CHINESE WEDDING

Oo nga. Mandarin nga yung main na gamit nila. When we were still planning our wedding, my in-laws insisted talaga on getting a Chinese host kaya we hired one. My mother-in-law wanted pa talaga someone who sings Chinese songs LOL. So yun, we got Jerome Go, who I really really like compared to other hosts.

Buti comply ka. It really makes me cringe when I hear Chinese songs. Maybe 5% of the guest fluently speaks mandarin.. hay... traditions...

i think it's for the 'old' guests. especially sa friends ng parents and relatives. and mandarin is more formal so more suitable for a wedding.

i dont like chinese songs too! i barely understand it. i'm hoping my future in-laws won't demand for such kind of entertainment! LOL.

sa wedding nga namin, around 70% lang siguro yung kakilala talaga namin including family and friends. The other 30%? Puro from association ng father-in-law ko. I guess that's why we had to hire a Chinese host.

Yung host namin sang 2 Chinese songs and 1 Tagalog- Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok ko. Mas natuwa ako sa Tagalog. Hehe!

elo sis, here's my opinion: they use mandarin kasi mas formal siya gamitin but if you want na fookien yung  gamitn ng host sa wedding mo, i think you can request it namn sa kanila, coz most of them speaks fookien as well.

regarding sa mga chinese music, ang kinaiinisan ko lang, paulit ulit lang yung song na kinakanta nila sa wedding, ang dami namn ngayon na magagandang bagong chinese love songs. hehe

where do you plan to hold your wedding?

plan namin sa isang clubhouse lang yun reception..
FOOD will be courtesy of h2b's chinese restau.
kaya napili namin yung theme para mabagay sa food*.
church will be traditional padin.
yun lang, pahelp ako sa additional touch para maging chinesy na din yung wedding.

I suggest, the table and chair cover will be red tapos [textspeak!] cake dapat red and cream with sanghee (double happiness) na nakalagay sa cake. tapos put japanese lanterns sa ceilings and drapes of course. and also have dim te (the traditional chinese wedding before the reception or after the reception) it's the same as the tinghun. for the abays choose red motiff. most chinese like red motiff for their abays kasi mapuputi naman mga abay. and sa center table maybe u can put sanghee (double happiness). up to u! i used to want 5layers cake (red and cream color) with lots of sanghee on the side of the cake, ganda! kaso sofitel is already giving us free cake so i didnt bother na. gastos lang. and also give angpao's to abays, offerers, readers, commentator. and give nice gifts to ur ninangs with red gift wrap and sanghee on it. nice!

same din kami ng naisip ng friend ko for our favors,, chinese take out box (pero cake).. isip ko nga hanap nalang ako ng medyo mura pang pang dagdag as give away na di cheap. hehe

madaming mga styles online. search ka sa google ng chinese invitations, chinese cake designs...  meron pa nga qipao yung cake (part of the plan namin.. pero di pa finalized yoko ma over do eh hehe).

@sis buchi: winner! finally may partner na ako. Jan 2011 target namin. For the give aways, im giving take out boxes, may laman na japanese pie....tapos isusulat ko s box love story namin. parang advertisement namin kasi sila may ari ng factory.
for the invites, im thinking of something fun. para hindi naman gaanong chinesy lahat. of course, may love na emblem pa din.

For food, chinese resto yun caterer namin. 7 dishes and 7 up for drinks.

Kinontrata ko na friend ko na may ari ng chinese noodles stand din para mag lagay ng cart nila sa reception. yun yung substitute namin sa coffee bar. hehe...

im buying chinese lanters fr the reception and luminaries DIY na lang.... nagtatanim na din ako ng lucky plants for the centerpiece...

I booked Max Tiu. I've personally never seen him in action but I heard he was one of the better ones in the industry. My mother in law has seen him in several weddings and said he was good (in terms of speaking in Mandarin/Fukien)

Eva Poon was my first choice but was booked na. I don't like Mike Lim naman...too flamboyant for me.

okay ba si kv golamco? he's cheaper kasi compared to jerome go and mike lim. out na si mike lim sa amin cos parang di same personality namin. sosyal sia mashado, baka malunod ako sa mga hermes bags nia hehe. =)
