^ yup tradition or belief nga lang. Just with anything, prayers ang best contra.

Actually, yung coordinator namin will ask my friend. Mag-highschool classmates kasi kami so she'll ask casually daw.

@meishan actually I'm not sure it is that common.... My fiance and I did not have a prenup agreement and we will have a tinghun. To answer your question, I think it depends on how well do you know your guy and his family. Like if I think I would be treated very well naman by my hubby and the in-laws then I would agree sa prenup. Besides, hindi ba it only applies to when you separate (that you will not get his properties etc)? But kung gusto mo makasiguro, maybe consult your own lawyer, or pastipulate mo an in case mag hiwalay nga may stipend ka man lang or something. Though I'm not sure how it will be viewed. Minsan medyo tricky din kasi yan e. Like if you don't agree naman it might be viewed as you are after his money..... :(

Hi, meishan.. I'd guess you're perplexed by it. Why else would you bring it up here. Sorry to ask, you may not answer if you're not comfy disclosing it here, status-wise parehas ba kayo or medyo mas meron one side than the other? Could be fiancé's looking after your own welfare. Like in my case, mas meron kami than them so he said before that it will be better if we have one.

Did you ask your fiancé why he'd want one?  Was is just his decision alone or his family urged him to get one?

hi!  just want to hear opinions on guest table centerpieces.  i am having a lauriat reception.  i initially planned to have all tall centerpieces for my guest tables, but a friend told me that with lauriats, tall centerpieces tend to take up more space so people tend to take them down or remove them.  she attended a chinese wedding where guests removed the centerpieces so they could talk to each other easier or to take photos.  i wouldn't want that to happen coz i'm spending way more for the tall centerpieces.  does anybody have experiences like my friend?  do they really do that?

^ if they take it down to talk parang they're sorta far from one another na diba? But true they take it down for photos especially if iikot ka sa tables for group photos with the guests. And baka ma-topple over if it's high & narrow. If it's high & wide, yun yung mag take up ng space. Hth!

^ thanks for your reply!  so usually ba if it's a chinese lauriat reception, the floral centerpieces are just low ones?

^yes, most of the chinese lauriat receptions I've attended had low (and not so wide) centerpieces, in order to have more room for the food. I've actually never been a fan of very high centerpieces, as it's not only difficult to talk to your tablemates, but sometimes it even obstructs your view (from watching the program, SDEs etc).

^^^sis tulip0419 di rin talaga advised ng stylist ko ang high na centerpieces kasi usually tinatanggal ng guests or ng photographer when you're going around to take pictures with the guests

Ladies, question lang.. usually how much ba ang average wedding budget lalo na satin na mga chinoy? We're computing our estimated costs medyo kinakabahan na si h2b!

^hmm.. Many factors to consider din kasi. How many guests you'll invite, where will your reception be held (Century or others), styling, photo & video suppliers etc. Initially we thought we'll need about 1.6-2m for 400 pax at Century with mid to high end suppliers. Knowing what I know now, it could have ballooned to less than 2.5m siguro. If you'll have it sa hotel siguro double the food cost pa.

But now kasi we're paying for our own so yung budgeted version namin is not so budgeted din pala. And that's with mostly low to mid range suppliers lang ah.

Sakit sa ulo nh? Sort niyo your non-negotiables, needs and wants even if you have a ceiling of about 3. Kasi if lahat susunduin, you'll reach your max in no time. :)

actually... in my case.. i think lagpas 3M na kami so far and am also worried since we still have lots of stuff not yet booked.

uso pa ba mga souvenirs/giveaways for chinese weddings?

my opinion on centerpieces is no tall centerpieces as much as possible para makanood sila sa mga SDEs and no risk of mahulog pag nagiikot ng food since lauriat :P

^^^corpse_bride oo nga eh, gusto nga namin sana sagad na ang 1.5M kaya lang I think aabot nga kami ng 2M or more. Possible pa siguro ang 1.5M a few years ago. Haha  ang hirap talaga kasi of course we want to work around a certain budget, yet we want a fairytale wedding..hay..

Century seafood kasi kami so nireserve lang yung venue then to follow na yung order ng food.

We just got engaged. Our families have both agreed not to hold a ting hun because it's impractical daw.

My fiance gave me a Rolex in lieu of ting hun. I'm not sure if I should give him something, too.

For those who forego the ting hun, how do you celebrate instead?
