What pin with the shoes?  Paano ba ito? Kelanga ba may certain style or whatever shoes lang?  And bakit may pin?

Swerte ka sis!  Ako, well - firstly, wala paring kiu-hun.  I have no idea kung may balak sila or wala.  The tinghun - ewan ko kung tutuloy or not, but I have to know - kasi magbibigay kami dapat ng watch diba? (but friends have been telling us pag walang ibibigay yung guy side, wag narin kami magbigay - nonsense daw to give to them)

sis! were the same  [textspeak!] pa din kyu hun hahaha, kasi nagkaroon ng problems and then pinacheck sa sa feng shui which dates are auspicious, panu ka naKA booked without kyuhun dba parang formal asking for your hand un? kami reservation lang [textspeak!] pa deposit hehe we're waiting after the kyuhun before mag deposit.

ay, sorry! brooch pala! i was thinking of the chinese word kasi when i typed in "pin". i'm not sure what the brooch is for, but definitely shoes+brooch from the bride to the future MIL. fukkienese tradition daw eh.

diba dapat may kiu-hun? i mean dapat lang! kahit in any culture siguro they have this noh.

i think the pin is what we call "i-yen" or "ien" this is the small round made of tin tapos meron "sang hi" na nakasulat. i think the bride has to stitch it on the shoes.sa tip ng toes and sa likod ng paa, near the ankles...

plus pala, question, sino ba magbayad ng ting hun? from what i know its really the girls side, pero ang dami ko ng naririnig from friends na guys daw ang nag-babayad.??

girls ang magbabayad for the reception of the ting hun. ang alam ko kasi may issues din ang ting hun eh. for example, gipit ang family ng girl, it's ok not to have a ting hun, but on the other hand, di rin pwedeng mag ask ng sobrang raming tables sa reception ang girl.

actually guys talaga nagbabayad ng ting hun, common misconception na girls un at furst i myself thought its the girls family, but depends din with your groom if their family still knows the old tradition, the thing is ting hun is really for the girl so the grooms family will ask the side of the girls if they still want to hold the ting hun, in my  part thats what happen, its like letting the community knows that you can "buy" the girl :)

From what I know, it's the girl daw - pero the guy HAS to offer and pay.  Alam mo yung mga ganong types?  Hahahahahaha!!

But usually ngayon, it's the guys that pay.

Sabi ng future mother-in-law ko I have to wear closed shoes daw! Tradition ba to? Ang hirap kasi maghanap ng matinong pumps na hindi peeptoe or slingback. I have less than 2 months to look for a pair of shoes. :(

the reason for the closed shoes is for the money has no space to move out... sayo lang yung wealth, hindi lalabas o malalaglag.

not like if open toed or sling back, may mga space para daw lumabas...

try solea, meron rockwell n trinoma, i think in marikina din sila gumagawa, price is nasa mga 4k. if you go to marikina n cubao nasa mga 3k, kaya lang mahilo ka kakahanap dun n sayang oras..

From what I heard, the family of the girl has to provide misua, dowry like a car, and then exchange of jewelries that will go to the couple naman.  Hindi ba ganun?  Then the reception, if sa hotel, will be shouldered by the side of the groom-to-be?  I googled it.

^If we're talking about the ting-hun - the guy's family and dapat na magbibigay ng jewelries sa babae.

If we're talking about the dowry sa kasal - yes, may jewelries and etc.  pwedeng may car (it's NOT  a requirement).  From what I know (and experience) the guys shoulders everything EXCEPT for the appliances in the house, hair and make up ng girl sa wedding day, and her dowry.  Most everything, lalake ang gagastos.

I guess that explains it. Dumaan na ako before sa Solea pero ayoko na sana magpamade-to-order gusto ko yung bibilhin agad. ;D I might try Cubao daw kasi I've heard about Abbylyn's sa Cubao Shoe Exchange.

yes thats what i heard din tapatan talaga, but not required naman case to case basis talaga, in my case house sa groom may car din cya i think, then car sa akin. With regards to furnishing the house he shoulders the furnitures while my mom told me we provide the appliances :)

question ko lang malas ba magpakasal ng 2009? yung dad kasi ng friend ko sabi malas daw sa mga chinese to marry next year. i asked my dad sabi niya malas daw yung no.9. sa chinese kasi ang malas na nos. are 4 and 9.

she is being discouraged by her dad, sabi ng dad niya mamalasin daw siya habang buhay. nakakatakot naman yun.

I heard this too..my cousin is getting married next year and they made sure that it will not crossover 2009 in the chinese calendar...so i think they will get married on feb 6...
