Hi girls! we are also having a chinese wedding in december. My fiance is chinese while im pure filipina.

 knowing chinese guests (gaya ng na-share ng fellow gts natin here) chinese reception usually starts 8 or 9pm. ilalagayn ninyo ba yung time sa invitation or ilalagayn ninyo na "reception follows shortly after the ceremony?"

Hi reynamargallo, when my cousins got married, this was a few many years back,  they didn't indicate the actual time of the dinner, but when the cocktail hour started.  They had a sitdown sa manila pen, my other cousin naman sa makati shang.  Their wedding was at 12:00 , and in their invites they indicated that cocktails will start at 06:00 pm and dinner will follow.   The dinner started 07:30 Hope this helps.

Hi, Sis Reynamargallo! Diff ceremony & reception venue ka ba? Will you be serving lauriat style as well? If so, siguro better to indicate time. It starts late lang naman if lauriat coz I dunno if its the couples' or coords' or restos' instructions. With lauriat weddings I've attended they still indicated the time if separate yung venues. There was this one wedding same venue then they included that they'll serve cocktails while the family does their tea ceremony. Happy preps!

Sis Corpse bride natawa naman ako sa comment mo, haha kelan wedding mo? sa ballroom ka ba? pwede malaman kung how much and how many tables dun? kasi parang gusto nila sa restaurant kasi mas madaming tables na pwede, golly pano kaya natin papagandahin yan noh.

hi sis!  different yung venue ng ceremony and reception.  yes, we will serve lauriat.   ceremony will start at 4PM. It will end mga 5PM.  The venue sa ceremony to reception is mga 30 minutes away lang.

Di ko lang sure if it is advisable to indicate na 7:30PM sa invitation na dun mag start ang reception.

^ Hi, sis! 730pm sounds fair enough & nice nga close yung time of your ceremony & reception. As a guest, I'd appreciate indicated time if separate venues. We're not on that (prep) stage yet but will prolly indicate time as well

Hi girls! My fiance and I will have a Church wedding but will also have the tea ceremony before the actual reception (as a nod to his Chinese family). I'm Filipina and as much as I respect heritage and tradition, I prefer to get a red dress instead of going for a qua.

Short of an actual qua, can I check with you if there's a specific fabric/style needed? I don't want to ask my future MIL about this yet until I know what other options are out there haha

We had our tinghun na last july, nagtea ceremony kami during tinghun, di lang ako aware, may tea ceremony din prior to reception? Were having a catholic wedding
May mga suggestions ba kayo on hotels with good affordable chinese lauriat?

Hey sparklesmd - didn't mean to confuse you. We didn't have a tinghun and in HK kasi they have the tea ceremony on the day of the wedding itself so we're doing that. Just need to understand ano dress requirements

sis sparklesmd, you may want to check out century, golden bay or gloria maris CCP sulit sa century but gets booked very fast. I think it's more practical to do it in century seafood because as far as I know if you're doing it in the hotel, there's an automatic additional 10% charge per table. HTH

^ meron ata coz may poster sila advertising na inclusive ng stay sa Edsa Shang yung packages nila (yung Greenhills branch). Dunno for the 1 on Roxas though.

Sa mga nag tinghun na, required ba na red or shades of red yung gown nyo? then did you have your tinghun gown made by the same designer as your wedding gown? lastly ilang months before the tinghun bago kayo nagpagawa nung gown nyo? sorry daming tanong :p

Hi meixin, Hindi naman required na shades of red yung color ng gown. Wag lang siguro dark brown or black. I had different designers for tinghun and wedding. Wala namang specific na timeline for the tinghun gown, depende lang yan kung gaano kabilis gumawa ng gown yung designer.
