Just don't wear anything black In chinese weddings they're not really particular about their guests' outfits even if it's too simple as long as it's not black.

^ depends on the venue and the couple. If strictly formal, don't wear jeans. Its better to be overdressed than underdressed.

^ I agree. I don't want my guests to wear jeans on my wedding too. However, I've seen chinese weddings at century where some guests wear jeans and it's a big wedding btw around 1000 guests. Just check the invitation usually the dress code is indicated there.

usually if your venue is gloria maris or century, medyo at home na mga people so they wear jeans but if hotel, they usually dress up more.

i will really frown upon anyone who would wear jeans on my wedding. my invite says strictly formal. cocktail dress or gown for women and suit or barong for men.

ting hun, aside from century, try the hotels

^ so far edsa shang has a ting hun package which includes the ting hun cakes. But i'm still looking for other options.

hi amethyst! my fiance is not chinese/pinoy too and i must agree that we wont follow all the traditions plus we can choose what to follow and not.

2014 is not a bad year per se kasi may 4. it all depends in you and your fiance's compatibility and zodiac sign if ok you can consult with a feng shui expert for the most auspicious date

^ at first ayaw nila, they were against the relationship kasi "ingkok lang" siya and not chinese. but pina feng shui ng mom ko and they said na he is a good person so nag warm up sila and they discovered that he is a good person. they love him naman, sa relatives siyempre since they see my family supports us, ok sila but we never know ano sabi nila when sila sila lang.

ako konting konti lang like the date and other things but no more ting hun. kasi when my mom got married, she didn't do a lot of things na naman even yung mga fan and comb thing.

Mga sis sa tinghun ba kailangan complete all the rituals? kasi I'm only half-chinese (mom was pure) and they had tinghun noon so ako rin I want, kahit nag pass-away na mom ko. do we need to do all the things or pwedeng yung iba i-leave out na?

^hi sis, ako we didnt do all naman. the basic ones lang like display jewelry sets, then isusuot sayo ng inlaws mo, then display set ng clothes shoes etc. howe is also chinese ba?

@lil_mango hmm... usually kasi now angpao talaga sis. ako when i had my wedding last month lang, most were angpaos, 11 boxed gifts lang natanggap namin. ok na angpao at least you dont have to worry na sa gift. how many of you ba mag aattend sa wedding? if couple lang kayo you can give 1,200-2,400. if whole family will be going naman normally 3,600 and up?
