All About Bridal Showers

I've always been the bridesmaid, but sad to say, never the bride. I always seem to be the one who has to be responsible in planing the bridal shower. I was just wondering if this is really the norm? Care to share your thoughts?

I want to know who needs to plan this?  The maid of honor or just the bride's friends?

Anyone actually can throw the bride her bridal shower.  The "official" shower though is customarily thrown by the Maid of Honor with or without the help of the bridesmaids.

Mine was thrown by my MOH, a spa-themed chikahan session at Nail Tropics in Serendra   Officemates also threw me a bridal shower in the form of a dessert-and-coffee break at Greenbelt 5 (gosh, Alzheimer's... I forgot the name of the dessert place hehe).

due to lack of time, my moh (ie, my sister), was considerate enough not to throw my bridal shower, she just gave money as gift, hehe.   technically, my bridal shower is a spa session at wensha with my mommy & sister.  mommy wanted my mil to join, but she was not a spa person, so she had to pass.

my friend naman, since her moh is still in the states, the bridesmaids are the ones who coordinate the shower... they are asking for help from me, kaya lang i'm busy with work and i'm doing the coordination (well, part of it) anyway, so i'll be missing the shower.

soon, i'll be moh... i'll do it more than a month before the wedding, busy na kase if on the month of the wedding (christmas season ito).

it can be anyone, from the bridesmaids to the barkada to the sisters.

Any of the bridesmaids, secondary sponsors or the MOH herself should be the one arranging the bridal shower (and not necessarily pay for it).

Usually, the one who should lead must be the bride's best friend. The rest will follow, ofcourse the person will need help, and the rest of the barkada will just do what they're assigned to do

Wow, thanks guys for all the information! Pwede naman palang ibang tao, hehe. Another question though, who should be spending for this? If the MOH is the one tasked to throw the shower, is she also responsible for spending for it? Or can the entire entourage pitch in for it?

^baka naman pwede go dutch?  luge naman MOH, hotel room, food, drinks, props (including the macho dancer, if applicable), ang mahal nun!

my group of friends are all my cousins, so kami2x yung nag organize pag may bridal shower. .so equivalent share sa expenses.. which is super tipid kasi typically sa bahay lang ng isang cousin ko... and of course ako ang punong abala lagi sa mga activities. all of the party is a suprise. sumablay lang dun sa sister ko, since lagi suprise ang set up.. she got a hint na...

Suggest places or venues for bridal showers... 

One time, I saw the pics of my high school friend's shower party... It was held in one of the themed rooms of VC... Kaka-aliw!!!

San pa ba pwede aside from that?

sis try discovery suites dito sa ortigas.. the place is nice and not very pricey...
dun madalas ng ha-hang-out yugn cousin ko ang his friends.. mura lang daw kasi...

^ Yes, these are good choices.  Maganda rin sa condo ng isa sa inyo which you can decorate for the theme.  Makakatipid pa kayo.

victoria court may rooms sila na malalaki.  they use this for bridal showers talaga.  check out their website na lang. I inquired and the package already includes the food and drinks and the venue for 5 hours.
