envy you girls upon reading all your posts and i can feel the excitement on each post. My BF is half chinese and half pinoy. So, I won't be having ting hun. :)

To all girls who will be having their ting hun ceremony before their wedding, enjoy every minute of it and dont forget your gifts! Daming sets of jewelries yan! :)

^ if your inlaws will still give you the gifts given during the tinghun then might as well skip it but if not, have a tinghun :)

Will give gifts daw pero shempre di ko na alam kung kasing dami ba ng pag may tinghun, kasi normally sa tinghun may number of sets diba? tsaka in a way for show din e kaya usually dnadamihan! haha I don't really know what they'll give me...

ting hun is kind of for show lang naman but if you have the time and money, go! if not skip it if you aren't keen for but but make sure that your inlaws will give the gifts to you.

How to make sure that they will give the gifts?

Are you both Chinese?

Have tinghun! Let new victory fix everything for you. :)

yes, we are both chinese, but I'm so tamad. [textspeak!] pala gastos ng girl side sa tinghun?
it's upto you sis if you still want to go with it or no na. but it's a different experience din kasi :)

sis littleprincess is right. if inlaws would still give you the gift like jewelries, ok lang kahit wag na. sayang naman kasi the gifts. it will all be yours after all :)

Sabagayyy

you have to ask nagenina and chinita168 what was their gastos but as far as i know, yung mga dresses, make up, some gifts, the bride's side will shoulder. the reception is depende on the agreement of both parties.

my mom didn't have a ting hun when she got married but the important things (ie the jewelry) were all given to her by my ama. i'm not marrying a chinese so no ting hun for me but then i'm really grateful that my parents are extra generous.

it's a sensitive topic to ask your inlaws kasi if how many they will give you. it all boils down to their financial capability, how much they love you as a daughter in law and factor na din how much they want to show. but if they will give you naman without the ting hun, they will at least give you the minimum. why don't you ask your fiance about it? or your mom's opinion?

anuanu gastos ng girl side sa tinghun?

yung samin sis, we bought giveaways para sa side ni fiance nung tinghun, number of giveaways depend sa demand ng family ni fiance. gieveways such as hopia, chocs, etc. eto na yung pinaka malaking gastos sa side ko.

i was the one who bought the two fondant cakes as well

for the reception, ang sinagot lang namin is yung cost ng misua and eggs. the rest fiance paid.

eto lang mga naalala ko. si sis chinita168 will have her tinghun sa june. lets wait for her update :)

For us naman, we are having tinghun out of respect for my family.  I'm thankful din talaga to the father of my fiance for his generosity.

Hi there spider. :)

We paid for the following:
Reception
Cake
Photographer - we shouldered this since fiance will pay for the wedding
Giveaways (number of giveaways will depend on the number of guest of fiance. Count is different with my guest)
Watch and medallion - for exchange with fiance
Bracelet - optional
Gown for me, my mom and sisters
Hair and Make up
Fabric for fiance
Bridal satin set - satin set, rice
120 eggs, 4 pumelos, red juice, sweet egg soup, misua, candies
bowl set, tea set, chopsticks candy trays
red table cloth

That's pretty much it. :)

Sulit din may tinghun, it's a once in a life time thing. My fiancĂ© and I haven't talked about the details yet. We will wait for his mom to come back from her cruise.  We will discuss details when they go to us for pamamanhikan.

sis chinita, goodluck on the ting hun! let us know how it goes :)

btw, does anyone know if it's bad to have cactus in the bridal bouquet and as souvenirs? Not the thorny ones but more on the rose cacti accent kind.

century kasi is the safe bet if ayaw mo mapahiya sa food but people are so used to century na nasawa na or feeling nila hindi "shong". pero in fairness, mura menu nila haha

^exactly. iniiwasan namin magreklamo ang 'oldies.' hahaha! actually, cheaper yung menu nila kasi wala silang freebies at all. lahat nalang may bayad! kahit cover ng chair may additional pa. =S so ang daming additional expenses. unlike pag hotel, may free car, decor, room, etc.

so for century, parang malapit din add on charges? parang same lang sa ibang hotel? exag naman linens may bayad pa!
