Thanks sis, she's 6 yrs old.

we got her from a shelter and she came from a breeder that just had too many dogs to care for. so she really got terrible, painful teeth when we adopted her.

she's still got some teeth left and now, she doesn't tear up as much as she used to.

i want to bring my dog sa mall pero hindi ko alam yung basics. i mean yung food na dadalhin, yung water nya, pano kapag nag-poo-poo or umihi. first time ko kasi sya igagala sa malayong lugar. hindi naman ba sila matatakutin or baka maging sobrang nervous sila sa byahe?

depende sa dog sis. yung isang chi ng kuya ko sumusuka sa biyahe kahit 3 hours lang sa sasakyan. kaya ndi pinapakain ng kuya ko bago bumiyahe. yung ibang chi naman ng kuya ko okay lang.
if you're going to bring your chi somewhere far away, bring water & food. kung puppy pa, every four hours dapat kumakain kasi maliit lang ang stomach nila at ndi pa makakakain ng madami. usually pag very small chi, prone sa hypoglycemia. un 'yung nakamamatay talaga. kahit sa bahay lang pag napansin mo 'yung chi puppy mo medyo matamlay na parang lasing at walang kabuhay-buhay lagyan mo ng honey 'yung roof ng bibig para emergency sugar supply ng katawan niya kasi kapag inabot ng seizures namamatay talaga.
ang aso naman kapag nasa carrier/bag ndi iihi or tatae basta-basta. pero ilabas mo na lang siya pag feel mo naiihi or natatae. siguro every 4 hours or so. depende sa age. puppies can't hold their bladder well (usually naiihi pa nga mga pups pag excited).

gusto ko rin mag-adopt ng chi from a rescue someday. medyo di ko pa afford ngaun e.

oo sis. wawa nga siya eh. kaya pala lagi siyang may tears sa eyes and she has so much tear stains. kala namin maybe she's allergic to the dogfood. pinalitan namin yung diet niya pero ganun pa rin.

when we had enough money to afford her dental, after that procedure - we noticed significant change in her eyes. di na iysa laging naluluha.

Yes, she was used for breeding. According the her shelter mom, she lived with atleast 14 other dogs with the breeder. Pero ngayon, super spoiled na siya.

We take our chihuahuas almost anywhere! No problems sa biyahe. We let them poop at home before we leave. If ever, we always carry small plastic bags with us in case they have to poop in public. Just cleanup after our dogs.

With food and water, kung di naman sobrang malayo ang pupuntahan ninyo - bringing bottled water is more than enough.

Normally, they will be too excited to be out to think about food and water.

ang tagal ko ng gustong magkaroon ng chihuahua. hindi lang lagi natutuloy. this time meron akong nakitang male puppy 7 months old and maganda ang line niya and he's very cute. kaya lang hindi pa ako decided kung male or female kukunin ko yung puppy kasi sa room ko siya mag-iistay eh diba ang mga male na dogs minsan kung magwiwi sila yung tinataas ang isang paa, kasi minamark nila yung territory nila kaya spray sila ng spray ng wiwi nila kung saan-saan unlike female dogs. pero may nabasa din naman ako na mga male dogs na hanggang pag laki nila paupo pa din magwiwi.

yung merong alagang male chihuahua mahirap ba sila sa pagwiwi? paano sila magwiwi paupo or yung nakataas ang isang paa? i need an answer as soon as possible kasi baka mabili na yung pup na gusto ko   TIA!

yung male chi ko nakakatuwa mag wiwi parang girl naka squat siya, never niya pang nagawa yung nakataas yung paa, may be because nasanay kasi siya sa newspaper wiwi =)

you got your chi's as adult na di ba? i got a pug from a rescue, adult na rin nung nakuha ko. my chi is only 3 months old and he's used to me brushing his teeth na. but the pug isn't and i think it's probably bec the last owner didn't brush her teeth. medyo may plaque nga yung teeth niya ('yung nasa sides) that's why i really want to get her to get used to brushing. i don't want to forcefully open her mouth naman coz since i got her from a rescue nga i don't know what her temperament is like and i'm afraid of getting bitten (i only got her yesterday).
i tried to use treats to make her open her mouth pero wala talaga eh she keeps turning her head away whenever ilalapit ko na yung brush.
she's also a very picky eater but i think it's only because she's still getting used to her surroundings bec she came with her toys when i got her and she haven't even touched them. but lately, nagiging playful na rin siya with my other dog.
can you give me some tips on how to be able to take care of my pug's dental hygiene? sorry medyo off topic.

hi sis luisacart,

it'll take time for emma, your pug to get used to many things. Especially brushing her teeth. What i do suggest is, when you are in relax mode (like watching tv, reading a book on the couch or some quiet corner at home) just let emma sit beside you, pamper her, pet her then introduce the toothbrush to her with toothpaste on it. Super slow ang introduction. Like let her feel the tooth brush on her teeth and then gradually next time do it again until she's very comfortable.

But since you just had her for a few weeks, you can't brush her teeth yet. Just give it some time until she has come to that point where she considers your home as her home.

Pino (the golden one), has a very tiny mouth and we can't fully brush her teeth. The vet gave us a medical mouthwash with a syringe. The vet said atleast wash her gums every night with it. With her teeth, we use cotton buds with tooth paste and try to scrub as much as we can for as long as she lets us.

With Yuki, she seems to let us so no probs with her. But we only started brushing her teeth on her 5th month with us. That's when she felt we really were family.

If your pug has bad breath, it's curable. Pino used to have it due to her terrible teeth. We bought this online and it really works. Just a few drops in their drinking water and in a few days you'll see the results. All natural.

my friend got another chi, female naman. i thought lahat ng chi ay hyper pero itong new chi nya masungit ayaw mamansin.

every chi has their own personality. usually puppies are super hyper. masungit sila with strangers unless sanay sa tao from the beginning.

kaya ba hindi pwede ang chis sa mga bata kasi baka biglang masaktan at mejo may temper din ang mga chis? tama ba?

i'll be getting a chi for my 3 yo son, lagi kasi shang nabo-bore sa bahay eh. although he really likes animals, from fishes to live alimasags to dogs, cats, lizards, everything!
