:D "Ting-Huns" are great, especially the "ke-cheng" and "ko-cheng" it helps couples to prepare for starting a new life.  Why deny the parents of giving their children send-off  gifts  ;)  and for us, having parents who believe in those traditions just wants us to have a more secure and good life ahead of us!  ;D ;)

we opted to have a simplified ting hun, ting hun with no ceremonies.
just dinner with immediate families on both sides then exchange of
gifts after. tanong ko lang, when your h2b proposed with the
engagement ring, should this be included in the ting hun or hind na?

Re:  No tinghun No gifts the idea came from future MIL.  She was the one who told me na pag walang tinghun - wala ng bigayan.  That's where I got the idea from.  Kaya ako - I'm in limbo..  Di ko alam kung ano ba talaga mangyayari sa akin.. (hay!!)  We were supposed to give Fiance a watch and medallion sa 'dinner' but friends have been telling me na if wala naman ibibigay yung family ng guy sa akin na gifts - might as well not give the watch and medallion - panget daw tingnan, kasi parang ang babae ang bumibili sa lalake..  Ewan ko ba!!

candice! wag ka sana pumayag na no ting hun, ang sa amin kasi the guy have to ask and we wanted a ting hun talaga so un ang agreement, so preference un ng family ng girl whether to have or not, its for you naman. And yeah why give the guy if hes family isnt giving you any dba? medyo awkward on both parts......

yes, bride ang bibili. i remember this clearly cause my granny had a bit of drama when the bride didn't send over a pin with the shoes

my parents weren't asking for the ting hun with ceremony kasi impractical na daw and di na applicable in this day and age and they were being considerate pa nga. but they still want my fiance's parents to give something pa rin.   since his family decided to have ting hun with ceremony, sila ang nag insist na may ting hun talaga, kahit simple lang, then so much better!

yep maganda nga [textspeak!] ganun, [textspeak!] sa part ko din considerate naman [textspeak!] family ng guy, we don't have to insist or anything and since my parents were really adamant about having ting hun [textspeak!] naman magiging prob :)

What pin with the shoes?  Paano ba ito? Kelanga ba may certain style or whatever shoes lang?  And bakit may pin?

Swerte ka sis!  Ako, well - firstly, wala paring kiu-hun.  I have no idea kung may balak sila or wala.  The tinghun - ewan ko kung tutuloy or not, but I have to know - kasi magbibigay kami dapat ng watch diba? (but friends have been telling us pag walang ibibigay yung guy side, wag narin kami magbigay - nonsense daw to give to them)
