^ Sis, The H1C visa is for nurses who wishes to work in health professional shortage areas. Only 500 H1C visas are granted annually. The visa is valid for three years and cannot be extended. In order to qualify for the H1C visa, the nurse must be licensed or have obtained a nursing degree in the US and pass the NCLEX-RN exam.

Since the H1C visa is in such short supply, most nurses choose to skip the H1C visa and apply directly for the nurse green card.

Sorry, I don't any idea about the specialization for nurses. Better check online for the information. I remember, we have a GTalker here before who was also a nurse but she was filed for H1B. Backread ka, or check other threads din here in  Gtalkers Overseas.

Sorry sis if I have so many questions, kasi as in 0 ang knowledge ko about this, wala din kasi kameng close relatives na nasa US kaya walang mapagtanungan.

Do you need an immigration lawyer to file for an adjustment of status from h1b to LPR?  I was planning on doing it on my own.

^does your company have its own lawyer? if yes, he can process it for you. that's how it usually goes if it's the company who's sponsoring your change of status. otherwise, you can do it on your own. but considering all the legalities, i think it's best to get one. sometimes these h1b visa holders spend 2k+ just for the lawyer alone. good luck sis!

^Thanks. They processed my initial H1b and they're gonna take care of my h1b extension as well.  It's a marriage based AOS so the University won't probably help with that.

i'm 25 years old, an RN but not practicing my profession, after I graduated and passed the board, I worked as an HR assistant in a manufacturing company for almost 3 years. A month ago, me and my cousin found an employer who would sponsored us to work in a nursing home. My cousin was offered to be a receptionist and me on the other hand is a nursing attendant. The employer said they are applying for H-1B visa for us. But then I found out na hindi pala applicable sa RN's ang H-1B. Ok lang ba if i applied for an office staff position instead? Kahit na graduate ako ng Nursing? Or madedeny ba yun sa interview kase graduate ako ng Nursing?

Please help.. Naguguluhan na din po kase ako.. Salamat po sa mga sasagot...

NO, hindi pwede sa nursing homes nurses ang H1B. For H1b, you need to prove that you have experience working in a special area of nursing (ICU, dialysis, etc.). This was several years ago. I don't know if it has changed. I know dialysis nurses who were granted H1bs.

I am getting married next year and will apply H4 visa right after I get my NSO marriage certificate. I have been denied a tourist visa a few times already so I'm still anxious. Please share your recent experiences for those who applied for an H4 visa ( documents, procedures, timeline). Thank you!

Processing depends on how well the application is prepared.  Premium processing is the quickest, I think less than 2 weeks..I can't remember how long ours took it's been several years.
As long as the papers are complete then H1b and H4 applications go through easily (my daughter was on an H4).

My employer filed for my H1B visa in April and I got selected in the lottery.  My status changed on September 5 from Initial Review to RFE.  The wait is killing me. Tapos wala pang update sa lawyer namin kung ano reason ng RFE

^^Hi Sis Rhed, Premium Process only covers the USCIS adjudication - from the time H1B is filed until the petition is approved. Once that's approved, the consular process is a different step (which covers scheduling an interview at the US Embassy).

^ Naku sis even before ng shutdown super matagal na talaga.  Yung sa akin, it took five months para ma-update status ko from Initial Review now to RFE.  Haist,... Feeling ko aabutin ng one year ang processing ko...

question:

if approved ka na sa uscis, is it true na madali na yung interview mo dito sa embassy? our us lawyer said its moreof formality and making sure yung inapproved ng uscis na person is the same person na bibigyan nila ng visa dito sa manila.

^Hi sis rhed, yes mostly naman ng interview sa US Embassy should be good if you have an approval notice from USCIS. It is still good to prepare and make sure you have the complete documents with you. Also, make sure that you know everything about the job that you will get into as they will ask you about those things (like how much is going to be your salary, how many employees are there, how did you learn about the job opening, etc.). As long as wala naman something unusual or suspicious about the job offer and the employer sponsoring you, then the interview will just be a breeze.
