girls, madami kasi nag ooffer ng H1B visa sa fiance ko. pag kinasal na ba kami, automatic H4 ang visa ko? pwede ba mag work yon?

ayaw ko kasi yung hindi pwede mag work. advisable kaya mag migrate kami diyan? we have a very comfortable life here in Manila. kaso nga lang, ang dumi ng paligid, corrupt ang gobyerno, etc. iniisip ko tuloy mag start ng family sa U.S.

if you look at your passport, there's an -employment prohibited- notation if you're an H4 visa holder...
i was on H4 for almost 5 years...i went to school while waiting for my work authorization...when i got my work auth in feb 2007, i started work the ff month...and the rest is history....
my kids were pre-school age when we came here so i had to look after them...
my hubby called that stage, my "sleeping" period....;-)))

Sis, yung PR and GC, parehas lang yun. And to answer your question, yes. Once na-approve for PR yung husband, kasama na automatically yung wife kung nung nag-file ang husband eh kasali na ang wife. Or pwede din na kumuha ng sariling H1B, lalo na kung in-demand naman ang work profession ang wife.

^Mine expires next year, I assume the employer will renew the h1b for you.  Have you asked your employer?

Usually employer mo yung mag-eextend ng H1B mo sis. Ask them kasi medyo matagal na ang extension ng H1B, umaabot na ng 3-6 months. I think pwede naman yata magqualify ang nurses for EB2, kelangan lang may post-professional degree ka. Kasi diba ang nurses dito sa US, mostly associate degree lang.

Hi sisses! Just wanna share since before naman nagtatanong ako dito sa thread na 'to, that I just had my h1b visa interview yesterday, and praise God, na-approve naman. Usual questions lang din yung mga tinanong and wala naman inask na supporting documents. Salamat sa mga help niyo.

^ Haha oo nga eh, I just replied din sa "Chicago" thread. Nakita kita! I'll work for a law firm, office is based in downtown Chicago, business analyst. Non-IT and non-medical yung field. Yung friend mo saang company and anong line of work? Actually yung H1B petition ko, under the 2011 cap pa, it was filed just a few days before the 2011 cap reached its quota nung January. It just took a while because of the RFE, nag-add pa ng additional na months sa pag-antay.

Haha, oo madaldal kasi ako! Madalas din ako dun. Nag-aaya ng mga girltakers na magvisit dito. Will they provide accommodations for you the first few weeks/months that you're here? If alam mo na yung workplace mo, you can start checking for apartments in Rent.com or kahit craigslist. Use Google Map para lang makita mo how far yung workplace mo from the rentals. It would be best if you live downtown para di ka na magdrive. Did you know that across the nation, Chicago has the worst commute?! Grabedad. Kasama ko dyan everyday kahit hindi sa downtown ang work ko. Very convenient naman ang trains (L) and CTA buses.

Message mo ako if andito ka na, we can meet up para naman hindi ka lonely. I'm friends with sis coolchick, taga Chicago din yun. We usually meet up every weekend if may time.

Yung friend ko, actually PT yun. This 2012 fiscal year sya ni-apply and kakatapos lang din nya ng interview this week. Masaya kasi dadami na kami dito ulet, mas masaya.

Basta message mo ako if ever my questions ka. And enjoy the sunny or rainy manila kasi lumalamig na dito! Brace yourself for the Chicago winter.

Thanks sis!! Naku oo nga eh, I am kinda dreading nga yung winter! Kaloka. My sister lives in Gurnee, sakanya muna ako mag-stay until I settle down na. Metra muna i-ttake ko going downtown, sa may Libertyville may metra station dun, yun na yung nearest. I've been to Chicago na last year, pero as a tourist. I so love the city! Kaso ito nga first time ko mag-sspend ng winter kasi summer ako nagpunta nun so good luck! Haha! Sige will let you know pag nandiyan na ako so we can meet up. Na-ffeel ko na din na ma-hohome sick ako sa pasko and new year. Pero siguro sanayan lang din.

Yesterday sa interview, may nakasabay din ako na H1B applicant na PT, kaso kasi nung interview time na, after that di ko na siya nakita, baka nauna matapos saken, kasi magkasunod lang number namen.

Hello mga sisses, it seems na di na naa-update itong thread na toh pero I hope may magresponse pa din.. RN po ako, passed the local licensure examination last july 2010. Wala pang xp til now pero magstart na din ng training.

Tanong lang po, paano po ba mag apply ng h1b visa? Saka ano2 pong mga hospital sa US ang open sa ganito? Pwedo po kaya ang ganito sa case ko? Ano pong mga requirements and certificates ang kailangan para maqualify sa h1b? Thanks in advance sisses.. Godbless

^ Sis, The H1C visa is for nurses who wishes to work in health professional shortage areas. Only 500 H1C visas are granted annually. The visa is valid for three years and cannot be extended. In order to qualify for the H1C visa, the nurse must be licensed or have obtained a nursing degree in the US and pass the NCLEX-RN exam.

Since the H1C visa is in such short supply, most nurses choose to skip the H1C visa and apply directly for the nurse green card.

Sorry, I don't any idea about the specialization for nurses. Better check online for the information. I remember, we have a GTalker here before who was also a nurse but she was filed for H1B. Backread ka, or check other threads din here in  Gtalkers Overseas.
