would please my dad.  i gave up because i realized it wasn't going to fulfill me as a person.  we had arguments about it, but in the end, i have never regretted my decision.  i have a job i love and it's easier for me to make decisions for myself.  i'm not saying that i know everything now.  there's a lot i've learned, and there's still a lot i'm bound to learn as i go along.

good luck, sis! ;)
great advice sis. super THANK YOU for the validation. :)

I'm turning 23 sa october 22... I have a good job, (good job means good pay also)... I have a loving boyfriend for 6 years, and sya palang first... We're planning na rin of getting married... pero sobrang stressed lage ako... parang I think too much, future, dreams, career path.. I felt like I'm left behind, since all of my friends are in abroad, but career wise I don't need to go and work there.. pero bakit ganun, parang kulang sa adventure... Sabi ko na lang magaabroad ako not for work but for leisure..=P

sisses..enjoy being twenty - something... FRESH, ADVENTUROUS and FUN..=P

I'm 28, married with 1 year old baby boy. Kala ko hihinto na mundo ko nung tumigil ako sa work and be a full time mom. But I found out that i'ts more fun and exciting Job ever  :)

Ito pa nakakataba ng puso, me and hubby attended the christian life program of CFC they ask me how old am I? and I told them that im 28. Nagulat sila kasi kala nila 19-21 year old daw ako.  ;D

tinanong ko nga si hubby kung totoo ba yun and he answer me yes!   without hesitation.

it's fun and exciting and at the same time scary. i think we have preconceptions of what we must do at this age and that, but life doesn't turn out that way.

i'm turning 27 this year, but i'm still in school with no savings. but that's ok, cause i am doing what i like and eventually, just being alive and happy is the best thing that can happen to you or us.  :)

i'm having the time of my life being twenty-something (but something tells me, i'm still going to say that when i'm already thirty-something, forty-something or even fifty-something!)

Sis I can relate to your feeling of being left behind. Buti ka pa nga you have a job and bf. Me I'm 25, single and still studying in med school. Im a bit delayed in my studies and my batchmates are somewhere higher up in the med hierarchy or have jobs na and are making a name for themselves. And for those saying this is a time for independence etc, sometimes I feel I dont get a slice of the that pie since my parents are a bit strict.

But still anyhow, despite these percieved lacks, kahit papaano I'm ok. I know I'm working towards my goal and I guess I just have to accept that its not a race and eventually in the end (as in the end end), lahat tayo parepareho ang patutunguhan. And even if my parents are strict (in terms of gimiks, outings, travel, etc) there are some things ive done that I'm proud of like organize a retreat for the streetkids here and give talks in a youth org in school.

I guess relative yung feelings natin of incompetence and yung tingin natin wala tayo in comparison to others. These feelings should push us to take stock of what we do have, do what we can about our situation and strive harder.

when i was younger i thought din i'm gonna get married at that age, 26. pero now that i'm 23 parang feeling ko 3 years is not yet enough to enjoy my single life so i'm moving the marrying age to 28-29. hehe.. basta wag lang sana 30. :)

anyway, on being 2o+

1.naappreciate ko ang school. kung pwede lang mag-aral ulit. namimiss ko. narealize ko na may regret pala kasi ako sa college. i could have had more friends, more orgs, more dates, basta more fun... pero hey its never too late..

2. i feel independent kasi i haven't asked dad for a single centavo ever since i started working.

3. sometimes i feel old, not physically old, pero parang old soul or something. parang i've been through a lot during my teen years that pag may dumating na prob i would tell myself na you've seen worse, bring it on.
